I can't attest for the quality or livelihood of this place at night; I went there for lunch. But it was a nice, unfussy place to grab a quick bite and drink.
The food is slightly more Mex than Tex, and there are complimentary nachos and soup while you wait for your food. The bartender and server were friendly and polite.
This place had a free salad, chips salsa and soup with any order. Two specials brisket, chicken, your choice of rice and beans or mashed potatoes. New York strip with a side of mash and gravy. Fantastic on both dishes. Place was a bit smokey when we walked in. Few nats, and flies servicing around. Other than that enjoyed it.
First time there. I'm older and it was awesome. Great atmosphere. Great crowd. Clean, cold, cold beer. Outside patio is huge and decorated beautifully. The band was awesome and played tejano music. Big dancing floor that can be made bigger by moving tables back. Great service.
Celebrated our daughters sweet sixteen here. Jesse is awesome always making sure we had everything we needed he manages a great place. Will definitely hold another event here. Food was fantastic all our guests had a great time.
My beautiful daughter got married and it was best time of our lives. Thank you
Very Loving, Friendly and Caring staff. Happy hour is Awesome! This Place is Legendary. The prices are very reasonable. But.. be sure you Pay for public parking, when you park across from the Bexar County courthouse. It a Peaceful environment.
Great little bar with excellent food! Popped in for lunch while walking in Downton. Great price, good portions, great service and delicious. Had the chicken fried steak. All entries come with soup and salad bar. The soup was amazing!
Jesse is the most genuine person and full of life!! He's been with the bar since opening 45 years ago. This is a true San Antonio experience. It was a slow night when we went in and I can say that it was a pleasure to visit a little and watch him work. He is a true professional, in every sense of the word.
Located in an easy to get to downtown location, this place is a-ok. They had three bands the night we were there. One in a private party area, one in the inside main area, and one outside on the patio. Not a bad venue but it can get a bit crowded.
Two whiskeys and two margaritas with chips and cheese dip was less than $16. Wow, what a surprise. Decor could use a little up dating. Outside seating needs new furniture and repair of roof. Barkeep was very nice. Great place to sit and have one or two. Music wasn't my taste but I like country. Didn't have food but had to mark it.
