I've been going to Good Time Charlie's for 35yrs. Always a Good Time at Charlie's. The food is excellent. The staff is excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. Do yourself a favor and order the Enchiladas Charlie's Style...YUM!! Fyi....Meg is the best waitress ever!!!
My wife ate here many times 10+ years ago, and she remembers that because it was so good. We decided to go here for date night last week, and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed reading some of the sports articles on the walls and learning about the history of the restaurant. We both ordered the award-winning chicken fried steak. It was great! The gravy has a different taste than what I’m used to, but it was still amazing. I absolutely recommend the chicken fried steak, and next time I will try something different.
I mentioned this restaurant to my parents, and they told me there was a food court in Houston, TX called Good Time Charlie’s in the 1970s. Not sure if there’s a connection?
A San Antonio tradition. We have been going for years and always enjoy. They have the best chili dog in town and I always spruce mine up with bacon. Outstanding. My wife had their chicken fried steak which is more than a meal, but wonderful.
We got steak fingers and an old fashioned hamburger. Everything was fantastic. Staff were all very friendly and service was super quick. Not kidding, our order came out within 5 minutes of ordering. Will definitely be back again.

Birthday Celebration for a childhood friend.
Nuts, Bolts and Rings. Chips and Queso. Burger and fries. Chicken Fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. And toast. Hot Chocolate Fudge Brownie a la mode, for the Birthday Girl. Hot cup of coffee.
You can never go wrong when you walk in here you know your food will be fresh and delicious and service will be great. Any other place around here will be a gamble, take your chances or don't. Just come here :)
My new go-to place for chicken fried steak. A little on the salty side, but the mashed potatoes made up for it. The steak was a little tough to chew, yet it didn't spoil the overall quality and experience of the meal.
Charlie's has the feel of a long standing local treasure. It's the sort of local place that stood the test of time somehow making it through COVID and we're all better for it.

It was my first time in the joint, but somehow it felt like I was going home. Maybe it was because they treated us like family. They sincerely cared about us and worked in earnest to ensure we were well served and satisfied - but without hassling us.

The flavors were well-balanced, providing just the right amount of kick without overpowering the taste of the steak itself.
The portion size was generous,the overall experience here was fantastic. The ambiance was cozy, the service was top-notch, and the chicken fried steak was the star of the show.
