South Alamode - San Antonio - Photo album

"à la mode" is a French term that translates "in the current fashion". Gelatos and sorbets have a luscious intensity of unique flavors that change often. Cozy Italian cafe atmosphere. Don't leave with out trying one of their delicious Paninis made with meats and cheeses imported directly from Italy
Awesome place to sit with your family and enjoy some homemade italian ice cream. I tried the panini Mela Dai. And even though I was skeptical about the green apple and turkey combination, I must admit it was delicious. The caffeine latte is also great, not too white, and not too dark. The establis
Stopped by for a quick dessert on a Friday night. There's about 5 tables inside, a small sitting area, and a small table outside. Most were just eating ice cream, so the tables were clearing out quickly. They have paninis and other small bites, but ordered the gelato. Ordered the small as the sc
Really liked their Panini. Luigi and Caprese panini was vegetarian and was very good. It is lite on spice, fresh, healthy and very filling. Definitely highly recommend to give this place a try. We also tried 2-flavored gelato - chocolate and goat cheese caramel, it was okayish, but we will surely tr
Don’t let some of the hourly employees deter you from checking this place out. The shop is fantastic with even better products within. I think it beats out all other on pure gelato…so currently our favorite. Must go!
This food was delicious as always. Ice cream is amazing and they even got sparkling water if you wanna feel like you’re in Firenze. I had a Luigi Panini. She had a sottobosco. Both fantastic.
I first heard of South Alamode from a recent visit to Little Em’s Oyster Bar. I remembered our server mentioning that the sorbets served there were from South Alamode. We were at another restaurant last night for dinner and decided to stop by after to check it out. My husband particularly loves gel
This place has been on my bucket list for months. I’m from the East and temporarily retired here in San Antonio. I’ve been searching for a great gelato place. This place is WONDERFUL ❤️❤️ The owner told me he was trained in Italy (4 years training) His gelato is homemade , not from a powder mix. I h
Ordered the Panini Havanese and another that I cannot remember the name of - both were amazing! Very fresh and authentic.
I stopped by yesterday for a sweet treat for my daughter. Very, very good gelato!! My daughter had the mango sorbet and Mexican vanilla. I was tempted by the goat cheese, strawberry, and macadamia. Yum!!! We shall go again!! Parking is a bit difficult as it’s shared with the blue star complex
The paninis are incredible and well balanced. Never knew I could enjoy turkey, grilled apple and brie so much. The goat cheese & raspberry gelato was the perfect treat as well.
I've had a lot of gelato all over the world, and this ranks up near the top. It's authentic, but also not afraid to try non traditional flavors and combos that work amazing. I chose to get a cup of goats milk and strawberry, and a scoop of peanut butter laced with Nutella. Not only was it like a PB&
Got the goat cheese & cashew flavor plus the Mexican vanilla flavor. Really good texture and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. I highly recommend the goat cheese flavor if you are a big fan of the cheese. Mexican vanilla is also unique from traditional vanilla flavor!
So good had to come back twice in the same week! They had amazing sandwiches and gelato! My favorite is the pomegranate sorbet but all the sorbet I had was delicious!
Wow! South Alamode exceeded my expectations. I don't venture far from the typical flavors when it comes to ice cream, but they're chocolate and mexican vanilla bean is very good. And so freakin' smooth. Very friendly customer service. A/100 too.
Great gelato, sandwich wasn’t what I was expecting! Parking is limited and car not visible from store. Great location because you can walk along or sit by the river.
Nice spot to grab some gelato or a cup of coffee. My son had the chocolate ice cream and really enjoyed it. My wife had the strawberry and said it was very rich. I had an espresso and it was fine. All in all a good place to visit if you're in the area. They also sell sandwiches and paninis but we d
