This is a really cool hang out coffee shop. I order a Turkey Cranberry Sandwich and a Strawberry Crepe with a regular latte. I like when the sandwiches are toasted and warm, but this one did blow my mind. It was delicious, I don't really like crepes a lot because they're always sweet, but this was on point. I will come back to try their other sandwiches.
fun nostalgic inspired café, a great spot to hang out and play board games with friends or do homework with roommates. with lite options for a quick bite, or meals for an afternoon study session with friends, you're going to find everything here from coffee and muffins to soup and sandwich. lgbtq supportive with vegan friendly dishes as well, everyone is sure to love the food and downtown vibe offered here.
i usually get their signature "Van Halen" coffee when i go, which is a medium brew with a blend between vanilla, hazelnut, and Carmel flavoring, resulting in a delicious 'macchiato' type drink, which tastes phenomenal, hot or iced (I've had both).
i really love the blend of rich yet lite flavor in their crepes, and their sandwiches are to die for. (i usually get the gobbler sandwich and sometimes, if I'm really hungry that is, a beautifully crafted, freshly cooked strawberry crepe)
i could not more recommend this place as one of my favorite coffee cafés in all of salt lake city.
This place is great! Chill vibes, kind and helpful staff, fast WiFi, and good background music. The London Fog is very tasty. I’d come back!
A fabulous cafe to visit in salt lake metropolis. Despite the fact that it isn't always extraordinarily centrally positioned it truly is near enough to be at the center of salt lake city downtown area, for a handy drop-in, when in the vicinity. It's far first-class and huge inner, with masses of seating and loaded with the artwork. There are vegan options to choose from and the espresso was very exciting. Team of workers is notable pleasant, and site visitors are gently engrossed with their work and each different. There is certainly a restroom, which is usually a plus for wandering thinkers like me, but you do need to ask for a key. The instant surroundings are very lucky to have this lovable place for coffee and a few rest.
This is one of my favorite cafe in Salt Lake City. It's located near downtown, and has ample street parking on both sides. The cafe has a very cozy and friendly ambiance, that attracts the younger crowd to study or just chill. The interior looks very vintage, with wooden chairs and tables, and a couple of sofas in the middle-very hipster. If you're not engrossed in your studies, or having a casual conversation, there's bookshelves with many interesting books from all genres, or board games to keep you entertained. We often play couple of games of chess, while we're sipping our tea.
The sweet crepes here are one of a kind, they're simple (not many variety on the menu), but elegant. Choose one of their four sweet crepes (Traditional, Strawberry, Nutella, P&B Banana), and they'll craft it before your eyes-truly an art of its own. I recommend the Nutella crepe, as it contains the strawberry and banana from the other crepes, and the Nutella is the cream on top. I'm not a fan of the chocolate sauce they drizzle on top of the other crepes, it tastes like dilute chocolate water. The Crepes are amazingly delicious though, very thin pancake filled with whip cream and fruits-healthy dessert anyone!
Lastly, they have a great selection of tea and coffee. I usually get the Marrakesh Mint Green Tea. I remember the first time I had it, it was so good (lightly minted and refreshing), I looked up the brand (Mighty Leaf) immediately, and ordered a couple of boxes on Amazon. Nothing beats a good Nutella crepe, while sipping a cup of Marrakesh Mint Green Tea, casually conversing or intensely focusing in a game of chess with your buddy-life.
We love this place. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. You can get sweet crepes or meaty meal-type crepes. Either way, they are delicious and will fill you up. They display paintings from local artists and are part of the SLC gallery stroll. There are always students here studying, so it has kind of an intelligent vibe.
Cozy and quaint. Great hang out and get some work done spot. Love the vanilla tea! They have other than milk choices. I ordered a scone and was assured there was no citrus in the blueberry scone. Well since my tongue and mouth started tingling as soon as it hit my lips I can’t bet my life on them being right. #allergygirl
Nice relaxing place! Has some latin vibes going on with acoustic guitar music playing in the background. There was only 1 barista in the morning and so the wait was about 30 minutes to get our coffee and breakfast. All good as he was very polite and friendly.
We got the 3 vegan empanadas, the vegan Mac and cheese, the vegan banana bread, the Van Halen (hazelnut and vanilla latte) and an oatmilk latte.
Empanadas: 2/5
Banana bread: 5/5
Mac and cheese: 3/5
Van Halen latte: 3/5
Oatmilk latte: 2/5
The place has a lot of space to sit at and a few books and pantings for sale.
Great food, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The inside is very cozy and it’s a nice place to sit and talk, do homework or just enjoy your meal. Would highly recommend to any in the SLC area. Also has some Argentine food as well!
The crepes are to die for!! Try the Nutella crepe but ask for cream because it’s a little to much. The barista was very nice and knowledgeable of what she does. I usually order ice latte. Today I had smoothie. It was okay.
I Love this place. I was looking for a unique coffee shop and the “Nostalgia Cafe” came highly recommended. I wasn’t sure where to park as I approached my destination so I pulled up in front. There was an alley that went behind the location but I wasn’t sure about parking so I backed up and parked on the street, besides I was just quickly going to run in. It was to cold to sit outside but with weather permitting, there is outdoor seating that would be lovely.
As soon as I waked through the front door I was in Love. Big overstuffed couches to lounge in and several different sizes of tables.
*First I checked out the mug collection they had for Sale. Couldn’t see a price but they had a few different styles.
*I ordered an “Iced coconut Chai & a Sweet Potato (?) Muffin. The gal helping me was delightful and had my order ready in no time.
I decided to sit and enjoy the ambiance. There was a cabinet full of books which also held some games. As I looked around I spotted an officer outside writing a ticket for a parked car. Yikes!! Before I could take many pictures I dashed out of there as the officer walked towards my car. As I backed up to parking spot I hadn’t seen the No-Parking sign behind me.
CHECK THIS FUN PLACE OUT!!
This is a lovely cafe to visit in Salt Lake City. Although, it is not extremely centrally located it actually is close enough to central Salt Lake City downtown area , for a convenient drop in, when in the area. It is nice and large inside, with plenty of seating and loaded with art. There are vegan options to choose from and the coffee was very enjoyable. Staff is super friendly , and visitors are gently engrossed with their work and each other. There is definitely a restroom , which is always a plus for wandering thinkers like me and my friend, but you do need to ask for a key. The immediate surroundings are very fortunate to have this lovely place for coffee and some relaxation.
Great spot in downtown salt lake. I had the Van Halen and it was excellent. Not too sweet and not bitter. The space is beautiful and spacious and full of amazing local art.
Here is what you do: wake up early on a Sunday and go downtown SLC to this little cafe! You won’t be disappointed. I’m obsessed with their Nutella crepes! Their drinks are always delicious too. I’ve tried their empanadas before and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of seating
Areas inside perfect for meetings or just coming here and studying!
I like this coffee shop (we went here on March 11 to work on an interview)!! They are located downtown so parking was not easy, but the atmosphere immediately changed when we walked in. They have calm and wide space with good music, so even though they were a bit busy, it didn’t seem crowded or crammed together at all.
We tried two lattes that were recommended by the employee at the register, which we loved and the crepes was a great addition.
They have free wifi, the couches are great to have in a coffee shop (big props!!).
I will come back to tried their lunch menu for updates later
Got a caramel latte and the turkey cranberry sandwich. Both were very good. Coffee was in the top 10% of all coffee shops I’ve been to. And I appreciated the unique a very delicious sandwich. The barista was helpful and had a good attitude. I’d go back next time I’m in Utah.
Update: we came back again because I was craving that turkey cranberry sandwich. Didn’t disappoint.
