Review La Tuna - San Antonio

Great Happy Hour deals. Awesome customer service, and now they serve cocktails and margaritas. They have something for everyone! Great beer and craft beer selection too. The grill has really good food too!

Hadn't been in a few years. Recently met up with some friends and was impressed with what La Tuna is today. Aside from cold and very reasonably priced beer they serve some really good pub grub style food also at a good price. Their wings are top notch! Very cool laid back place to enjoy some good food good beer and good times with friends!

We went there for the fish tacos and weren't disappointed. It was my friend's first time having a fish taco ever, and I caught her smiling several times as she was chewing. As for the tacos themselves, this place isn't messing around. The fish was fresh and prepared well, the 1,500+ reviews didn't lead us astray.

We were recommended to eat at La Tuna Grill by someone living in San Antonio. We started out with appetizers “Loaded Fries” and “La Tuna Wings”. We give those two thumbs up. Then for our main dish I ordered the “Cheesy Burger” (so amazing!), my husband ordered the “Beer Battered Fish and Chips” (he loved it) and our adult daughter ordered “Grilled Cheese and salad” (she enjoyed it). The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly (especially the cashier). We enjoyed getting to know her and we shared stories. As for parking - we stopped during a time it wasn’t busy and had no issue. Everything was great!! We can’t wait to visit and eat here again.

This was our first time here and it was a very pleasant experience. There was a bit of a wait standing in line to get our order in but that’s a good thing when people enjoy the food and come back. The food came out within 15mins after placing our order and everything was seasoned well. Everything tasted fresh and the chef definitely knows his stuff. He was killing it!! The food was all on point and we will definitely be coming back. The waitress was doing an amazing job. She is the epitome of what a great waitress should and strive to be. She was very courteous and being very attentive to not just our table but everyone else around us, making sure cups are filled, and checking up to see if anything else is needed. If you’ve never been here before, the place is perfect indoors and out. The parking is a bit small and would probably be easier to go during less busy times to find a parking spot. Also, do yourself a favor and get the hot skillet apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. You won’t regret it.

Excellent food Was delicious. Photos you will see great presentation food was warm and tasty. We sat up on the patio portion as it was away from benches. If you sit on the benches may get missed and was to crowded. We ordered blacken Grilled Chicken with had two fillets of chicken, really filling. Half order of mushrooms enough to feed 3-4 peeps. I had house salad. Was large portion with a coup of soup of the day witch was a large amount for the cup. You can go inside and order or sit at table then order or wait for staff to come to you but will get missed. I do recommend taking sweater as it’s chilly in spring time in San Antonio. 5 stars for good amount of food and atmosphere!

1st time here. Fried Mushrooms and nachos were really good. The seasoning was just right. It would of been better if they sold hard liquor and had some music. Great atmosphere and family friendly. Friendly staff!!!

The service here was stellar! After finding out it was our first time, the cashier gave us a thorough explanation of menu and restaurant. The indoor seating is a little cramped, but there are tons of outdoor seating, perfect for once the weather cools off. I tried the quesadillas which were fine, but their fish tacos really hit the spot!

This is one awesome establishment, great vibes, great selection of alcohol awesome dishes and super cool surroundings. Easy to access with Southtown and downtown a blink away. Not to mention the service was absolutely phenomenal, the prices for the portions of food were absolutely unbelievable, especially for where this place is located and for the quality of the food! Nothing short cuts about this place, all great food with quality product for a fair price!, by far has been one of the best places for me to visit while out cycling with friends.

I hosted a work event here. Amanda and her team were so helpful and very responsive. They had everything ready when I arrived and were very attentive to my party. Thank You so much Amanda for your hospitality!

One of my favorite lunch spots in SA is LA Tuna. I ordered the torta de milanesa. One of the best tortas I've had in a long time. My wife ordered the chicken fried sliders, my torta had Chipotle mayo, black beans, and a generous amount of avocado. We ended the meal with the outrageous brownie Sunday.

Really great food and ambiance is nice. Wish they would have live music. Maybe they do but I just haven’t been there. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious.

First time trying this place and I liked it. I like trying fish tacos at different places and I think the fish sauce could have had more of a tang. The fries were good too with plenty of cheese. The parking lot in front is extremely small and tight. You'll likely have to park down the street.

3 $ beer special every day! Food and service is really good too! Service is superfriendly and efficient! You have to get your drinks from the bar and they will charge 20 $ and give you cash back. Just FYI. Michael is the best bartender!

Been coming here for years. Due to darn covid had not been back . Till yesterday 8-16-2022. All I have to say is WOWZERS. food was amazing , colorful , beautiful plating . Staff is super friendly , inviting and wonderful. So great I returned back the next day 8-17-2022. The Chicken salad sandwich was tasty . Cool and refreshing. Just delicious. Thanks so much for the awesome time.

La Tuna is a good spot for lunch! I ordered the fish tacos and they were good, but I was the most impressed with the nopales salad! It was fresh, light, and very flavorful. It is a bit small inside, but there is plenty of seating outside.

The service was excellent and the lamb sandwich was tasty! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and loved the outdoor picnic tables. It's a cool spot to have a beer and enjoy some food with friends.

Let me start by saying the brisket burger and the fish tacos were outstanding. This is more of a story than a review, you been warned! A friend took me here after a meeting when I told him that my wife wanted good fish tacos. The atmosphere was nice, inside and out, parking is a bit of a challenge, especially if you are not driving a motorcycle. So we placed our order and waited for our food, I was approached by a middle-aged Caucasian woman, who appeared to be in distress! Now I mention her race only because I'm an African from Detroit 6' plus, 220lbs...so she approached me and asked if I could keep her company because she was a little afraid. She informed me that she was awaiting a Lyft. She further offered that she did not drive. I noticed that she didn't have a visible cellphone, so I asked her how long she had been waiting. She said I had been a while, but she unsure of the exact length of time. I asked her if she had the app on her phone, she said that someone else had called. It became obvious from her actions & nervous tone, that she had some mental challenges. I asked my friend if a taxi might be a better solution. He suggested we stick with the ride services. I pulled up the Lyft app and began to schedule a ride. The woman clutched my arm & began to cry. The Manager of La Tuna came out and informed me that she had scheduled a Lyft over 30 minutes ago, and that she had come out to check woman to ensure she was okay. Well, I didn't exactly shed a tear, but I did clutch the woman's hand and assure her that I would not leave until she was in the Lyft. As a man with 4 sisters, I have always hoped that other men would be as protective of women in distress as I am. This was truly a huge act of humanity that is sorely lacking, a big Up to the Manager of La Tuna and people like her everywhere, who refuse to overlook those in need. You're truly amazing! Best place to take your friends and family! The beer is always cold and the bartenders are always kind and courteous!
