For me, this place is perfect for special occasions. I have a soft spot for italian food, and Valenti takes it to the next level. This is not just pasta, sauce, and meat, but inventive and authentic italian dishes. The chef is italian as his wife/charming hostess will tell you. She is great with faces and makes you feel welcome. This is the best fine dining restaurant in San Anselmo.

Service and vibe is spectacular. The food was good, but really over-priced for what you get. I ordered a salad and it was plain, the steak was really nicely done but such a tiny portion for the price. If the salad, steak and the 3 polenta fries had been a meal, it would've been good.
Was in town for a few days, staying at the Inn attached. Maybe a different order would be good.
Had 2 glasses of wine, a salad and a few pieces of steak for over $100. Bit much.
Also wish the bread served with meal had been better.

Wonderful neighborhood spot - cozy, quiet-ish, and a super menu. I loved the pasta with brussels sprouts and pancetta, and my friend enjoyed the large veal chop. Good by-the-glass wine list - and excellent service. A special shout out to the man bussing the tables, who did not stack anything. (not even the bread plate) Highly recommended.
One of the best restaurants in Marin! Chef Valenti and the team got it all. I could have dinner there every night.
This place is so much more than amazing food, it's an experience in excellence. I haven't experienced service like this in a very long time. My husband and I each ordered a glass of wine, but once I tasted his, I didn't want mine. The waiter noticed I was sipping on my husband's glass and he brought me a glass of what he was having. I was impressed at the waiter's level of attention. We mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and to my surprise we were given top notch wine and a cake to celebrate. The wine, the cake, and the 1st glass of wine that I didn't care for were not on our bill. Not to mention that the food was phenomenal! It's one thing to have an amazing menu, but it's quite another thing to have such an excellent staff. Needless to say, this place is our new favorite.
Beautiful, traditional Italian food. We had the beef belly meatballs and radiccio and peach salad for starters. Honestly the perfectly cooked and seasoned meatballs were unlike any I've had before, absolutely delicious. The rabbit ragu pasta was also fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.
Italian chef-owner Duilio Valenti is the best in town! His dishes are made with organic ingredients from his own backyard! All his pastas are fresh made in the house, and all the dishes made with love!

I would give more than the five stars if it was possible. My wife and I stopped in while walking by. Both glad we did. Everything was top notch. We sat at the bar had a couple beers and some wine. Started with the salumi platter, then the gnocchi, then the steak, wrapping it up with an espresso and the pannetoni-misu! All of which were outstanding. The service was exceptional, the ambiance warm and inviting, the cost I found very reasonable. We will return and highly suggest others to stop in.

Amazing meal - we sat in the back patio. Everyone loved their food, great wine (yummy super Tuscan) and nice attention to my 4 year old. He loved their homemade pasta with butter and tore into the focaccia. The server sliced up a peach for him as well. We will be back!
The food and service at Valenti are wonderful, whether taking out or eating inside (in the good old days). The pasta is always awesome, the fish perfectly prepared and our favorite chocolate tower is decadent without being heavy. The service is friendly, competent and welcoming. Perfect for a special occasion or a weekly treat.
Super fresh and locally sourced ingredients, hand-made pastas, fantastic chef and a fun staff make this one of my top 3 favorites places to eat in Marin on a regular basis. The wine list is one of the best as well. Christiano and Bianca are always helpful if you need a few suggestions. Highly recommend this place! Try the gnocchi!
