Update: 11/26 I am not sure about this location yet, but, the Quarry location sure did have some hot soup! After my intial review, Salata reach out to make to make it right! It's obvious they care about each and every customer! I will update with 5 stars, once I visit this location again.
I live an hour away from this location. We were running errands and I decided to get my Salata fix on a cool day. I got a tomato basil soup to go. As we drove away, I noticed it barely felt warm. Not even a block away, I opened it and it was slightly warm at best. No steam at all. I could touch it with my finger easily. Extremely disappointed.

Great customer service Jacob, Sharlene and Arron! It takes me 45 mins 2 get 2 your restaurant but it’s worth the drive. The food is great! The environment is friendly and very welcoming. Believe it or not, great customer service creates revenue, so kudos to the owner who hired these employees. Take care of them.

My husband and I ate here for the first time a few nights ago. We were looking for a place to grab a healthy meal. Oh my goodness, the selection here is amazing. Wraps and salads (2 sizes) and ample portions. Tons of dressing selection, toppings, etc. Everything was so fresh, it still tasted great the next day when I had the rest of my salad for lunch. I also added some turkey and seasoned chicken to add on top. I saw they had several containers of lemonade available and a good selection of drinks. There is plenty of seating! They have the whole front facing area of the restaurant in addition to a long strip off to the side of booths. We definitely enjoyed our experience and we'll be back!

I got a wrap and it was indescribably delicious. It was fun picking out all the fresh veggies and such that I wanted. The line moved swiftly despite being lunch time and there was plenty of seating if a bit squished in certain areas. The place seemed clean and the employees were kind.

The best salads this side of the Mississippi! Excellent and fresh salads and refreshing teas!

Salata is our go-to place when we're returning from a trip when we've eaten out a lot and need to get back to a healthier, lighter choice for dinner. We got there at 8:30 pm, but to the crew's credit, everything was fully stocked and the service friendly. Saved the day for us after a day of out-and-back travel! Recommended!

This place is so delicious! I didn't know what to expect before I walked in. Some reviews read buffet while others read salad bar.
Yes, it is a salad bar but unlike what you're used too; it is NOT a buffet. There's two choices for salad size- small and large and an option to make a wrap. The staff behind the counter then makes your salad or wrap as you tell them what ingredients you want. The dressings are so fresh. The bread, croutons and pita are made there. You can add protein for an extra charge. They also have soup, cookies, tea and lemonade. No sodas here folks! It's the best salad place I've been too! Oh and what's awesome is under every booth is an outlet, because we've all needed one at one time or another.

I really enjoy these salads. I'm a big fan of building it on your own vs ordering a pre-made salad. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. I like that there is a big variety so you're never bored. The staff is always patient and friendly.

It's been a while since we've been back to Salata. This location is most convenient for us so whenever we feel like eating healthy, this is where we go.
Love the multitude of choices from the type of greens to the seemingly endless toppings to the protein. Most of the time I get the larger portion and split it to 2 meals - one I eat there and the other I take to work. This time my husband and I decided to each get the small salad. It seems like my husband had so many toppings on his compared to mine. For my protein, I usually like the pesto chicken. Love the crunch of croutons!
Looks like the pita chips seems like a newer option. I got lots of that to crunch on.
Even with the small I still couldn't finish.
My husband tells me we should eat here once a week. Would be a good goal to eat healthier!

Delicious salads, always fresh and great portions! Drink selection is wonderful as well. This is now my wife's #1 favorite restaurant!

Bottom line...It's a salad bar. But a salad bar with so many options that you might mistake your salad for a full blown entree. Which you can do. For about $10 or $12 you can load your salad with literally dozens of quality toppings. Worst part is that any of the protein is a bit pricey and is extra, like $2-$3 or more. But the secret to getting the value out of Salada is dining in. Their To-Go or online order portions are the same price but fractions of the size of the dining in portions, seemingly half or so. But it's still good, it just goes from barely worth it to a rip off if you choose a pickup.

This is a great place to go for a healthy meal. Food is always fresh and they have so many choices. Service has always been outstanding. No matter how crowded it is you never have to wait long.

Very disappointed with the service. My wife and I have been to this location several times and have had good experiences in the past but this time the salad preparer was very un friendly and rushed us the whole way through the line. Also was very skimpy on all ingredients including the lettuce and spinach right from the start. Not normal value we expect from this restaurant. We will not be back.

Thanks!. Thanks everyone for your VERY helpful reviews. My friends and I decided we'd have a birthday lunch and they offered up this place, because of the proximity of it to where we live, but after reading all of the comments we'll be going to Corner Bakery. It's true that it takes a special kind of person to make their business succeed here in San Antonio, especially if you're not from here. We're a very big city, but we like the small town feel, and just like in a small town, we want to be treated with kindness, and feel welcome--like family. Again, thank you all for your reviews! You saved my birthday lunch from being a disappointment and aggravation! Who needs that, right?
Veg Lover
Great veg lunch!. I am vegan and was very pleased with the options at this salad bar type restaurant. I had the "small" salad bowl which is actually a lot of food. I had three types of lettuces in mine, plus almost every veg topping available, and even had three choices of beans to add to my salad, plus quinoa and pumpkin seeds! There was tofu too but I did not add it this time. Actually turned out to be a lot of food for just the $7 small veg bowl price. Will dine here again.

I had mixed feelings about trying salata after reading reviews and hearing from people in the community that the attitude of the staff is less than enthusiastic to say the least. I'd like to say that I was pleasantly surprised but while the food was fresh and tasty (although very overpriced) the staff was just outright rude. Since it was my first time going through the process decifering the menu and choosing what to put in my salad took what seemed like too long for the girl behind the counter who was rushing me although there was no line. She rolled her eyes, repeated her questions sarcastically and did everything except blatantly insult me while going through the process. Although the food was great I don't think I'll come back to a place where the staff is so rude.

Now charging $5.00 to split a salad. Been going there since it opened and always enjoyed their large salads which my wife and I always split since my wife doesn't eat very much. Was told today at the checkout by the manager that he would be charging us an additional $5.00 to split the salad. My wife asked him where in the restaurant it stated that and he said "they were working on the sign" and she said she would be paying for it when it was posted. The manager was very nice, but at $15.00 for a salad with chicken - I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. - Big mistake!!!

Third time here , first time went smooth and last couple times (manager and workers) have been stingy about salad portion asking me if my wrap will be big or not.. As i was explained the first time i came in it never mattered , workers have such an arrogant attitude that doesnt matter how good the food it it makes it annoying to even talk to them.. Sad thing is .. They can care two dimes about business .. They saw a couple clients upset including myself and did nothing...

Great new restaurant! Everything is very crisp and fresh! So many choices to choose from. Something for everyone. Have been multiple times and it's always good.

Half a handful. Depending who is the server that will be servicing you when ordering. The portion amount of veggies you will receive is determined by the SIZE of the servers HAND! Which usually is very small and disappointing. The salads are tasty, very good but as others have commented the portion is extremely small. So, if I love tomatoes, I will only get a small..small portion! A Petite young girl size handful. My 9 year old son hand is the same size. I understand the owner is being cost effective but come on, I'm paying for it! I believe he is in the wrong restaurant field. I receive more yogurt by the ounce at ORANGE LEAF and it is my choice how much I want to add and sprinkle onto my yogurt! I just believe he should embrace the same concept!!!!!

Cinchy and overpriced. Been there several times now for salads and wraps. Whatever you order from the salad bar expect about three pieces of the item. If you politely ask for a bigger serving you may get one more piece added. There are no signs that topping amounts are limited. The same for the bread. One tiny slice / piece - that's it. For a $10.00-$13.00 salad one hardly gets a filling meal out of that one. Owner is hands on at location and promotes this very cinchy attitude. Cannot recommend.

Good Greens. Close proximity to reagan high school where it is a meet up spot after school . I always have the cucumber wrap with lemon dressing and salmon and various fresh goods. The variety is extent and always fresh and clean. The owner is very strict on new employees and comes off rude. The workers are always face paced and the wraps might not always be wrapped tightly but over all very good , I come back week after week and so will you.

Chinchy. Went there today with 4 other co-workers. They are stingy with the toppings, a pinch here and a pinch there. Don't get the soups, more cheese in the broccoli soup than soup, more tomatoes in the tortilla soup than soup. If the owner is not from Texas where everything is BIG in texas, then he should go back to wherever he is from, don't think I'll return after reading the first comment above. I can make my own salads without the expense and uneasiness of getting TOO much. Don't worry places like this will not last long if we spread the word.

Greedy owner. This evening I went to Salata in Stone Oak (San Antonio, Texas). I "discovered" Salata about 3 weeks ago and since then I have been eating, ordering and buying to go salads about 3 times a week because I liked very much the healthy concept. Until today I was a happy customer. This evening when I was completing my transaction (a $34 dlls transaction) the manager or the owner approached me. I honestly believed he wanted to tell me how much he appreciated my business and even to suggest a frequent buyer or costumer card or something like that.

I was surprised that he told me that next time I ordered that many toppings he will have to charge me extra. I told him that I had no idea that the toppings were limited, there were no signs indicating imitations, and he even went further in his greedy comments when he mentioned that "all the cheese that I put in my salad was enough to broke his business". I tried to defend or justify myself and told him that I didn't even touched the spoon, but instead his employees served and controlled the portions. He responded that his employee had many years working for him (irrelevant comment since the business is new).

Bi the way, I just made myself a salad online order with exactly same ingredients as I did today and obviously I was not charged extra at the online option.

He made me felt bad. I will never ever return to a place where I am supposed to chose the way my meal is prepared but at the same time I feel observed and limited.

That individual was rude, and if he is to become broke it won't be for the cheese that went into my salads but for his unfriendly attitude, lack of appreciation of business, and greediness.

That is not regularly the Texas attitude and friendliness that we are accustomed to experience in our State.

The business concept is half of the success, the other half is the attitude, friendliness, cleanliness, and appreciation of business.

Thank you,
Marilynasberry
My family went to Salata this weekend. Loved the food. All of the food was made fresh and they had a variety of dressings including light dressings. We also enjoyed the pineapple green tea. They are reasonably priced. The salads are big. The price is 8.00 plus 2.00 for meat. They have soups for 2.00 a cup little more if you would like a bowl. There wraps looked awesome. The staff were extremely courteous and pleasant. We need more healthy choices and I will go back. It was a great experience.

Everything except the tomatoes were fresh, though they monitor the amount if veggies per salad closer than the government monitors national security, considering its $8 per salad a little more veggies would be reasonable. The protein added to the salad is one or two ounces of chicken. So if you are diabetic or expend lots of calories this place isn't for you. And no diaper changing table!
Passepartout-Too-Too
Souper Salad has a distinctly working-class aura about it, while Salata cultivates a more professional, hip, slightly upscale ambience. We went at half past noon on a Thursday, and found the place packed with medical and realty people from the surrounding area. There was no parking available in the immediate area, but I didn't consider having to park beyond the driveway a great inconvenience. (Though, as is my wont, I didn't pass up the opportunity to grouse about it to my friends.) The line was longer than the architecture of the place anticipated, but apparently that was only because someone ahead of us in line was one of those people who just cannot make up their mind. As soon as that person was through, the line dwindled down to something more in line with the architect's expectations.
