Review East Sea Restaurant - Salt Lake City

We have eaten dinner here for over 15 years. The vietnamese food is great and the traditional chinese dishes are good also. The wait staff is attentive and quick. Any questions regarding the menu or food items are fully answered. The prices are good and the portions are filling.

This was great food for the price and way friendly. We came a but late as a last minute random alternative to McDonalds. They were way cool about wanting our buisness after hours. Usually I never do that but they were way cool about it. I'm glad we did because I will be coming back for more. It's my new favorite place. ;)

Quality pho, just very empty for dining in, most of the customers were ordering take-out orfers. Made us feel a little awkward there being in a decent sized restaurant, and were the only table taken. Very great food and nice staff as well.

Absolutely magnificent. East Sea has been around for a while, the inside is a bit worn but it feels comfortable and they treat you very well there. The food is very good and the portions are generous for the price.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've ever been too. Food is excellent, cost is very affordable, quiet restaurant with LOTS and LOTS of room. I can't tell you how awesome this place is, you just need to go try it for yourself.

Love the food and they deliver! Been going here for 15 years and never had a problem with the service or the food. The only thing they could change is that the location is in a scary area and the restaurant is severely outdated! Overall it's a great place to grab some Chinese!

Surprisingly good Vietnamese food. The location on North Temple is kind of questionable with many homeless and pan handlers seemingly everywhere. But a nice little restaurant with good food.

I was worried when I walked in and the restaurant smelt funny and the lady said "Sweet and Sour Chicken", but I ordered the pork. But I was pleasantly pleased with the food. It was very yummy!

We eat here at least once a week. Either dine in or delivery. Every time we are met with friendly service and good food with great prices. Never disappointed.

I always order the Vermicelli noddle soup with Vietnamese Egg Rolls, it's the best. The poor service is due to their culture but I have always been treated with kindness.

There food is good..gotta try it..last time i was there i ordered dungeon crab..which was great only bad part was it was missing a few legs unless the crab was a veteran or it loss its battle in the kitchen due to hungry chefs...

The hotel staff recommended a Mexican place, but we couldn't find it. Returning, we pulled into a shopping center and decided to try this place. It specializes in Chinese and Vietnamese food. We both had Chinese. The food was wonderful: freshly made, good sized portions, great value. Dinner was priced as I would have paid for lunch where I live! I highly recommend stopping here if you are staying in North Temple.

The meat there was terrible in both meals that we got. It was seriously horribly undercooked in one meal, and totally rubbery in the Orange chicken. I will be totally honest even though I'm upset, the rice was really good.

You're better off finding someplace else. First, AVOID the Lo Mein. It's just angel hair spaghetti with some cooked cabage pieces. No flavor.

The Hot & Sour soup is neither hot nor sour, but still enjoyable. It should be renamed 'not bad asian beef broth' soup. It has traditional ingredients from the Tofu to the Tiger lily buds, it just doesn't have enough vinegar to make it sour nor is it spicy (which is relative, I often eat spicy foods and am somewhat accustomed).

The Vietnamese Egg Rolls, are good but too greasy compared to other places (like Gossip Tapioca).

Huge disappointment. Sesame chicken overly sweet and seemed to be mostly batter, noodles were slimy and off tasting, everything else bland and too greasy. We ended up throwing most of it out. Ruined the evening and wasted $40.

Food tastes off. I've only tried their Vietnamese dishes here, and what I've tried so far has all tasted too gamey and just off. And why they put tomatoes on my bbq pork rice dish I have no idea. Plus they don't mix their fish sauce right, leaving it too fishy.
Dining area is dingy and not a fun place to eat in. Service from the woman owner is always terse and unfriendly.
Avoid this place.

Yup! this will do ya!. Like Panda Express but a titch more legit. Good orange chicken....not watery, I hate that. Good Lo Mein too! Ask for xtra orange sauce on side. Not Luke chicken is dry (like most places) but I like to dip.
Do it! They are DELISH!

Good food... sometimes. The Vietnamese food is good depending on the day. Usually the lunch rush is the best time to get your money's worth. Their lunch menu is cheap but very good.

Order the noodles with fried egg rolls. The food used to be really good
don't know what happened?
I usually only order the bun noodle with fried
egg roll anymore

Priced right. The food is OK and in line for what you pay. The service is very good, but then they only had a few patrons to serve (been there on Friday night and for lunch). The portions are good sized. Because the staff was so friendly I hate to dis the food; it is OK.

Biggest in Town. Did I get your attention? Anyhow, I believe the spring rolls at East Seas are the biggest and most affordable around. Three simple, yet giant rolls filled with rice noodles, lettuce, cilantro, shrimp and pork are approximately $5.50.

To be honest, the spring rolls are the only item I order. However, they are good enough to traverse across town for!
