The food here was okay. There was nothing spectacular about it. Only thing that stood out slightly for me was the chilly which itself was only slightly above average. Decent enough place to try out if you're hungry and in the area.
Amazing BBQ and more. My dad used to coach the owner's son. The brisket was tender. The sausage was very tasty and everything was so good. This is the dad giving the review, Sorry Mr and Mrs S BUT....it's true, y'all need to catch up to the 21st century and attract more customers who refuse to carry cash anymore. And redecorating wouldn't hurt, in fact it would help business grow..
Slide Your Tray. Along the serving line after a verbal selection of the meat entree. Pick from the usual sides, all adequate in preparation and taste, sometimes fresh, often frozen and canned. Interesting desserts are available. Make sure you have cash but you will not need a $10.00 spot as prices here match the 1960's decor.
This week, the word "brisket" did not appear on the menus, only "beef"? I selected the rib plate that comes with three sides. While sliding my tray, I could not help noticing the two different kinds of sausage. Oh well, I will have to return another time to try that selection. The ribs were excellent, nice little "bark" and no evidence of a pre-boiling causing the meat to "fall off the bone". The pinto beans, green beans and mashed potatoes were tasty and filling. All in all, a nice food experience with an emphasis on pleasant and competent service.
Live on the South side? You owe it to yourself to eat with Snoga's. Try it! You will not be disappointed.
They catered my daughters Quince, best food ever. People were still talking about it a week later. Great people great service....highly recommended..
MAGNIFICENT. The meat is delicious. there are two types of sausage Kielbasa (store bought) and country (homemade) both are very delicious. The chicken is very tasty. The ribs are tender and chew able. Ham is smoked and flavorful. Brisket is extremely juicy. On certain days Monday they offer chicken fried steak (don't care for) but their chicken and dumplins is to die for! They offer various vegetables like carrots (very sweet) corn, green beans (flaovorful), mashed potatoes (homemade), dressing (good with gravy), Cold salads potatoe salad (no onion), macaroni salad (good), green salad, pea salad (delicious), cucumbers(sweet and sour), green bean salad(great). The Turkey is magnificent!!! YOU HAVE TO TRY!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Stuffing Like My Grandma Use to Make. I've lived on the Southside going on 10 years and have never eaten at Snoga Bar-B-Cue until tonight. I ordered the Turkey Plate and it felt like Thanksgiving in August. The stuffing taste just like my Grandma use to make. I will defiantly go back.
Hidden Gem. Snoga's is a hidden gem of a BBQ place. This is a family owned resturant that coooks it's meats dailey. They have more delicous sides that other BBQ places and their pies and cakes are always fresh. This is my favorite place when ever I am on the southside at meal time. They are great caterers also. I have eaten Snoga's catered foods at events large and small, in town and out of town. They have probably been in business 30 years or more.
Soo good. The food is delicious, everything is homemade and so good! The service is amazing and friendly.
Flavorful Meats with a Solid Loyal Clientele. The chicken BBQ, the sausage and the brisket was quite nice in this cafeteria style southeast side eatery. The outside of the place didn't look like much and frankly the inside of the place looked like a circa 1980's cafeteria, not like there is anything wrong with that. The sides were forgettable and not particularly flavorful. I had green beans and mashed potatoes.
I sure did enjoy my chicken leg and thigh. The sausage was good and the brisket was moist and flavorful.
Friendly staff and a seemingly very happy clientele. What I thought was interesting is that as people came into the restaurant, they called the cashier by her name and she in turn seemed to know a very high percentage of the customers as well. Wow, a loyal clientele.
The food is delicious. This place has been a favorite of our family since the 80's. The facilities are clean as is the restaurant. A cozy Bar B Q place without the large crowds. I recommend the sausage and chicken. Try the Bar B Q sauce, it's quite unique 😊 This restaurant does not take credit cards so bring cash in hand. If you forget, there is an ATM located inside.
The food at Snoga's is way better than Bill Miller's! On Fridays the restaurant serves roast beef and it is really good with scalloped potatoes and carrots!
Food was great. Like getting a home cooked meal! Roast beef was great. I was full but could not stop eating it. The wife had fish and our son had the Country Sausage plate. Everything was great.
Excellent home cooking! The ribs and bbq sauce were both awesome. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. They don’t have a menu online, so I’m uploading some pictures of their menu.
Bbq was amazing huge selection cheap price best bbq we had in san antonio by far great environment is quite busy
Hadn't been here in several years. The brisket was great. Sausage, good, ribs, excellent.
My wife had 3 meat plate with the creamy potatoes and macaroni salad. Her first time here and she loved everything.
I'd feel better if the people serving wore face coverings!
Everyone was very nice and patient!
If you are looking for great priced scratch kitchen food then this is your place! I have been going here for years and I have never been dissatisfied.
Been coming here since i was a kid ! The people are friendly and the food is delicious as always .
Well my husband and I really love this restaurant. We have ordered several entrees. The chicken fried steak, poorboy plus, beef stew, and their fish plate. It is all good and homemade. Yes homemade. Their side dishes are like grandma use to make it, a lot of love!
Try Snoga you won't be disappointed. It's Good! Thank you and God Bless.
After many many years of knowing about this place I finally went. Best decision I made today. Very friendly service and the brisket was moist and tender and the sausage was even better. Great twosome combination. Good price per lb on both. I'm not big on bar-b-q sauce but I wasn't disappointed with this one. They still have dine-in. They do follow Covid-19 guidelines. Definitely worth stopping by. Support your local small businesses. They have cafeteria style service. Variety of meat choices including meatloaf. Closed on Mondays.
