Review In-n-out Burger - San Antonio

Employees at this location deserve more than 5 stars! We always have a positive experience there. Employees are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, approachable, and consistent. The food was fresh as always, and the dining area (indoor and outdoor) was clean. This location is my family's favorite!

Is a good burger, I go for see if I would like, but sincerely, Five Guy is beyond this burger. But have excellent services in side the store.

Alright, folks. Now, I know we're in Texas and I don't want to ruffle any feathers here but I've gotta say it - I've given Whataburger a fair shake, and honestly? In-N-Out just takes the burger crown for me. Don't get me wrong, Whataburger's got some solid choices, and their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Sandwich on Jalapeño Cheddar is something to write home about. But when it comes to that classic, straight-up, no-nonsense burger? The In-N-Out Double-Double just hits different. There's just something about the simplicity of it. The fresh, never-frozen patties, the melty American cheese, the lettuce that actually crunches. And that special spread, man, I could put that stuff on everything. And let's not forget those fries. Yeah, they're a bit different, cut fresh in-house and all, and sure, they're not to everyone's taste. But me? I dig 'em. But hey, that's just my two cents. Love for a burger joint is as personal as your favorite baseball team or whether you think pineapple belongs on a pizza. So, to all you die-hard Whataburger fans out there, I feel you. We love coming to in n out. We get the same thing every time and this store has short wait times and somewhat clean bathrooms. Super nice spot. (Still love my Whataburger tho…)

My first time here and it lived up to the hype! I got the original cheese burger butnhad my fries well done and animal style! So simple and so good!

Decent burger we pass on the fries as theirs something odd about them. Not sure what’s changed but I used to LOVE In-N-Out as a kid, especially the fries but it’s now an option instead of the standard.

Clean place. Simple fare. I don't believe I've ever eaten at one before - they weren't in the places where I lived/worked/visited until the last few years. The burgers have a unique flavor that I liked. The fries are good too. The place was pretty crowded, so I guess a lot of other people like the place too!

Great place for a burger! Never frozen always fresh! Love the real fries! You can see real peeled potatoes being cut & dropped directly into the hot oil. Can’t get fresher fries than that! Have you looked up their secret menu? They will do extra crispy fries, animal style fries & I’ve seen them make chili cheese fries. No not Texas chili, the spicy red pepper 🌶️ chili is what it looked like. Burgers are always great & again never frozen. The meat is always fresh, maybe that’s the flavor difference. I always get the 4x4 for me, double double for my wife & Flying Dutchman for my dog. Couple differences between here & the ones in California are 2 things. 1) the staff in Cali are super nice & bubbly happy all the time with a smile on their face like they are happy to work there & 2) the lettuce in the burger, in Cali they give you more of a chuck of lettuce & when you bite into the burger there’s that slightly cold fresh crunch which gives the burger a different bite than other places. This location also toasts the buns very nicely. That first bite is a buttery crisp outside & that makes this burger so good. I think they do it pretty well here at this location & I will definitely be back to enjoy some more.

Food was done well, and service was good. Plenty of staff to keep tables clean and place looking nice. 👌 food was good, we ordered a number 2 with a burger extra well and animal style fries . Good job on the food 😀

Best protein burger in town<br/><br/>The regular burgers and cheeseburgers are great but so are the protein burgers...wrapped in lettuce. We like them animal style.<br/><br/>We also enjoy the fries cooked extra crispy though they will cook them regular if you prefer.<br/><br/>The staff is very nice and the restaurant very clean.

Love Love LOVE In-N-Out burger. I don't even know where to start. First off, this place is always crowded for a reason. The staff are all so friendly and professional. The dining area is kept clean when not bustling. I always get a double-double animal style. Incredibly juicy patties, zesty sauce, fresh veggies and soft buns. All around fantastic. Docked a point because the fries are flavorless and unpleasant.

In & Out Burger is a fan favorite for the thousands of Californians who have been transplanted to Texas over the years.  If you grew up in L.A. like I did, you In & Out was a high school hang out with the most delicious burgers with only FRESH ingredients.  Go to your local Whatabuger see how the fries are made, out of the freezer bags, then come to In & Out and watch them take a REAL potato and push it through the fry press.  You just don't find freshness like that anywhere else.  And the the delicious burgers they puts then over the top.

It's hard in penetrate a market where locals love their whataburger and Chris madrids burgers, but In n Out always seems to be busy and for good reason. <br/>First, the service and friendliness of the employees is top notch. Then the place always seems to be clean and tidy. Then there's the food. <br/>The burgers are consistently good in my book. Not going to begin to compare to any other burger joint. The flavor of the meat, cheese, bun, and sauce is a great combination that makes me want to take another bite. The strawberry milkshake was creamy and smooth. Now, I don't like to order the fries, because, well, I'm not impressed by them. They only taste good fresh while dining in, but not to-go. <br/>Overall, good burger joint and nice addition to the SA burger landscape.

Great food but a long distance from our home.. Need to consider one a brooks city it is a booming area with in the process on a lot on new development. Hands down it would do great in this area

Fantastic. The service was amazing !! Not just from one person but from many. The burger was exactly how I ordered it and delicious !! Double double animal style, well done and double toasted. Perfection!

Love the abundant fresh veggies. Finally a fantastic burger with fresh ingredients at a very good price. The meat has good flavor, and the best part, they are always hot off the grill.

My husband and I made our first visit to any IN and OUT on Jan 27th Tuesday.<br/>We are older and we assisted by KENNY we ordered and he delivered our food to our table. Since we were new to IN and OUT we ask him many questions--he had ALL of the answers--very knowledgeable !! <br/>We also ask him to please have our burger cut in half--he did cheerfully, we offered his a tip and he would NOT accept it!!!!!! When it was time to leave he helped my husband and then held the door for us to leave!<br/>With workers like you have in Kenny, you do not need to worry. Better than McDonalds. If this is what alot of people, especially those from the west coast are raving about, we'll I am sorry that this is the best you have ever had in a burger. There are actually really good burger places such as Bobby J's, Whataburger, Longhorn Cafe, Chester's, Biff Buzby's .

Hands down the best ever!. I am from California and let me tell you that now that I live in San Antonio I can appreciate In-n-Out! It is the best, way better than other places here in Texas!

Pretty much the same In-n-Out!>. I've been to a couple or maybe more than that In-n-outs. mostly in CA, recently in Dallas and now here in SA, the burgers are really good and CONSISTENT through out, it's fresh like the way it is. I don't know why so many people gave or wrote a bad review. <br/><br/>The service is great! it's clean and the ambiance is pretty much the same as the other in-n-outs i've been in. <br/><br/>Ps. Maybe the people who says "whattaburger" is better have problems in their taste buds or they've been poisoned by processed foods here in TX that they can't even tell what's fresh and what's not anymore no offense but in-n-out is the best fast food chain imo. <br/><br/>thank you and happy eating!

Cold food. Go back to California. ....Whataburger #1

Nasty. First time to visit and last time I will give them my time or money. The order was wrong, the fries were very cold, had to ask 4 times for my shake. There was only 7 customers in the store and no one in drive thru so why all the stupid mistakes? Asked Manager Luis why we had such a bad experience, " shook his he'ad and walked off".<br/>Enough said about this horrible manager and his restaurant. Run people, run from this horrible place. Find a better burger joint. You will be glad you did!!!

Consistency. People from Cali love them because it reminds them of home. The patties are actually seasoned (not sure why others say they have no flavor) unlike many of the typical burger places. The best thing about them is they are 100% consistent at making a burger. Regardless of where I get one they are always good. Also try a mix of all 3 shake flavors. Mind blown.

It's just "OK"...Not Understanding the Hype.. It was a decent burger. Got a Double-Double with Onions. I like the bun, yum. The patties were just your average fast food patties. I think Five Guys has way more on this place than people talk about. The fries, I am disappointed to say, were not good. Dry and barely warm. I don't get it? What's so great about it? Reminded me of a Wendy's burger, which is good--I like Wendy's! But...not living up to the hype.

Nothing special. To be honest, No flavor and fries suck. Is packed because is something new to San antonio and everybody wants to try something new, but honestly there's nothing like smash burger!

We LOVE In-n-Out. We love In-n-Out and the secret is knowing what to order. Don't be a hater - it's the best "fresh" burger around. We are so thrilled they finally built one in San Antonio - now we need one closer to Bulverde! YUM!

Worst Location. Good burgers from a great establishment but the location sucks. May get better when the next San Antonio location is established. Traffic on Culebra is the worst and probably deters many customers from waiting in the long line.

Double Double. Sorry,I wasn't impressed. I will stick to Whataburger! Their burgers have flavor.

Hello taste buds.. Finally a taste of California. WHATABURGER has nothing on IN N OUT. Yes Texans hate California but their taste buds can not be denied. Taste the freshness of that lettuce, tomatoe, onion and that thousand island with pickles mmm yummy. Consumer demand is all the proof you need. Texans did not know burgers till IN N OUT came to town.

Animal Style Burger. This website is a nightmare. Who designed it, a 2 yr old child!! Forget it!

Good Burgers. That said, I've had some good burgers. These rate right up there with them. But kinda small. I really liked the French fries mainly because there wasn't a lot of grease. We decided to go inside and order to go rather than join 100+ vehicles in the to go line. Good Choice. Staff was outstanding. Efficient and friendly. And more than reasonable pricing. The best thing about the burger itself was all the fresh veggies. I'll go back but it won't be my one and only. WB is still my fave but I am a Texan.

Tasteless review. Finally after a week got the opportunity to grab a bite. Place was pretty clean, small indoor dining wait time was minimal. Really I am still a Whataburger fan, I felt like I was eating a Big Mac sauce taste similar. Fries tasted bland, sorry but will not return.

My first Double Double. I was one of those crazy people the drive thru line. First they did a great job off getting us "in and out". The staff was great! And just for kicks i asked for one of there paper hats and they gave me one

Y'all can go to Whataburger and I will go In-N-Out!!!. In-N-Out rocks! Everything was fresh and delicious! Fries were wonderful, hot and delicious. Burgers were hot, fresh and delicious! If you prefer Whataburger that's fine by me because it's less of a wait in line when I go back to In-N-Out again and again. Y'all can go to Whataburger and I will go to In-N-Out!

Don't waste your money!. Went Through the drive thru since everyone and their mothers were saying how good it was. First off fries were so cold and coated my tongue every time I ate one! The burger were cold you can tell it had been sitting for a while there for a while! And the soda was flat! Never again. Whataburger is so much better

Whats the fuss about?. Of course its going be be busy for a week or two before everyone realizes whataburger is still king of texas unless your from California.

Ehhh.. burgers are delicious BUT. Brought my family all the way out here to see what's the deal with In and Out burgers... and was disappointed with the outcome... don't get me wrong the burgers are delicious. Hot and fresh... old fashioned style... but their fries are hard, dry, and flavorless.. kind of like chewing on cardboard. .. will I come back?? Absolutely NOT... I can get just about the same type of burger at Wataburger or Sonics with awesome fries.

Fresh And Good. When you serve 9000 burgers the first day and 10000 the second you are doing something right. Whataburger it is not so if you like them then continue to going there so the lines aren't so long for the rest of us that love this place.

Ordinary. The lines and crazy traffic associated with the grand opening reminded me of when Krispy Kreme came to town. Just like with Krispy Kreme, it will take about a week for the town to realize we already had something better. Spoiler alert for those who expect something special: It's just another burger chain. I have visited locations in other cities, it is a made-to-order burger, making it better quality and flavor than Mickey Dee's, but not as good as Whataburger.

Bad choice. Whataburger beats this place...rude service, small burgers and fries. Would not eat here again...! Still hungry too
