Waitress was new and service was decent. The chicken fried chicken was very good. Great flavor. The chicken fried steak comes in 2nd. Still a good flavor but the chicken was better. Chips and salsa was OK. The salsa a bit watery. Chili cheese fries were very good but not a huge serving for 8.99. Could have been bigger! Come on guys! I get the higher prices but it's a potato! Son had shrimp and loves shrimp but was not impressed. Came cause site said 15.99 ribeye. Got here and it's 23.99. So prices are different than site. Chicken fried steak and chicken were 13.99 so good price for amount of food.

San Anto legend near 5 points. One of two places that I know of that has OG Crispy Dogs! The best chicken fried steak in town. Expect to wait , unless you're solo. Then bar seating is a great option. Had a wonderful meal, the place was packed inside as well as outside. I did get seated immediately, since I was alone. The only reason I gave 1 star for atmosphere, ( which really wasn't the restaurant's doing) is because on the table right on the other side of my bar seating, was a family. This family had a 2-3 year old girl that screamed and cried super loud , continually throughout the course of my dinner. Which made it hard to really enjoy my meal. All the adults at that table failed to be sensitive to the other diners. Why , do children get a pass in public for being so obnoxious? I felt like screaming and loudly crying back at her, but as an an adult behaving in the same manner as this tiny succubus, would probably be asked to leave. I wish the manager would have managed the situation. Other patrons in my area were just as perturbed. So I rushed through the meal instead of really enjoying all the delicious care that went into making it. I will definitely return.

This is always a great place for comfort food and childhood memories...great fried chicken...not salty like most...always order the crispy dogs... That's the childhood memories... 3 to an order so get ready for the fight lolol...and cold cold wait for it cold beer in giant schooners...yuumm UPDATE... Never disappointed. We decided to try a few appetizers and use that as our lunch. The onion rings thin sliced onions light batter yum. The super nachos. I remember them being better we both decided it was the picadillo meat that we didn't like. I think the last time I had these they were with a fajita beef meat ..much better call if you get the choice. Then we split a fish burger that was great. Not a high end choice, but we liked it.... And of course we had to have the crispy dogs. I lucked out eating lunch with a lightweight, so they got one and I got two. I think that's actually always my favorite go to. Honestly next time I think I'm just going to order that...ok...maybe two orders... But I swear ill shareLOL. UPDATE...Still the place. Casual. Mary was fantastic! Crispy dogs are the best! UPDATE.. I will never be able to eat here and not start with the crispy dogs. Had the fried chicken, its a 20 minute wait so DONT be in a hurry, but well worth the wait! This chicken is as close to my mom's as I've had. And if you can get one of their famous giant ice cold scooners of beer do it!

Family time. Chicken Fried Steak, salad and mashed potatoes cream gravy and toast. . Spicy Chipotle Black Bean Burger with fries. As always Chicken Fried Steak is out of this world delicious!!! Comfort food. Burger was spicy, savory good. First time I had it. Lettuce, tomato, pickles. Mustard and mayo. Scrumptious. Asked to have fries heated. I like my food hot. For me, no biggie that I had to ask. Staff brought back my fries piping hot. Were so very good. Put ketchup and tabasco. Delicious!!! Overall, the entire staff was very efficient during the early dinner time. Very impressive.

My parents used to come here for their date nights when they were youngins. My husband and I took them here and it was our first time. Loved the food and service. The dining room is a bit dark but it sets a comfortable atmosphere. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. All our meals tasted delicious. Will definitely be coming back again.

MK Davis is an old school bar that happens to serve great food. One of my favorites is the 3 peice fried chicken. The fried chicken is made fresh, so order a schooner, enjoy the cold the beer, and your dinner will arrive in 20 minutes. Hot, fresh, and delicious, you won't regret it. Or order the halibut or cod again the meal will be hot, fresh and delicious. Or maybe the nachos, the chips will be crisp, beans will be delicious, and the jalapeños will kick in the heat. Or a hamburger or filet ala tampiquena, it's all delicious. Oh, and the beer in the schooners will be ice cold. Yes, you'll have to wait outside. Yes, it may be hot outside, but it's part of the ambiance. I've been coming here since 1981 when we could buy beer at 18. I was sent there by my HS coach, who told us to put on some weight. Since then it's been a family staple. It's an event to go and eat at MK Davis. Make MK Davis a part of your family's tradition. Toast family members who are no longer with you. Go enjoy, eat well and have a great time..
