A unique and homey find, close to downtown SA! Visiting from Austin and needed to find a place to eat breakfast that was by our Airbnb. Very happy to have found Panchos and Gringos!
Drinks are self-serviced. Paper menus are set by the front entrance for quick and easy reference. The owner, Sergio, is very passionate about his food and restaurant. He offered my husband a tour of the kitchen, and we can 100% testify that he runs a very clean and neat kitchen! Also, NO canned goods are used at all, only real ingredients.
Food was AMAZING and authentic. Portions were extremely generous. We got our three young children three Kid’s Meals with Fruit Salad Bowls. It was more than enough food. Our server Carlito was very friendly and courteous.
If you’re wanting to support a local business, I we recommend eating at Panchos and Gringos!

This place is amazing! Little restaurant and the owner is always here. Very friendly and talks to everyone. The gentleman who takes your order has been here forever and very kind.

Amazing hole in the wall. Last breakfast in San Antonio and this is an amazing little spot. Food is incredible. Service takes a moment but it’s worth it. Staff is super friendly and everything is so fresh. I got a bacon egg and cheese taco along with a barbacoa and egg taco with some home fries. Everything was excellent. Drinks are self served and beware of the salsa. The lighter one is spicy and cleared me out. Definitely recommend P&G for an affordable and quality breakfast.

Short staffed but that’s ok, they made it easy with self service on beverages. The special was Chilaquiles Suizas and they were so good! I got scrambled eggs but you can have them however you like. The crème is a habanero base and it’s hot but goes away quick and has great flavor.

So I’ve been here 5 - 10 mins, and Love it already; home made salsa delivered to your table; the place is self-service regarding drinks due to shortage of Staff (very creative); and the owner (I believe) Sergio is very welcoming and accommodating; and the food is Quality all around (everything fresh)! Love the Ambiance and the Friendliness of the place; just a good hole in the wall to try if you like new places! 👍🏽

Great food, great service! The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. This place is small and away from all those chain food places. If you want awesome food at a great place, then try them out! You'll be glad you tried them.

I've seen Pancho's and Gringo's for years and today I decided to go. It was the best decision I've made in a very long time. The food is delicious. The staff, even though they are short staffed, are super friendly. 10/10 recommend

Food was quick and tasty, seasoned perfectly. Had the the all American with over easy eggs, which were perfectly runny. Oh, and the sweet tea is actually sweet, not like most restaurants popping up around SA.

Amazing food, super friendly owner and staff, great service!! Real quality Mexican food made with passion. Sergio (the owner) sat and talked with us, very charismatic and such an incredible story he has to tell. Absolutely recommend stopping in for food and a good time!!

Love love love this place. We stopped on vacation a few years ago and I raved about it and couldn't wait to go back. Each time we went (5)we ordered way to much and were never disappointed in the taste. It was a lot of food for a great cost. Looking forward to another vacation and a stop. Locals need to try this, vacationers need to try this...

Great restaurant , the owner is very nice and welcoming. Food is damn good, I got the Chicken chilaquiles with an egg and cleaned my plate. Please check it out if you can, 100% worth it.

Breakfast is really good, can't wait to try lunch. I had the omelette Mexicano, which had pico de Gallo and cheese. Very light and fluffy and not greasy. Beans are tasty and the potatoes are perfect with crispy, delicate brown edges fried just right. I could eat just a big plate of them with salsa.
Parking is limited to front of cafe but I would not let that stop me from coming back. The owner stopped to chat with us, telling a delightful story about when David Elder from 'Texas Eats' visited.

Extremely friendly staff and kind owner. Spoke to the owner, Sergio, for a while after my lunch and learned how he runs his business and treats his employees. Very respectful and kind, and food was just as good. I recommend the Chilaquiles!

Great place for breakfast/lunch. This was our first time here after a recommendation from a friend. The owner/chef noticed we were newbies and came to our table to explain the menu, which was very helpful. Drinks are self-serve (like go into the fridge if the half & half runs out- and I say this as a good thing). The food has a great fresh-made/homemade taste. The Chilaquiles (NOT MIGAS) were awesome. Coffee was perfect strength and fresh. My wife had the tacos with calabacitas(zucchini) w out the egg, which she loved. My son had chicken and waffles, which he has been trying at different restaurants throughout our road trip, and he reports it's been the best so far (both chicken and the waffle).
Highly recommend this place in San Antonio. We will definitely be returning....like tomorrow.

I had the Salmon Omelet which sounds like an odd combination but wow, it was amazing! The family chicken and waffles and a sandwich (can't remember which one my son ordered) but it was all really great. The staff was friendly and service was great even though it was a busy morning.

Being from out of state we try to find local joints to try - this place is incredible. The owner is so nice and the chilaquiles are a must. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back, and wish we found it earlier in our trip!

Been coming here for years, now. Yes - there is a lot of truth to some of the reviews. Since the pandemic, service has been a little spotty! Anyway, the cook was our waiter due to staffing. Have always appreciated the bang for the buck and even more so - the tastiness (sabroso?)! I was longing for the the "Hillbilly Sandwich" but couldn't accommodate because there is not enough demand since it requires corn beef hash, so I ordered the "Pretty Waitress." (See pic). Egg, tomato, bacon, cheese, on sourdough (i believe) with side of taters! Bottom line - the place has character and great tasty food for the buck! You be the judge!
