Great food, nice atmosphere. The sandwiches had a very nice texture and the bread had a nice, sweet flavor. I had the BLT and my wife had a pesto avocado sandwich. The fries were seasoned well, crispy. The pastries were very tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Their Breakfast Panino is my San Antonio favorite! The bread is house baked, the choice of meat, cheese, onions, tomato and avocado with eggs or egg whites comes together perfectly... Cozy and casual setting makes this a great spot for a TGIF meeting!
Their pastries are absolutely excellent and I have standing Cinnamon roll orders from my wife and kids if I am going to be there.

Rise Bakery is a hidden gem in San Antonio. I ordered their burger and was pleasantly surprised. The mest was juicy and the bread was soft and light. Their cookies are also amazing. Definitely give them a shot.

The iced Mocha Valencia was so delicious and refreshing! The raspberry kolache was a bit on the dry side but I'll give it another go to be sure.

This food was so stinkin’ good!! I’ve seen it for months and never thought to go in. It is forsure a hidden gem. I loved the BLT, and the coffee was surprisingly really delicious. And of COURSE you have to try the beignets. Perfect cozy restaurant for anyone and everyone

They have a very nice selection of baked goods from sweet kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and muffins for breakfast to eclairs, cakes, and cookies for dessert, or any time that the mood hits. Everything has always been tasty the multiple times we've been here. They also have lunch options if that's what you're looking for. With plenty of seating and WiFi, you can while away a relaxed afternoon. On a another note they do have coffee and milkshakes.

Love this place! Great food, breakfast sandwiches are off the chain! Hamburger is yummy, juicy always made to perfection. Cinnamon rolls are sweet but heart warming yummy. One nice family bakery for everyone.

Top-Notch Bakery. Have only been here twice, but both visits impressed me enough to earn a 5-star review. First visit was shortly after the place opened. Our family stopped in not knowing the place was closing in 5 minutes. The owner was super friendly, talked our ears off, and gave us free baked goods to take home with us. He features the art of local artists for sale on his walls - nice! Heck, he could have told us he was closing and shooed us out. Second visit was more recently in mid-morning. The place was packed with happy patrons. I got an order to go at a very reasonable price. Esposa and daughter had a cinnamon roll (3 votes for "best ever") and I a blueberry scone (1 vote for "best ever" because I'm stingy and don't share my food). I'm a strong believer in supporting local businesses. With ambience, work ethic, food quality, and prices like this, folks should be embarrassed to take their business elsewhere.

Staff and owner are great. Coffees, baked goods and sandwiches are excellent. Ambience is fun and lively. All baked goods are made from scratch and are very enjoyable. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Never again. So, yesterday I ventured over the Rise Bakery to try a few treats. I was convinced to get the burger and the beignets. I requested that my burger be plain (nothing on it) w/pickles on the side. When my burger arrived, it was fully loaded with no pickle on the side. I politely told the guy that I wanted it plain with a pickle on the side. He brought the dish back out with obvious remnants of their poorly executed cover up....ketchup stains everywhere. I check the bottom of the burget and behold, a burger with ketchup remnants. They attempted to wipe off the ketchup instead of making a new burger. When I brought this to the attention of the guy, he gave me an attitude. Once I requested a refund, his bad attitude grew. Not once did he apologize for severely poor customer service. Rise Bakery and Coffee will never receive my support nor will they from friends, family, coworkers and anyone else that I can share the horrific story to.

Chocolate chip cookes!. Excellent espresso drinks and very chill atmosphere. I've hung out here in an attempt to study, but more often than not, I end up chatting with the friendly people who also hang out here. The kolaches are massive and delicious. <br/><br/>Also, dayumn, that's a good cookie.

Nice Place for Me Time. Rise offers a place to chill for a second or two as you have mid morning breakfast, a cup of java, and get on your PC to catch up on work.

I come back again and again. I am one of the lucky ones that work very close to this bakery. I find myself here several times a week. Great prices, fresh pastries, and unique offerings. The staff is very friendly. I recommend this bakery to all my friends. We get lunch catered to our office from here often as well.

Owner is very friendly but it looks like you have to get ther early in the day for the fresh pastries. Show up later than lunch and it looks unappetizing.

Wonderful spot! Friendly service & delicious food! We can speak for the rosemary bread, BLT Panini, chai milkshake (really yummy & addictive), and most of the pastries. I would recommend any & all! Yummy delicious!

Bakery?. There is a very limited selection. Mediocre cinnamon rolls, cookies, packaged single slice cakes, 4 types of muffins, a few cupcakes and square scones that are flat and like bricks. The kolaches are no better than convenience store fare. The coffee was very good. I had a soy latte and it was well executed. They do have an extensive sandwich menu but I don't think I'll come back to try lunch.

Stopped by today and enjoyed the most wonderful Italian cream cake I have ever eaten. I also had a superb triple latte that is light years beyond anything from more commercial coffee shops. To top it all off, the service was exemplary. Definite must if you live in the area or not.

Great products and excellent service! I'm a big fan of the traditional chocolate chip cookie (who isn't) and these guys do a great job of it. They've really expanded their offerings lately and I look forward to trying more on their growing menu.

Excellent chai milkshakes. Anyone who hasn't tasted chai tea is missing out on something special. This brasserie/patisserie offers chai milkshakes that are outstanding, and I'm certain that I'll get more of them in the future. The pastries, however, looked quite, for lack of a better word, lame. They looked factory-made, not hand-made. The bread pudding looked decent, so I'll probably try it next time.

Wonderful Italian Cream Cake. In January 2010, I ordered an Italian Cream Cake for my son's graduation from Air Force Basic Training. I gave them a picture of the Air Force logo. Rise's baker did a wornderful job on the decoration, and the cake was delicious. It was the hit of the party.

MUCH better bakeries in SA than this. After waiting for months for this bakery to open, it was a Huge disappointment - everything we tried was awful and overpriced...would not go back. Sol y Luna for bread and Broadway Daily Bread for cookies and treats is where you should be.

Kolaches gave me an upset stomach, choco chip cookies were mediocre, decor was trying to be artsy. I wouldn't go back. Sol y luna on de zavala may not have the trendy location but their treats make up for any interior short comings.

I love this place!. I bake. I also appreciate local talent, so given time constaints, I walked into Rise not knowing what to expect. Chris, the owner, was extremely patient with my indecisiveness. He not only recommended products based on my particular (very particular) preferences, but went the extra mile by offering me unique samples. His bakery does not overdo the sugar or oil in the products I tried. Light & flaky. Not greasy. Just the way it was meant to be. The americano he made was perfect as well. I envy the people who live close by. I will be visiting as often as possible. You should too.

The best in town. Rise Bakery Cafe is a great place to grab a latte, munch on a freshly made pastry and type away on your laptop or catch up with an old friend. It's a welcomed alternative to the overly crowded corporate coffee shops of the world. Locally owned and operated, every menu item is made fresh daily. They have a wide selection of lunch items including homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches. I got a turkey sandwich, carrot soup, and a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. All I have to say is YUM! If you have something in mind they can create it for you. The owner and staff are all super friendly making it one of those local spots you want to support and see do well. Pass the word on Rise Bakery & Cafe, it's a great find!.....

Worth a try!. I stopped by this location, always looking for alternatives to bland Starbucks. I was impressed with the Barista knowing what a Macchiato really was. It is made the way it is known around the world. The coffee was good, the pastries are fresh and tasty. I do not live in the area, but would stop again if I'm in the vicinity.

Great coffee. I tried the drip coffee and it was mild but had a good smooth flavor. Also a cappuccino that was very good and made correctly with lots of great thick foam. I sampled several muffins that they make from scratch that were very good. Also offered free Wifi and lots of tables some in and some outside. Very clean and the owner was very friendly.
