Saltgrass Steak House

Update 12/22/2023 8pm Dine in +(**) AMAZING Customer Service!!!! Very fast and attentive to everything, including water refill. +(*) Very Clean , Restroom very clean I just absolutely hated how gappy the lady rooms stalls are. +(**) Food was absolutely Delicious!!!!!! My wife and I had the Queso Brisket chip appetizer it was so delicious I wish the meat was cut a bit more we could not separate the brisket is was LONG HARD STRIP but the queso was very good so if the brisket was cut better definitely 10 out 10 but because the brisket was not at it's best today I rate it 5 out 5 , The fried Mushrooms was LARGE appetizer but So good best fried Mushrooms I have had definitely 10 out 10 but definitely a 2nd ranch would be great , we also had the 16oz Steak OMG absolutely 10 out 10 super tender and flavor full and PERFECTLY COOKED MEDIUM RARE STEAK till the LAST BITE 10 OUT 10 , BAKED POTATOES LOTS OF SOUR CREAM and butter definitely 10 out 10 I thought it was loaded but that's okay I should have asked, and that Smoked Mac and cheese looked boring but blows your mind 10 out 10 SOOOO Creamy and delicious! Would definitely recommend and we will be back with friends;) 2020 DON'T even WASTE UR TIME they are NOT ORGANIZED . The waiters are all over the place & lost ! A TON OF orders READY . Waiters just taking MORE orders while other orders are getting Soggy . Like 30 CARS waiting for orders & Some guy said he been waiting a Hr ! and his food was Cold like it was just SITTING there . I canceled both Orders i had RIDICULOUS !

Atmosphere was pleasant,no drama. I order the grilled chicken with a caramelizad sauce with a loaded baked potato and a Ceasar Salad. Chicken was juicy and tender. Baked potato not dried but perfect with all the trimmings and Ceasar was creamy with lots a Parmesan cheese and very tasty. I don’t know if they make their bread from scratch but if I was them I would use the same bread for the croutons (of course baked not soft) . My server was Joaquin and he was very attentive.

Had the famous appetizer of jalapeños poppers…and the Texas TBone and she had the New York Strip. Great atmosphere and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Drink menu was classy and the old fashion that I had was smooth and good flavor. Overall a great place if your wanting a steak and a chance to visit.

We have so many Steak House choices in San Antonio however, we go back to Saltgrass, on Bandera Road in Helotes, mainly due to the excellent customer service provided at the bar by Conner & Gisselle!! They are your greatest assets. We have noticed that customer service has been lacking at other restaurants, post covid. It is refreshing to visit Saltgrass in Helotes and to be greeted with smiles & professional, courteous service. Especially heartwarming that they remember our names! There is no other place we like to visit more than this specific location due to Conner & Gisselle's attention to detail and always keeping our glasses filled and checking on our satisfaction. Let's not forget to mention the Steaks, Pork Chops, and Salmon which are excellently cooked to our preferences and very flavorful. I also love the quick change-ups on the menu's, for when we want to try something different, Saltgrass always has something different to try. Keep up the good work, kudos to Conner & Gisselle, they really need to be recognized as truly exceptional employees by Management. I can only hope that Saltgrass will add Lobster on the menu to go with your awesome steaks.

My husband and I went for a nice lunch and it was fantastic. This is my favorite of their locations since they're always so nice. They were super quick and our waitress was just the sweetest. The manager came out to inform us they accidentally started preparing the wrong cut of meat and let us know there would be an approximate 3 minute wait longer than what would be normally expected. She was very polite about it. Of course, we had no issue with the minor delay (and truthfully probably wouldn't have even noticed), but it was still really great that they came to alert us regardless. We love this location and are more than happy to continue going!

This is still one of my favorite steak houses (affordable) despite the increasing prices over the years. I've never had a badly seasoned steak here, but sometimes the quality of the steak is hit and miss. Occasionally, too lean or too much fat. Yesterday, the steak seemed like it was less than a half inch thick, nicely seasoned and cooked, but it was tough (too lean). The steak fries are always a favorite of mine, and the house salad is always refreshing. Atmosphere wise, it's nice. They play older traditional country music that you don't hear that much anymore, which is great to me. I'll keep coming back when I just want to cook my own steak at home. Cost wise, a 10oz ribeye for lunch will run you $22, a 12oz $28.
