We had a really amazing server helping with our company holiday party. His name was Ruben. He was so kind and patient throughout the night despite how hectic it was due to multiple parties going on at once. He deserves so much praise and recognition for his great service. Thank you!

So good! Great salsa and chips! I am so picky about such things! The only real issue was that there wasn't enough baskets of chips or bowls of salsa. We had to reach ALOT! The food was attractive and tasty! I would love to go back! Stunning building!

Quintessential San Antonio Tex-Mex. There are so many delicious menu options. Yes, they charge for chips and salsa now, but the salsa is great, and the chips are the chips of my restaurant childhood. Excellent service and great SA atmosphere.

Service is fast, but they could improve in their friendliness and make you feel at home. They serve traditional Tex-Mex food. Didn't order chips and salsa because I read that it's not complimentary. The food was served promptly. It's well seasoned. The enchiladas were too sweet for my Mexican palate... I wouldn't order it again. The nachos were pricey for 12 counted chips. They were tasty, but I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I wouldn't return because their prices are a bit too high for average Tex-Mex food. I am not impressed with this restaurant. The ambiance was cozy, though, and quaint. If I ever decide to come back, I'd order something different from their menu.

Great place. I gotta say they stepped up. We had a group, one afternoon, that we sprung on them and, seemingly, we weren't the only ones. 3 or 4 rather large-ish unrelated groups popped in about the same time on a Saturday and the staff took it like a champ. Beverages were a little slow getting out, but again, we were the largest of 3 or 4 groups. It's understandable. We slammed them and they did their thing. Food came out hot and as ordered. no complaints there. Way to go folks.

This is my favorite place in San Antonio to go to have a great plate of Mexican food! I really like a family owned business, and that one of the owners will be dropping by your table to make sure everything is great. They really care about good service, too. The El Jefe margarita is the best in San Antonio! When they bring you chips, I recommend asking for Henry's Salsa - not that the red salsa is bad. I just love a bit more spice.

Found it amusing reading the many reviews complaining about the chips not being free 🙄 they're 1.99 extra....1.99! If 1.99 is that much of a burden then maybe do yourself a favor and have dinner at home. We ordered a large guacamole and a large chile con queso so our chips were included but I'd have no problem paying for them. The salsa they give you is not too spicy but really flavorful. Our waiter was super attentive and made sure we were good from start to finish. Highly recommend 👌🏼
