First time here. Great location and free parking off Broadway. Yummy breakfast tacos. The rest of the menu looks good. They have a 2nd location by St. Mary's. Love the tables. The place was busy. Recommend.

Nice small restaurant with great healthy food. Ordered the special flautas plate with rice and beans. Everything on the plate was delicious and filled me up. Service was good, tables were clean and yes they have outdoor seating.

Coffee was delicious, food was fresh, delicious, not oily. Great salsa. Most people were ordering to go. We were the only ones eating at the restaurant. Definitely will return.

Chela's likely happens to be one of the best least heard of Mexican restaurants in San Anton'. The location on St Mary's near the San Antonio Zoo is better known, but the one on Broadway is unfortunately all too easy to miss. Still, I recommend it for the quality food, and portions they don't skimp on; even their tacos are sizeable. The location on Broadway at least is in need of cozying up, but for now, the food and friendly staff will have to do.

First timer here. I ordered the two tacos plate with the chicken cilantro tacos. It was delicious! Had plenty of flavor and the perfect amount. The rice and beans were okay, just a little bland. Overall, I would go back again and get the tacos.

I had the shrimp tacos on corn tortillas taco plate with rice and beans. It was a-maaay-zing! This restaurant is definitely worth visiting if you are in Alamo Heights on a lunch break, or for breakfast.

Solid tacos that fill a gap in an area lacking great taco choices. Chela's serves both Mexican and Tex Mex. The Michoacan style carnitas are rivaled only by Carnitas Lonja and are among the best in town. The other true Mexican staples such as cochinita pibil are also very good. Unfortunately, most of the standard tacos are good, but not great. In a city where the average taco is already good these fail to stand out. Chela's location helps them tremendously by being near a university and an area severely under served by good tacos. That surely helps them stand out because they are otherwise good, but not great.

First time there! And barbacoa tacos are great!!! Salsa verde is tasty.. spicy but not too much.. so it’s perfect IMO.. Will be back for more!! 2 tacos is good quantity on average.. 3 if you’re hungry

Best tortilla soup I have ever had. They also offered the best service. 12/10 recommended.

Nice little place to eat, I order breakfast tacos on occasion and I like the cozy atmosphere for dining. This restaurant is conveniently located down the street from me so that is a big plus ✅

Incredibly generous portions for the price, not greasy, and it tastes so good!! You can definitely tell the difference with the homemade tortillas and sausage/chorizo. The place is clean and the service was very friendly. A great breakfast, I wish I had more time in SA to have it again!

Very authentic. Went to various Tex Mex places in San Antonio but many were just stereotypical Hacienda.
This place was far more legit in presentation, flavor, and offering.
Very close to what I had during my time living with a Mexican family.
