Good ol’ Bolner’s Meat Market first opened its doors (at 2900 South Flores in Lone Star) in 1914 - 106 years later (on April 3, 2020) it closed its doors “until further notice” ‘cause of the Covid - and every time I pass by this neat ol’ building in this neat old neighborhood with so much history (a true legacy business in every sense of the word), I wonder if they’re ever going to reopen? I miss them and it would be a great sadness if they remained closed forever - the old neighborhood just doesn’t feel the same without ‘em.

Bolner's Meat Co is a treasure hiding in plain sight. They have been around since 1914, but we have only just discovered them. Located on S Flores, this butcher meets all your meat needs. I came to Texas for a few days. My dad called and asked me if I could find him good beef jerky in Texas. We googled for meat shops and saw this place on google maps. We can here and weren't disappointed. They offer beef jerky in many flavors, like pepper, jalepenio, spicy, garlic, etc. They also sell good meat too. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to taste the different beef jerkies before we bought it.

Love Bolner's.. Sure their meats are more expensive than HEB, BUT you can't beat the quality... Excellent. If I could say I have any problem with the market and I find this remarkably peculiar it's that they don't except checks....I could've sworn I had written checks there in the past... But last weekend my debit card has been lost, and I hadn't received my new one. I had gone on for my usual Hotel Ribs, and T-Bone Steaks, only to get to the register and be denied.. You'd think they'd know these things can happen and like me put me in awkward position.
