Sangrias at happy hour shouldn’t be missed!!
Very good food and exceptional drinks! All their drinks are well made and really huge, especially the margaritas. Atmosphere is always inviting and energetic staff is always really quick to attend to your needs. The food never disappoints and they have some entrees you don’t find in most restaurants so worth trying. Friendly happy staff every time I’ve been here. Music and ambiance is excellent!
Being a lover of Mexican food and while in town on business, hotel mentioned Rosario's as a must do and we were not disappointed.
A short trek from the convention center area of town (fun to scooter over), very open dining room with old time chairs and tables.
The chips and salsa were great starts with blended margaritas alongside. Had the shrimp nachos to start things off and they were amazing. Entree Pola Maria was fantastic, as well as the flautes.
Service was excellent which complimented the outstanding food and beverages. The salsa was so good the server packed a to-go container with chips for our hotel room.
Highly recommend!
This is a good spot to enjoy some real Tex Mex food. The service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. Different than the run of the mill Tex Mex as you could taste the difference.
We dined here on a Monday evening around 7 and had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table but just enough time to enjoy a beer at the bar so no hardship.
Overall it was a very nice experience!
The food was incredible, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the fire roasted salsa. My only complaint was that it was very dim lit. We were seated back in a corner by the restrooms and our table was the only one without a lit candle, so it was a little too dark for my liking.
Wonderful casual Mexican food. Big windows look out onto the colourful neighbourhood. SUPER FAST and personal service- I asked our waiter to recommend a not-so-sweet margarita- he brought out a delicious one. Highly recommend :)
Rosario's is not on the Riverwalk, but it IS absolutely crawling with locals, which is just one of the attributes recommending it for your visit. Another? This totally baller posole soup, which is a chile-laced, lip smacking bowl of pork, hominy, and gentle heat that you enrich yourself with a small plate of fixings like fresh chiles, lime wedges, and diced radishes. It was rich, bright, full flavored and absolutely a taste of Mexico you don't find at your run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex spot.
Because I never know when enough is enough, I also demolished the pulled chicken puffy tacos, which are nestled in fresh flour tortillas that are deep fried so they puff up into crispy pillows for a mound of savory, juicy shredded chicken meat bathed in a tomato and chile sauce, with shredded cheese and a shower of lettuce. Refried beans, served on the side, were 100% made with lard and you know what? Praise the pig for that, because they were creamy and earthy and just slightly sweet - the ideal of what beans aspire to be. Roasario's earns a solid eight on my BHS scale.
Not super special, but solid Mexican food. I got three enchiladas a la carte and the poblano pepper. All were very good with some depth of flavor. The crepes for dessert were the only disappointment - too thick, not much flavor; ate the ice cream and left the rest. Next time will try a flan.
Overall an acceptable option.

Great authentic food! You can tell that this place is a local favorite ... It is packed on a Monday night! Great food, fast service, good prices ... A must stop when in San Antonio!
After seeing all the Mexican restaurants in San Antonio I felt that I needed to make sure I chose the right place. Rosario's was recommended to us while at a bar so we thought we would check it out. Wow, what an amazing meal! The flavours were spot on and food was served quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy. Definitely recommend the sizzling plate! Yum!
Good service , Food is amazing ...The Menu is totally Different ..Maxician Cafe catina is placed on very peaceful location ..i love it
I thought this place was very okay. You're really paying for a good Instagram photo up on the roof with your drink and the location. Speaking of, be prepared to do a few laps around the block looking for parking, especially in the evening time. In their defense, unlike a lot of restaurants in the area, they actually have a parking lot, but good luck getting one. Our waiter was really nice. My Chipotle chicken was alright too. Overall, I have nothing negative to say, but nothing overwhelmingly positive either.
We went here the 1st day of our anniversary trip and we're pleasantly surprised as we just stopped in. The service was impeccable (thank you Ben G). The food..WOW! The salsa was perfect! The Chicken Chipotle was beautiful but amazing!!! We also had the chicken enchiladas which were great and so flavorful. I had a House sangria margarita and it was perfect and not overloaded with sweet and sour like most in town. We walked from our hotel but because parking is hard anywhere downtown but it was well worth the not even 10min walk. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I had a very nice dining experience at Rosario’s. The margaritas were exceptional and the guacamole was excellent. Our dinners were very good as well. But, there was a rushed feeling as food was delivered before drinks were done. Also, our main course was brought to the table before our appetizers were finished. That’s why I rated it 4 and not 5 stars.
You won’t be disappointed with the food. Parking may be tough in this area but there is a parking lot up and to the right of the restaurant’s main entrance. About $9 for two hours and $13 for four. This newer location is a lot bigger than the previous one, and tables are actually reasonably far apart you don’t feel like you’re on top of other people. It’s still difficult to carry on conversations due to the open seating layout. Service was great food came out quickly on a Thursday night. We didn’t wait at all for a table for four. Most importantly, the food was delicious. And you can’t go wrong with $1.99 chips and housemade salsa. All four of us were happy with our meals. Definitely recommended.
Overall ok restaurant/experience. It appears to have a lot of bells and whistles and some cute decor, but it lacks the charm of the original location. The chips for me weren’t the best I’ve had nor was the chipotle chicken, but overall ok. Parking is horrible. Probably best to take people that are from out of town that want a bit of that San Antonio feel.
Crystal was our server and she was amazing from the start of introduction. She educated us on the history of Rosarios and told us how great this place was, told us about the hours and even elaborated on what the restaurant has to offer shebhas A+ customer service skills !! She deserved a promotion she truly loves her job!! Maria Tober, Realtor and owner of 1 Solution Apartment Locators
Wife and I went to Rosario’s for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time there since they moved to this location. We loved the previous location so we looked forward to this visit. They did not disappoint. The food and drinks were awesome! We started off with top shelf margaritas. Then, we both had the fish tacos. We finished the night off with their Mexican Chocolate Flan. Everything was perfect! The service was exactly what you would expect. Fernando was very attentive and helpful with our questions. After our meal we went up to the rooftop terrace and bar. We had to take some pictures so we could post them here. We highly recommend Rosario’s. It remains our favorite restaurant in San Antonio!
If you are looking for great tasting Mexican Food in San Antonio. This place has a great atmosphere and great service! They have an extensive drink menu with lots of traditional drink options. Start your meal with chips and salsa, add the queso for a perfect appetizer. Their portions are on the larger size. Everything was delicious. Finish with dessert, highly recommend the Arroz con Leche, definitely brought me back to my childhood!
We came around 9:30 pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The waiter, Sal, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious; we ordered the bean and cheese nachos to share, perfectly portioned and tasty. The drinks are flavorful and fresh. We ordered the Enchiladas de Mole, Chile Relleño, and the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo. Every dish was hot and excellently prepared; food was fresh, well seasoned and well portioned.
I had an excellent celebratory lunch at this restaurant! The customer service was fantastic, and there was ample seating available. The environment was very welcoming, and the restaurant is suitable for larger parties. The prices for the food were very reasonable. The pozole was absolutely delicious, and some of the best I have ever had. The beef fajitas were tender, well-seasoned, and tasty. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and the food was authentic and fantastic!
