This has been one of our favorite restaurants for date night for over a decade. We noticed new management and new servers who are not as attentive or as polite as the previous staff. The food is still fantastic, but the experience is not the same with this new, younger staff and management. This is what we noticed. Our server, who was more experienced and time efficient was excellent!

When you have to judge a place you have to take many things into account, the food is good, the photo says it, but I couldn't find parking, although I was the first customer because the restaurant was empty, I lost a lot of time, and it made me experience uncomfortable

Great little spot. Food was good. Pretty solid across the board. Had a crew party, we had mostly steaks. I got the New York Strip. It wasn't a great piece of meat, but it was cooked perfectly. Onion rings didn't have any salt. Desserts were okay. Wine was excellent. For the most part the service was great, until the waitress shut the heater off. Just to make us leave. We probably dropped $500 on food and drinks. Not cool.

My friend and I came down to see what saint Josephine was about. It is a very friendly family type of environment, and the kitchen is open which is really nice to see the cooks work their magic. Our waitress was really nice. I got the chicken fried steak with gravy and a side of broccoli and it was delicious. This chicken fried steak was very tender gravy was not too thick. It could have used just a tad bit more thought but overall it was very good and the broccoli was cooked perfectly and it also had a hint of lemon which was nice. My friend had the sausage and cheese queso which was a little interesting when we got it at the table. It had slices of sausage and sauteed onions on the top of chips and then the little side of queso. It was not too bad. The spinach artichoke dip was very good as well could have been cooked a little bit longer for the cheese to melt all the way but other than that it was pretty good. We would definitely come back and visit.

We ate here at recommendation from a long time friend we were meeting. From the outside it looked so small but we were impressed. It isn't as small inside. Our waitperson was absolutely the best. Since we hadn't seen our friend in a while, we ask her if we could stay and visit as long as there was no wait line. We also left a very good tip. She said we could stay. The food was delicious and we had really, really enjoyed our first visit there. We will go back!! Excellent in every way.

The home cooking is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. This is an old fashioned diner, with a TREE in the middle of the room! I highly recommend!

Iconic restaurant in San Antonio. This was our first time eating here. Ribeye steak was tender and delicious but they are thin cut steaks. Same with the porkchops. Good flavor and tender but the thin cut you get at HEB. Definitely not the thick cut meats one would get at a higher end steak house. The sides were delicious. We loved the sliced fried potatoes that came with the chicken tenders. The Broccoli, corn, mashed potatoes and onion rings were tasty. Friendly and professional wait staff. Attentive and made us feel welcome. The tree inside the restaurant was a unique touch. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food but we were just a little disappointed the meats were the very thin cut.

Love the old school diner experience and hospitality. Food was delicious and prices very reasonable!

Spinach Artichoke Dip was incredible! Ribeye was ok, more of an "American diner" cut than a thick ribeye. Moscato was fantastic and from a local Texas winery! The chicken is highly recommended.

This is a nice little American style restaurant. The staff are nice but do hover a bit. Our waiter watched us eat for several minutes. Other than that, it was a nice experience.
