The Cafe is inside the Salt Lake Hardware building so it's not intuitive to walk into an office building. However, it's just down the hallway in common space so no issues.
The food is good and the service impeccable but the prices are a little high for what you get. A sandwich with some chips is $14.99. Based on the portion size it felt a bit over priced.
As far as atmosphere, the building is old and had a bit of a musty smell but it was very clean and the architecture is cool and historic.

My favourite spot for lunch! Phenomenal selection of delicious sandwiches. Highly recommend to try house sandwich and clam chowder. They also provide best Italian coffee in downtown area. The building has a special atmosphere with the modern factory design. Plus you always feel welcomed by the owner Sandra.

I recently went to this Cafe , it has a cool and cozy environment, I tried the chicken noodle soup which was freshly made and amazing ! I recommend trying it if it was on the special menu!

This cafe is amazing, being a college student it’s hard to find somewhere that’s delicious and well priced. Well, city cafe ensures both deliciousness and great pricing. The owner is a very sweet lady along with the girls who work there. My go to is the prosciutto sandwich when hungry and a cookie and coffee for a snack. Their coffee is delicious and well made (for all those coffee lovers as myself) Overall, this cafe is amazing and I wish there were more like this one.

I am not one to write reviews, but I could not not write one after trying City Cafe. I recently just found out about City Cafe from a dear friend and decided to check it out. When I first arrived I was so warmly welcomed and told about all the specials. I ended up getting the recommended number one special - which consisted of fresh clam chowder, half a warm panini sandwich, chips and a drink. Not only was it delicious, but the price was unbeatable. I ended up grabbing a coffee to go for my walk back to the office and it was some of the best coffee I've had in the Downtown area. Can't wait to start making City Cafe my weekly lunch spot.

This place is amazing and prices are very fair. I am a college student at the University of Utah and always come down to City Cafe for lunch. The owner is the sweetest person, and the customer service is PHENOMENAL. The food is tasty and always fresh. I highly recommend trying this place out, for it will become you're new favorite place for breakfast or lunch!

Fantastic soup, the salads are very fresh and if you are lucky enough to be there when the meatball sandwich special is being offered then you have scored. A place you can go for a quick bite or to sit and get some school or work done with a great cup of coffee.

The staff is so sweet! The lady checking me out was so glad I tipped she gave me a free cookie. Y'all please tip. Factor the tip into the price of what your ordering or don't order. A lot of people survive on tips.

Love this place! Easily the best coffee in SLC.
The decor of this place was great - incredibly urban and modern - which made me like it even before the coffee.
