We were craving Italian food and wanted to try this place out. I love going to small business places to show my support. It's a small place yet very warm and welcoming. I especially love the huge chef statue in the front. We were a party of 4 and was able to seated right away since there was not many there. Unfortunately no one came to wait on us for 25 minutes so had to ask for a waitress. Afterwards everything was great , waitress was really nice and was patient with our orders. The food was excellent, great flavors, great portions and prices were reasonable! I strongly recommend this place for anyone interested in Italian food.

The food was absolutely amazing and the portion sizes were REALLY big! Calamari was hot and crispy, chicken lasagna was piping hot, salads were fresh and crisp and the chicken parmesan was HUGE! Food was truly amazing, sadly the service was very slow! Four to six minutes just to get drinks ordered and another five or so minutes to actually get the drinks. Outside of the poor service, it was a five star experience!!

This was our 2nd year hosting our family holiday dinner at Umbertos. And again, the food, service and drinks were off the charts fantastic. Sarah, our server, was top notch and provided excellent service to my family of 20 peeps; she was the best and never missed a beat.
The lemon butter shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, complimentary bruschetta, and all the main dishes and desserts were soooo delicious! Thank you Umbertos for always going the extra mile!! Our family will see you next year again for our holiday dinner tradition!!!

Decided to try this place.
Cute place. My server MICHELLE was a delite & on point from beginning to end. Answered all our questions, made recommendations, to no disappoint. She described a red wine I asked her about it & she was again on point! It was suoer delicious!
The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! Stuffed mushrooms were great, as well as the muscles.
I got the chicken picata, my daughter got stomboli, and my husband got seafood linguini plate.
The busers were very nice, & picked up every empty dish on the table.
Highly recommend!!! A+++++

Everything here was amazing and well portioned!
We got the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, Farfalle Creamy Pasta, and Chicken Gorgonzola! Everything had plenty of sauce and tasted great!

Love this place! They are so accommodating for our Red Hat lunches. The food has never disappointed, and I try something different each time I go. They also have a mildly sweet red wine (Romeo?) That is just wonderful.
And the staff is so friendly and make our lunches even more enjoyable.

Salad was fredh and fantastic. I loved the dressing and the artichoke hearts. The eggplant was good, but I do like the eggplant at Roma's better. Service was excellent and atmosphere was very nice.

Well, this place lives up to its reviews. Came with free bruchetta to start. The food was excellent, and they were not stingy on the portions. The side salad and soup were, hands down, delicious!! Not to mention fantastic service. This is how you earn 5 stars.

Place is beautiful inside and staff is very friendly. Leo was our waiter offering and informative on the menu. Although we had a little mishap he was very apologetic and nice. Food was amazing and wine was fresh and divine to me. Thank you Leo for your wonderful service and smile.

Our first time at Umberto's was a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my niece and my daughter's joint birthdays. We ordered several dishes and shared family-style. Wow! Everything on the menu is delicious! The fettuccine, the farfalle, the penne, the meatlover's pizza, the cheesecake, the tiramisu, the Caeser's salad... literally, everything was delicious! Thanks for making our family birthday celebration so memorable!

Very good Italian restaurant. Food was very good and they serve enough to fill the biggest appetites! Already looking forward to our next visit.
I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. I loved that they were not greedy with their sauce. Plenty of sauce to have enough until the last bite. My wife had the Chicken Piccata with angel hair pasta. My only complaint was the bread rolls. I'm more of a soft roll fan. Do not prefer the crustier outside, but it was still good. I did appreciate the soft butter served with the rolls. So irritating when restaurants give you hard butter.
Desert was also a good portion, I couldn't even finish my Creme Brulee. My wife said the Tiramisu is the best she's ever had!

The baked ziti was the best pasta I’ve had in my entire life. The service was some of the best of any restaurant in San Antonio. Local family restaurant environment and great prices for the portion sizes. Free bread!

I ordered a Beef lasagna with soup. They have a soup of the day. The food was very fast and the waiter would play a game if your a first come. The service was very consistent and had no flaws.
The atmosphere is very dim but look nice during the night.

Found this hidden gem simply by perusing the internet. Had really good reviews and my wife and I both liked the menu. So we headed there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed.
Bruschetta was deld to our table free of charge as we were seated. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers, main entrees, and dessert. We had chicken piccata, chicken lasagna, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp Umberto, and cheesecake.
Fantastic food, great service and very affordably proved.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Never mind the remodeling outside. The food and service is first rate. The grilled salmon is best I have ever eaten. Sorry Di, but better than yours. And I love how you prepare ours.

We've been going here for the past two plus years and love it! The owners are so nice and the staff is awesome. We've been here countless times and have never had a bad experience. It's nice to have a local place that is amazing so close. It's very affordable and we never leave hungry! Only thing I can suggest is to get an espresso machine, it'd be nice to have an espresso after an amazing dinner. We'll be back again and again.

Melissa and the staff here has gone above and beyond to make my lunch experience wonderful! I came in with a sleeping 3 year old and they got him a comfy spot next to me to continue to sleep! I’m currently eating a Margarita pizza that reminds me of my time in Italy and listening to soft Sinatra in the background! All and all, this lunch was perfect!!! Thank you Umberto’s- you have a new regular!!!

Service was terrible. Refused to seat me. Instead, they gestured for me to order from the bar. I ended up having to request they seat me at a table, and even then they served my Dine-In order in a bag. They never bothered to check if I wanted take out or not, which should have been made obvious when I requested a table so I could sit down and eat.
Food was okay, but I can get the same or better quality food for a lower price elsewhere. It really is not worth putting up with this low level of customer service.

Two days ago my family and I decided to take our mom out for an early Mother's Day dinner at Umberto's restaurant. I can say the the customer service was good, but the food was less than adequate. The sauces were bland (including the Alfredo)and pastas were over cooked. On top of not being satisfied with the food, my fiancé got food poisoning from their food. This review is not to shame this small business, it is to make them aware and help them improve their restaurant's food quality and sanitation practices. Even though I will not go back to this restaurant, I wish them the best of luck to improve their food and cleanliness.

Food was good. We thought the complementary 4 small pieces bruschetta we received was for only 4 person rather then a dish of anti pasta The Wine list needs to offer other choices from house wines to quality wines as well as beer.
The ambiance was lacking. To sterile in appearance, needs, some paint (Venetian) & redu the picture locations. Way too many small pictures on large walls & larger pictures so high on the wall you can't see them. You need a good interior design person.
Also, when the restaurant is 1/8 th full & servers are standing around, they could be filling water asking if you'd like another beverage. Never checked.
