Julian's Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen

It was after church today, my wife asked me if I'd like to go to our regular lunch spot in the neighborhood. Normally I'd have said yes but I had spoken to my physical therapist this week (she's helping me recover from a broken knee and shattered tibia) and we'd traded back and forth places each of us has tried. My physical therapist mentioned Julian's Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen. I hadn't been to it. Today was my opportunity to suggest Julian's to my wife and so we both dined there in the early afternoon. We entered the restaurant and found it to be near packed with customers on a Sunday afternoon. A near packed place with customers is a very good sign. We placed our order and sat at a table they'd picked out for us. Both of us chose the slice of pizza, salad and drink lunch special for under $10 each. I liked the atmosphere which set the tone in a positive way for me. The salad arrived at our table first and I was super happy I opted for their house Italian dressing on the salad. I'm usually a ranch dressing type guy but when I heard they had their own house Italian dressing then it was a must for me. Loved the dressing, the fresh salad ingredients and the portion size. Speaking of portion, that slice of pizza was huge!!! It was the size of an entire small pizza. I only managed to finish half of it but I'm not complaining at all. Now I have lunch ready for Monday thanks to the carryout container they kindly supplied to me. The pizza slice? I loved the crispy crust which has a crunch when you bite into it. Loved the ingredients which I should note allows for two toppings on the lunch special. I opted for pepperoni and mushrooms. My wife and I agreed that we will definitely be coming here more often. Who did I see? Entire families including kids under ten years old, older AARP aged couples, younger couples on dates and the two of us (which includes a self employed person himself). Support small business as often as you are able.

There are three Julian's Pizzeria & Kitchens in San Antonio; this one is on N. New Braunfels in the Alamo Heights area. I dined with two couples and friends who have eaten at this Julian's previously. We stopped there after church because the food and service are exceptional. We ordered from the menu at a counter near the front entrance. I selected from lunch specials the Pepperoni and Pasta Salad for $13.95. If you need a salad for weight loss, better order somewhere else. 😉 My plate came with a ton of good pepperoni and spaghetti pasta along with diced tomatoes and Italian salad dressing. The lunch menu had about ten selections that will be tempting next time. When I sat down with good friends, I simply forgot I could review this well-liked restaurant. The only photo I submitted was a picture of Eggplant Pasta Salad a friend gave to me to take home. You know what? The Eggplant and Pasta were still tasty from the microwave after 24 hours.

Always a favorite. You want desert so bad but your plate make you so dull. I like paying first and have the food come put to the table. I also like serving myself my refills. This accommodates 1 or 2 to a group.

Nice place with good food. We didn't try the pizza, but will definitely come back, we enjoyed the linguini alfredo and lasagna.

My Husband heard about this place on the radio so we decided to give it a try. It's a small cute spot that has a small outdoor eating area. We had the 16' All Meat pizza and it was delicious, we even had 3 slices leftover to take home. My Son had a small Caesar salad with grilled chicken and he LOVED it. My Daughter had the Fettuccine Alfredo and was not a fan of it. We all agreed it lacked flavor. I also enjoyed a glass of their Moscato wine. I should've gotten the name of it, it was so good.
