Had not been here in several years, and the last time wasn’t so good. Atmosphere was the same but different, has the same vibe but cleaner. Food was a ton better than what it used to be. I had the pot roast and it was phenomenal. Will definitely be back again soon.

While staying with a family member recovering from surgery at NE Baptist Hospital, I checked out the reviews of some restaurants nearby. Mannnnnn, am I glad that we tried Mama’s Cafe!!!
I ordered it To go and it was ready very quickly, the bartender was efficient, and even thought to ask if we needed silverware!
The food was SPECTACULAR!!! We had the crispy chicken Caesar salad, the Salmon quinoa bowl, the jalapeño popper dip (GET THIS…if you think it sounds good, you won’t be disappointed when you taste it,) and the apple crisp!! The only negative was that the apple crisp would have been amazing, if it were warm.
I’ll definitely be back!!

What a find! Everything I’ve had has been great - chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, potatoes, chef’s veggies, pancakes, cornbread, and eggs. Highly recommend Papa’s Breakfast if you like a sampler. All the compliments to their cooks. Servers are also top-notch. If you’re looking for home cooking in San Antone, look no further.

Ordered pork chops & roasted chicken. Both came with 2 protein, mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies. Food was delicious. Tastes like home. Wait staff very attentive & kept drinks full. So full we didn’t have room for their delectable desserts this time.

After visiting hospital we enjoyed juicy hot burger with Swiss and French fries and fried onions followed by a dessert. DOMINIQUE HERSELF did a excellent service ask for her😊rib and shrimp plate special you need to try ☕️

Woah! I was so glad I checked this place out. Forget about ihop, Denny’s, move over Cracker Barrel, cause this place was great for breakfast. I can’t wait to try their lunch and dinner!!

Our server's recommendations hit the mark, and the chicken fried steak, despite a slightly heavy batter, proved to be a winner. The sides, made with fresh vegetables, added to the overall goodness. Dessert was a sweet finale, with warm chocolate cake complemented by vanilla ice cream. Looking forward to returning for dinner – Mama's Cafe has earned a repeat visit.

Great menu for any time of day. We’re breakfast lovers and Mama’s is a winner from the coffee to the check. Get an on-line reservation for weekends. Get the $5 biscuit. Seriously. No, you don’t need it. Get it anyway. You will thank me for this advice.

The beer on tap was amazing! Electric Jelly fish IPA. The deviled eggs were amazing! Talk about a spin on deviled eggs! The Chicken Fried Steak was Wagyu and amazing. I had the fried catfish....so good!

Was super excited about the outdoor seating but the incessant predatory bird noises to keep doves out of the waterfall was so over the top. The food was decent though and the service was good.
