First time here,, walked in and there were a few patrons,, we we're greeted immediately and sat at a clean table with clean menus and our server was polite and efficient. The food was Delicious!! The horchata is excellent, and they also have beer but I ordered the Rena Del sur appetizer- shrimp, octopus and mango ceviche, LOVED IT!! My husband didn't like it so much, said the juice was too fishy but I like sushi & he doesn't so keep that in mind if you've never had this dish before. We both got the asada chimichanga and wow!! The flavor was incredible, I'm glad I got extra rice to soak up the sauce because that was so good together!! I purposely didn't order water because I've thought SLC county has had terrible tasting water since they voted to add Floride to it years ago - my husband grew up in Weber County, had well water; and spit the mouthful of water back into the cup saying it tasted like chemicals.

I feel bad about the people who had a bad experience with this place. Mine was FABULOUS!!!! Ordered a smother burrito, tamale and chips w/ salsa. I order with door dash. My food was out of this world amazing. The flavors where all there. The burrito has a spice kick to it, my nose ran a little but the flavor was still there. The carnitas where cooked perfectly, same quality as I would get at red or blue iguana. The retried beans tasted as if they are made from real lard - the beans are so rich and flavorful I wanted to just eat them by the spoonful. Tamale was ok - not bad not good. I also got a side of sour cream and man did they give me an amazing amount. Other place charge you $1 and give you one scoop. This place gave me an almost full container of it. More then enough for my burrito. I can’t wait to go back

It has been SO long since I’ve had really good authentic Mexican food. Born and raised in Los Angeles and having the best Mexican food cooked by relatives has spoiled me but I realized I took it for granted when I moved to Vermont for two years and then moving to Salt Lake City. Been here a year and a half and have not been able to find good Mexican food until now! Service was impeccable, felt oh so welcomed just like you would at my parents place or grandmas! Hospitality and service was there, the food was freakin amazing! I got the carnitas tacos and was so relieved at the flavor and taste! My brother got two carnitas tacos as well and some tripa! Did not disappoint. Don’t even get me started on the aguas frescas! That horchata man! Will definitely be making that long drive a weekly thing, just for this food!!!

Full slabs of cooked all day goodness, like it's been done for centuries. And the flan, oh my, a perfect match to the best carnitas ever. More rich and denser and creamy than I've ever had. Go! You'll thank me.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. Amazing service from Pedro and the kitchen staff and everything was so good. Especially the carnitas. They made a tiny mistake on my order but they surprised me with sopapillas for dessert to make up for it 😍😂👏 I would definitely come here with my friends if we are looking for something to eat around 9pm. Hard close at 10, sounds like.

I came in expecting delicious food, and the astor chimichanga and chorizo tacos I enjoyed easily exceeded expectations. Service was delightful, my server took the time to explain how each dish would be prepared and what was included. Will be back. Frequently

Everything I tried was good. The only negative was there was very little fish in the ceviche, even with that it was still good

The service was great, staff was friendly, and food was delicious. Large portions and hot Mexican food. My kids ordered chicken nuggets, and they were homemade! I will definitely return when visiting West Valley again.

Get. The. Birria. Addicted. I've been getting this every day for lunch but the jalapenos I order on the side are super inconsistent. Sometimes they come with awesome cooked onions. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes I get 3. Sometimes I get 2. Today I got like one whole one and a half chopped up and these things are effing RAW. They are delicious when properly scorched. I did not order raw jalapenos. 🙄 But usually they get it right. Still 5 stars. The small tacos are perfect and if you're a 'cilantro is soap' person, they bag the cilantro, raw onions, and limes on the side so you have options.
