Ate here for the first time yesterday. Had the pho, which was excellent. My wife had the garlic shrimp, also excellent. Great service, even better food.
I've been to many Vietnamese Pho places, SA, Austin, Houston, Dallas, and would put this place next to any other pho shop! The broth, texture, and condiments are one if the best. I normally get my Pho fix once a week and this has been my favorite!

Best Pho in town.. I haven't tried anything other than the Pho, spring rolls and the fried spring rolls but hands down they are the best things ever! They are very consistent and the service is excellent. Never have to ask for refills and the are very prompt. Restaurant is clean and open, we love this place. it's a diamond in the rough. Hoping to try something new one day but I can't resists my usual.
Great atmosphere. Very professional staff. The location is the middle of nowhere and the outside gives an impression of a dive. But once you enter, the place is a clean well managed restaurant. The servers are friendly and the food is great. I had the Thai tea and one of the Vermicelli dishes. Awesome flavor and taste. Will definitely return.
Awesome Food - Total Dive. Don't let the outside of this restaurant fool you. It does look like a total dive, but man is the food good. Plus once you get inside, you will see that it is clean and bright inside. One note thought ... they only take cash or check according to the sign on the door, so plan accordingly.
Our family had 2 different Phos and the lemon chicken entree. The Pho was awesome ... the broth had a great flavor. One bowl could easily serve two people. Included with the Pho is the customary plate of garnishes and add-ins, including bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, fresh jalapeno slices, and lemon/lime wedges.
The lemon chiclken was a great surprise as well. All white meat chicken in a great tempura coating which was light and crispy. Sometimes lemon chicken can be quite greasy, but not this one. Again you receive a generous portion (that even my teenage son had a hard time finishing). With the entree you receive fried rice, a spring roll, and a bowl of soup.
The price was very reasonable ... Our total bill was $26 (3 entrees and 2 sodas).
We will definitely be back.
One of the Best Vietnamese Restaurants in SA. We had lunch here yesterday, and as always they turn out a great meal. Haven't been by in a few years and it was nice to see that they are doing well and putting some of the profit back into the location. The interior has been remodeled and now looks more modern. They have replaced the gravel parking lot with a nicely paved one. They have menus that are bright and colorful, equal to what you would find in an upscale restaurant.
I had the Bahn Xeo, a thin rice flour crape wrapped around fresh bean sprouts, chinese parsley, shrimp and small thin slices of pork. Lettuce leaves were provided for wrapping and dipping pieces of the crepe in the mak nam fish sauce.
My lovely wife had the rice noodle bowl with grilled pork and spring roll. The spring roll was crisp and hot without being overcooked. Lien Hung always supplies a generous portion of fresh vegetables in their noodle bowls. Both plates were filling but light, a perfect hot day lunch.
Lien Hung is a little "hole in the wall" place, way off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood. Do not let the area or outside appearance of Lien Hung deter you from coming in and having a great meal.
The only place we go to eat Chinese food and Vietnamese cuisine pho is amazing. Everything is so fresh and clean never have I eaten her and been disappointed. Must try’s is the LG Wonton soup, the # 8 Soup and the Vietnamese spring rolls. This place is a gem keep in mind Cash or Check only.
Really good, no frills Vietnamese cuisine. Service is amazing. Food is out of this world, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this place.
Fantastic Friendly Service!! The food was absolutely delicious. This is a hidden gem that puts other restaurants to shame. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in SA. Pho was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Fresh and Fried Spring Rolls were out of this world.
Tldr: great neighborhood spot for Chinese and Vietnamese
Food: I only ordered pho dac biet and hot tea so I haven't tried much of the menu. The pho was excellent. Delicious flavorful broth. Plentiful toppings. Reasonable portion of meat.
Service: Even though they were busy, I got my food quickly and the waitress was very courteous.
Atmosphere: clean, but nothing special. Just a good casual place.
Price: To be expected for a typical neighborhood joint. Not expensive but not a great deal either.
Great service, very friendly staff. Food is amazing especially their soups
Amazing sweet and sour chicken. The batter is fluffy and crisp on the outside, its unlike any I've had before and as someone who doesn't care for chicken this is one of the items I order every visit as part of the lunch combo.
Everything I've tried has been pretty good. I'll continue to visit here and try more items. I haven't made it to the vietnamese items yet.
Food ones out fresh and hot, everything has good flavor. Prices are very affordable, and service is usually pretty decent.
Important note.. Cash only..
Been coming here for 20+ years, everyone is always friendly. If you like soups try “Mi thap cam” it’s so good, my two sons and I loves it!
So my Friend recommended this resturaunt and this is My first time trying Pho. It was amazingly delicious, the atmosphere was layed back and the staff were super friendly.

Everything was delicious!!! I had the spring rolls and they are amazing! As well as the #16 stir fry noodles !
Tucked away in a small Vietnamese community on the NE side of San Antonio, Lien Hung has AMAZING Pho, and authentic Vietnamese/Chinese dishes. Friendly staff, very clean, good prices.
