Exactly what it looks like and 5-star experts at it. The awards for the onion rings and chicken fried steak are well earned. Perfect tenderized and seasoned steak with breading that stays on and fried just right. Dip the onion rings in a little ketchup and hot sauce mix for that bite. And classic pies, probably to go at that point. And a great friendly staff. One helluva diner.

This is my first time here. The place is nice and cozy. I really feel relaxed in the atmosphere. We had some onion rings and fried mushrooms for appetizer. The specials were great. Hard to choose from. We had two of the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a salad & one meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a salad. It was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh. We enjoyed our dinner and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back to enjoy this awesome Cafe.

Had a good old time. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere just good home cooked meals. Pies 🥧 are absolutely delicious. We local folk , have known about the LARGE chicken fried steaks, the onion rings are GREAT. The atmosphere for ME is chilled and VERY FRIENDLY. BOTTOM LINE is, when you have a sport legend like Mr. Tim Duncan come and enjoy places with History roots, says it all for ME. JUST SAYING 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
P.S. === on Wednesdays, you must have Patrick’s roast beef plate, absolutely delicious. This place Rocks!!!

Say hello to one of the best chicken fried steaks in San Antonio (maybe in Texas). It’s one of a kind - thin and tender with crispy batter that sticks to the meat. And everything is flavorful. The mashed potatoes are homemade and so is the delicious ranch dressing. Treat yourself to the coconut meringue pie for dessert - it’s taller than the ketchup bottle.

First time there today it was SO good! Service was on point, (thanks Tommy!) and we will definitely be back. Just woke up from a nap after lol! Meatloaf, chicken fried steak, onion rings, and pie, it was all good!

Onion rings were good, pork chops were thick but bland and no seasonIng on steak fries or salt the gravy that comes with the tenders and pork chops is just maybe not for me the tenders had a good batter and were moist. The service was not to great the server seemed like he was swamped but there's not that many tables and I felt like I was holding him up by not knowing automatically what we wanted to drink. Either way the prices are crazy low and over I'd go back and try more. Oh and the blueberry pies was huge and inviting but pretty bland but I loved the pumpkin

Our waitress was super friendly and attentive without being annoying. I understand it is an old-school dinner, but the place needs a coat of paint. Several of the benches have ripped upholstery. We had the onion rings as an appetizer, and it was a large serving nicely breaded. We loved them. The salad was a bag salad that was as fresh as we would like. They make their own dressings, and the blue cheese dressing was delicious. The chicken fried steak was huge, and my fried okra was perfect. We enjoyed our lunch and would go back.

That chicken fried steak tho!!! It was gigantic and i love how they put the gravy on the bottom so it stays crisp. The mac n cheese, broccoli rice n cheese, mashed potatos and fries were all hot and delicious. The rolls were on point!!! Tommy did a great job keeping up with the boys drinking there drinks so fast. Also the onion rings were perfectly crisp with a soft onion. Great spot to come for a hearty meal!

My husband and I each ordered the sampler platter; fried chicken stripe, onion rings, and mushrooms. More than we could eat and so delicious!
