Review Blanco Bbq - San Antonio

My brother and I had lunch at Blanco BBQ on Saturday. We hadn’t been there in a while since he moved to the Valley years ago. We really enjoyed our food and the portion sizes too. They also have a great complimentary condiments bar with jalapeños, spicy marinaded carrots, sliced onions and salsa. Great additions to your meal. He had the brisket and sausage plate and I had the pulled pork with potato salad and coleslaw. Delicious food at a fair price. The restaurant was clean, has friendly staff and fast cleanup when patrons leave. This restaurant is child friendly with a large play area with tables for guests with children to enjoy meals outside. I will definitely be back.

We had brisket sandwiches. The sauce is great. I liked the buns. Overall it was good but not great as in I’ll be craving it and it was the best I’ve ever eaten. The onion rings are made in-house and are good. Overall, I’m glad we visited. They had live music and have a big outdoor play area and deck for the kids.

Flavor: B Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A The chopped brisket sandwich here hit the spot! It was just as good - if not better than - it looked in the pictures. I also liked the sausage and the sauce. I can’t say that the sides hit the spot in the same way. I had the Mac & cheese and the cream corn. Both were perfectly fine but nothing unique or very flavorful. I’ll be back for that brisket, though, and try some different sides.

We held an event here and was super impressed. The catering manager Marina was super friendly and help. She made it easy to book the event and even showed me around before we booked to make sure it was going to work for us! They have an area to set up, TV to hook up to for presentations and a mic with sound system. Great layout and place to host your next event.

Went for a birthday. The food is unbelievable! Fried okra and green beans like granny made! The meat is just amazing! Brisket, ham, turkey, ribs, pulled pork, sausage melts it your mouth. Good smoke, not overpowering. Very friendly and professional staff. Will be back!!!

This is my favorite BBQ place! They have fantastic potato salad, and the meat is so flavorful. My husband absolutely loves that they have ham as well, but my favorite is the brisket. There is plenty of seating and the service is fast even when they are slammed. They have a play area out back for kids as well as a party room for events. We'll be back many times over!

What a beautiful day it to enjoy some barbecue outside. This us one of our our favorite places to go when we are down here in San Antonio. The ribs were the best.

Service was very friendly, food was good. We ordered the 1/2 BBQ chicken with brisket, onion rings, and fries okra. Also the chicken fried steak with green beans and mac n cheese. The chicken fried steak was a little tough and the mac n cheese was a bit runny for our taste. Although the BBQ chicken was good. $$$

I really enjoyed dining here. They didn't have the best BBQ in San Antonio, but it was really good. The pork ribs are highly recommended. The creamed corn and other sides were also good. The restaurant had plenty of seating available, and the tables weren't cramped together, which was nice. There is also plenty of outdoor seating available. They had a drink station with fresh ice tea and a good selection of ice-cold beer and wine. The prices seemed a little high, but the dining experience was worth it.

Overall the food here is pretty good. However, I am only going to give them four stars because of their high prices. Look at the picture I attached to this review. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and a glass of water and it cost me $10.81. That's ridiculous! If they're going to charge this much I mean come on, that should include a side and a drink along with the sandwich!! And to top it off, they ask you when you order up front if you want to add a tip. Really, you order at the counter then they call your number and you have to go back up and get your food. It's not table service people. Why would anyone want to tip for that? Here's a tip. The management should take some of the money from each order, since they charge so much, and give it back to the workers. Just sayin.....

I know there's a lot of good barbecue around, but I really really like the atmosphere, the flavor, the portions, the fact that they have vinegar onions. Great indoor great outdoor. Great for kids. Good family atmosphere. I really like the brisket. It was a Sunday afternoon and they were super busy, it took almost 20 minutes to get our food but outside of that I will 100% go back again and again.

Great BBQ choices. The condiment bar and drink selection are impressive. Portions are satisfying for any hungry person. I tried the cherry crisp, and it was amazing.

Ribs and brisket were dry and lacked luster. Ham was excellent. Sausage was not fully cured through. Peach cobble was more like peach pudding.

Passing Blanco Barbecue several times over many years, we decided to stop for Father's Day around 6:00 PM. It is located on Blanco Road between Bitters and Wurzbach Parkway. We knew it would be popular, and it was. When we ordered, we were told an hour to an hour and a half wait. It turned out to be just under an hour. All but one of many tables in the large dining room was available. There were also a lot of outdoor tables, but with temps still around 100° degrees, most diners preferred air conditioning. Separated from the main dining room was a "Party Room" filled with many patrons. To accommodate a couple of hundred customers was a large parking lot with lots of shade trees. Getting down to business, Texans know good, slow-smoked barbecue. Smoked brisket was our obvious choice: one "medium" and one "large" order of lots of brisket, two sides, and limitless soft drinks and tasty condiments came to about $34 dollars for two. My wife had charro beans and creamed corn as sides; I chose good ol' cole slaw and potato salad. My cole slaw was especially good: creamy but not too creamy. Some restaurants serve slaw as an after-thought. This cole slaw lasted as long as it took to eat the entire meal. The tender brisket was not too dry and lasted a long time. Barbecue sauce was on the table but not really needed. I had three slices of soft, white bread, but there was plenty of brisket to eat with a knife, although a knife wasn't needed to enjoy it. We left Blanco Barbecue very full and very satisfied.

Delicious BBQ, brisket, sausage, and ribs all had really good flavors with perfect smoke taste. All sides were also really good. Fast service and plenty of seating. Also, have plenty of condiments for your BBQ. The quart side were plenty. Perfect place for the whole family to enjoy some really good bbq

This place is by far one of the best barbecue places in Texas. We have gone back a few times already. I highly recommend the pork ribs they are out of this world, very tender and the Smokey flavor is so good. I also loved their Mac and cheese. The fries are also good. The onion rings are good but not my favorite and the mashed potatoes are delicious. My husband tried the chicken fried steak and it was huge he couldn’t finish it. The chicken tenders are huge but there was too much breading in them for my likening. Their barbecue sauce is delicious and I love that they have the drink station out so you can get your own refills. For 3 people we spent $50. Well worth the price. Plus my husband also got a beer.

The Ribs and sides were good, the brisket....well that definitely needs there attention. The brisket was dry and lacked flavor. Needless to say I didn’t eat the rest of the brisket. I observed this place had been open 5 years and saw some good reviews this drew my interest to try it. If I can recommend something to them it will be quality control on their products. Without quality control all business will falter. I hope they get on the ball as it’s a nice place.

Yesterday I went with my two daughter's 10 and 6 years old and they got the kids meals. There was so much fat on their brisket more than half the serving was fat on the plate I just gave my daughter from my plate and called that $27 a loss. My plate was perfect I don't know maybe they thought a kid wouldn't notice. The staff were kind there but they should have more consideration when serving a child's plate.

Love the food- the green beans are sooo tasty! And the BBQ sauce is delicious, meat melts in your mouth.. love this place.

We were not disappointed, very good food and atmosphere. We are from northern Michigan was the best so far in San Antonio.

San Antonio TSA must really like your BBQ sauce. They took the bottle I packed in my carry-on luggage to bring home to Beloved Hubby and left the french perfume I forgot to put in the plastic quart bag with the other liquids..and the lighter my stepdaughter slipped in my bag! Your sauce is more dangerous than a sticklighter!

Bbq is amazing, sides are awesome and drinks are cold! What more could you want? Oh yes they have live music! Fabulous all around! What Texas bbq is all about. Ribs are off the hook good!

Can't think of a worse bbq experience. Meat was dry and flavorless, bbq sauce sucked, and expensive.

Eat here often and consistently good! Staff is friendly and there is usually live music on the weekends. I recommend Blanco BBQ.

Great food, full portions, and good taste. The place has the classic Texan-Country style, suited both for family and friends.

It was great ..gem in our own backyard and didn’t even know it. We will b back

Love the baked potato with brisket! They have a playground for the little ones �

The saving grace of this place is the kids play area in the back. The baked potatoes are good. The brisket, not so much.
