Great Chinese food. This is one of the only places in San Antonio that you can get a lunch special for under $10. The lunch comes with a meal soup eggroll and drink. Super fast service and great food.

After reading reviews and having a craving for Chinese food we decided to give this place a try for take-out dinner.
We ordered orange chicken, chicken chow mein, hot and sour soup and an order of cream cheese rangoons. We phoned in our order for pick up and the hostess said it would be ~10 mins.
After arriving I noticed the ambiance was that of a typical well-established Chinese food place. I'd say "well frequented" which is something I want to see. You can tell it got a lot of traffic and has been around for some time. After paying and a brief wait the hostess came out with our order. We got home and opened everything up. The portions were amazing. You can EASILY eat 2 if not 3 times out of a single order for the entrées. The hot and sour soup was tasty and had lots of veggies, it wasn't all broth. The cream cheese rangoons were fresh and tasted great. All the condiments were included.
We will definitely be back!

So good. I can eat it everyday… and sometimes I do!
Generals chicken and pepper steak is our go to…. egg drop soup is also a 10/10. Highly recommended it. The lo mein though I don’t recommend at all.

My Chicken Chow Mein was excellent! Best I've ever had.
Wife's Sweet and Sour Chicken a bit dry and rough.
Service and staff are an absolute pleasure. Lisa was friendly and delightful.
Limited Handing Parking.

This place is a local classic. The atmosphere is chill. Service is great. I look forward to collecting their New Years calendar every year. The food is so good, the portion size is more than filling, and they have some of the best steamed dumplings in the area (potstickers in their menu). Also their Pu-pu platter is slept on. If you’re a regular here and haven’t tried the Pu-pu platter, run to happy guy right now!

The food was great! Hot and fresh! We had the Sweet & Sour Chicken with Mongolian Beef. It comes with an egg roll, rice, and soup. The Egg Drop soup was delicious! We also had the Fried Crabmeat Rangoon and Combination Lo Mein. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The only down side is that it felt hot in there. The fans were going, but I think rotating in the wrong direction. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Happy Guy Chinese Restaurant!
The Crab Rangoons were generously stuffed and bursting with flavor. The Wonton soup was a delightful and left me craving more. The Lemon Chicken was impeccably crispy, and the sauce was an exquisite balance of sweet and tangy. The Egg Rolls were a true standout, impressing me with their crispy exterior and scrumptious filling. Rice was a little dry but when I added some lemon sauce it made up for that. And finally the Beef and Broccoli was tender almost melted in my mouth.
Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in this city. Every dish was a triumph, and I can't wait to return for another mouthwatering meal!
Ps. Parking is troublesome, but walking a few extra feet is well worth it. Or you can order ahead for a to go.

I have forgotten about this little gem. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, and hot. The staff is so very friendly, and the atmosphere is great. We had the General TSO's Chicken, and the Shrimp Sczechuan Style. Food is great as always and these plates were the Family meals that came with soup, egg roll, Rangoons and fried rice. These 2 plated meals are enough to feed a family of 4, the price is right, around $34, and again, the wait staff is very friendly. My 2 cents, but give them a try.
