Found this place last minute and was welcomed with open arms by the owner. We let him pick our tacos for us and we’re not disappointed. The Trash Can taco and Costra phenomenal choices. The were fresh and not just a taco sitting under a heat lamp. My man was superb with his service and his personality to make the morning fun and enjoyable. This place is tucked away and with no outside sign though. Just look for the black windows and the open sign on the corner of the strip. I look forward to coming back!!
Just had my first taco from here and it very well may have been the best taco I have ever had! It was so good that I fought through the pain of a tooth infection to finish it. Painful but worth it!
Good breakfast tacos served quickly by polite waitstaff in a clean dining room. Homemade tortillas and salsa are very good. They are actually located on Stone Hue Drive across from the Select Rehab Hospital next to Elite Karate. The map position is incorrect. It is located East of Stone Oak Parkway. Enjoy!
Simple is Good. Another reviewer mentioned the throes of management change that affected the menu over time as we continued our own breakfast visits there. First it was a much touted hamburger that when we were finally decided to try it, the item had disappeared from the menu. Same thing happened with some of the seafood items. They were out every time we asked for it.
Fortunately they continue to offer a very good product in their breakfast tacos. Always enjoy the hot fluffy tortillas with the prefect amount of steaming hot ingredients and good salsas to whip up the taste buds and precipitate a little perspiration. They do a good job on my ole standby - the simple bacon and egg taco.
Guero's. Great place to eat. I have been in San Antonio for 3 years and this is by far the best breakfast place in town. The new owner is very friendly and accommodating. If you want something that is not in the menu, The owner will make it happen for you.

Great Food & Hot Sauce. Been a customer since they first opened. There have been several owners/managers and the last one let the place get a bad rap. The only consistent person has been Carlos their great head cook. Thank goodness for him, the food under his watch has stayed great, despite bad management. The new owner/manager Angelo seems to have his act together. He has brought the place back. Keep up the good work guys.

I moved to Texas not too long ago and have been really disappointed in San Antonio's ability to serve an honest to goodness AUTHENTIC taco. One bite of the Taco Nortenos and I was in heaven and knew my search was OVER!
Everything was fresh, meat was certified Angus and so tender, and the guacamole is made in house and delicious!

Updated review: They now serve dinner 5-10pm! Their name changed to Los Guerkos. This is a dream come true with dinner hours. I thought I loved their breakfast/lunch menu but their dinner is my favorite! Their refried beans got more delicious and the charro beans are the best I've ever tasted (they just changed up their recipe). La Costa taco is usually my go to but I am now in love with the Reagan burrito and then the La Gringo taco to my surprise is my next favorite. Tried a bunch more and everything was so so good!
Older review: This place is family friendly. They have a nice salsa bar. They have delicious juices and sodas. Their la costra taco is my (and family) favorite! It's so delicious! The trash can taco is so good too (the bacon is cooked to perfection). They have a brisket taco that my daughter loves (I think it's called bulldog taco). Will definitely visit this location often!
Food was delicious, service was great. We're down visiting friends from out of state and was recommended to go here for breakfast. Highly recommend the la Costra. Hubs had the trash can and said it was very good. Definitely would recommend this place for a meal.
Loved this place! My husband got a menudo and it was really good! I tried it as well! I got some guisado and it was super good! The service was great. The staff was really nice. The place was super clean! Definitely coming back 🙌🏻
This place is a hidden gem, akin to a diamond in the rough. The food surpassed all expectations with its incredible flavors. The owner, Bernardo, exuded warmth and hospitality. It felt as though I was transported to my grandfather's home, savoring his delicious homemade meals. I wholeheartedly recommend dining at this establishment. One dish that stood out was the Costra Taco - my taste buds were transported to a heavenly realm and back! I must admit, this place even surpasses my mom's cooking. Apologies, Mom!
Not only are the tacos delicious but the service is the best we’ve ever had! The employees are so kind and welcoming you feel like family. I will be recommending them to everyone from now on!
The food here was amazing. Best bacon and egg and trash can tacos I've had in San Antonio and the owner/staff gave us amazing service.
First time there. Great food, even better service. Guy at register was awesome and I ordered what he recommended. No disappointment. Also, the mango juice was delicious. Will definitely return if I'm in this side of town.

My first time here; the service and care from the owner to his customers is amazing. I was waiting on my tacos when he walked in and while getting my salsas. He introduced himself and asked my name. I could tell he really likes to make his customers feel at home. He mentioned several by name when they walked in to pick up their orders. Anyways then he asked me if I ever tried their mango juice and just poured me a cup. Followed up by him asking me what I ordered and said; you have to try our trash taco, which comes with almost everthing. Gotta say they were both very delicious, thank you so much for the service and care you provide. That is a very rare thing these days and I'm not a local, but will be back when I'm in town.
Also, I noticed other reviews saying food is bland. Well that's what the salt and pepper packets are for. I liked that it was bland, as I seasoned it the way I liked it. I've been to places that used too much salt and couldn't eat it. So I prefer bland and seasoning it myself over already over seasoned and having to throw it away.
This hidden gem has the best tacos on the north side. The La Costra is a must try. There's a salsa bar with some delicious variety including some heat. Staff is super friendly making for a memorable experience. There's seating indoors and out and they keep the place clean. They used to just be open for breakfast and lunch but they just expanded their hours to be open for dinner service 5pm-10pm. If you do catch the dinner service they have great charro beans (a little spicier than their morning and lunch recipe)
Great food, well priced for the amount and very yummy sauces! Also super dog friendly. The owner and his daughter came out and asked if they could give him a piece of bacon! Thanks so much, will definitely be back!
