Review Buca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant - Salt Lake City

We're in Utah for a vacation and came across Buca. We haven't been in over a year and decided to enjoy some pasta. It wasn't busy, there were a few couples in our area, so it was relatively quiet. Our server James was very personable, funny, and attentive. The food did not disappoint. We shared spaghetti, bruschetta, and garlic cheese bread. For drinks, we enjoyed the bramble lemonade and long island ice tea. We ended dinner with a brownie sundae. We left the restaurant, happy, fat, and satisfied. Yes, it's pricey, but it was worth it.

Craig is hands down the best server. He dealt with 11 of us with grace and poise. He is the nicest guy and a true professional. I can't recommend this place and Craig, especially, enough.

Good food, family style servings that are fairly tasty. It cost $120 for a group of four of us to eat. We did have some leftovers, but we didn’t order drinks so that was all food cost. Our server was great, it is a fun place to eat the decor is pretty entertaining but the juice may not be worth the squeeze value wise. Worth noting, no bread brought out to table to snack on while you decide what to order. We will go back at some point, but it won’t be on our “usual” places to eat list.

After a long day on the mountain we were looking for a family styled restaurant. The food was amazing and our hostess was amazing. Perfect end to the perfect day. We teased it was my husbands birthday, no candle in the meatball but we did get a flag.

We had a sunrise photoshoot at Pink Lake…then headed to downtown SL to visit and find some food…and we found Bucas! Two stories of authentic Italian food and atmosphere but we were invited to eat in a special booth they have inside the kitchen! The Chef/Manager also volunteered to be our server. It was such an awesome experience…they treated us like the celebrities that they have pictures of hanging on the walls. The food was just amazing. The large portions created enough leftovers for the 4 of us to eat on for a couple days! Would we go back…absolutely! Bravo Buca…Bravo!!!

What a fantastic meal with great service. We dined at the chef’s table and watched the kitchen staff prepare the food. Our server was also the assistant manager who was very friendly and took great care of us. We had a lovely dinner and the staff was all courteous to us in the kitchen.

We sat at the table in the kitchen. What a fun experience. Jason our waiter was very friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. He was always checking to make sure we were happy with everything. All the other staff working on the kitchen were friendly too. If your looking for a good meal, great time and fun experience, make reservations for the kitchen table. Thanks Jason.

The lasagna and salad were amazing. I loved the atmosphere and I was surprised at how big the establishment was. I would definitely come back here again. The best lasagna I've had so far.

This is my second time eating here and it was amazing! This is a great place to take the whole family. Their portions are huge so prepare yourself and your appetite. We were a party of 4 and we ordered chicken parmigiana and penne basilica and both were excellent! For reference we ordered family size and we had leftovers of both. Our server, Nisha, was super sweet and was attentive to our needs!

This was our first time at Buca di Beppo. The serving sizes were huge!! We were with a party of 30 and each family ordered an entree and we passed bowls around and tried numerous types of pasta. The chef came out to introduce himself which gave it a personal touch. Will be back!!

We ate here this last Friday night and I'm telling you, if I could leave a ten star review I would do it. Twice. Our waiter was Billy and he made our whole family feel at home and so welcomed. Our youngest has a hard time sitting still and he kept conversation with her so well even she was content and happy! The food was amazing, I don't have a single complaint. I would recommend to everyone, anyone, any day. Absolutely wonderful, thank you for a great evening!

My family came in on a Saturday night for dinner. We had a great experience, special shout out to our server James. He was very friendly and helpful. Our food came out delicious and fast, & he gave me a great recommendation for a wine. He even overheard it was my daughter’s birthday and brought her out a delicious dessert! I loved the vibe and decor, and would definitely come back. Great food, huge portions.

Really a great spot for a family or big event. The food was fantastic, our server Nisha was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was super fun. It's best to come with a larger group, the serving sizes are pretty massive and it's fun to be able to try a bunch of dishes all together. Overall a really fun and great experience.

We go to Buca every Christmas Eve. We look forward to having Craig as our server each other time. Today we also had Jason and they both took such good care of us. Thank you for being part of our holiday traditions!

Best Italian food in state. The service is top notch and the restaurant makes you feel like you are in Italy. It is a tad bit exspensive but you get what you pay for if you want cheap tasteless food go somewhere else. If you want the best Italian food with a cool Italian atmosphere with down home service this is your place

i have never been to Bucca before. the atmosphere was great. kind of disappointed in the pricing. There was no single serving plates. And one drink was $14.00 then I was charged an 18% tip on top of that because we were there with a painting event. The staff knew ahead of time that the class was there and full. They should have had more than one waitress there. I the consumer should be able to decide how much tip to give a server. what about servings for single clients. i don't want that much food at once.

We really loved the atmosphere and our server was awesome! He was a little over the top lol but hey! I'd take an over the top server over an asshole server anyday!! The food was good as well, and they give you ALOT !

Amazing staff! Yesterday I walked into Buca with a man down on his luck and unfortunately homeless. Tony told me he was starving. I asked Tony to join me for a nice meal. When we came in I asked the staff if he could leave his bike up front and they happily kept an eye on it. Our food server was nothing short of amazing! Frankie treated Tony and I with the upmost respect and dignity. Thank you Frankie! You are a blessing to this world! There are times in all of our lives that we are down on our luck. Every now and then we get an opportunity to lend a helping hand and everyone here this day contributed. Thank you to the team at Buca!!

2lg meals salad and appetizer $168 before tip. Service was fine. The food had no flavor. Lasagna and prosciutto stuffed chicken. Stouffers lasagna is better at the fire house. The chicken tasted like nothing. For not for the pesto cream sauce it wouldn't have any flavor and the sauce was terrible. That was the 2nd time in8 months we've gone and will never entertain patronage again.

Excellent food and ambiance. The place is very authentic and the staff is great.

My kids took me their mothers day got in very quickly the food was wonderful except the salad was a little soggy and not enough vinegar but I'm Italian so I'm picky about my dressing but the service was great! My son was born on my birthday, so we go on our "Day" every year too!

A tad pricey but if you order less than you think you'll be fine. There was 14 of us and our waiter was awesome...he suggested items, recommended various size dishes, gave opinions on wine, etc., and kept the dinner flowing. Great job!

Travis is the best Buca Manager anywhere - I hate saying that, some other store might try to steal him away. - But its the Truth - Hands on, making sure the Corp. Recipes are followed to a Tee ~! - and care is taken in every Dish Served. I live in Magan 16 miles away, BUT even if I lived next Door to the one other Bucas in the valley in Sandy, I would Drive down-town to his Store - for the food is way better and the proper full Servings~! - Best Italian Food in the State~! - by far ~! good job.

We went last night and it was 100.00 for 6 to share spaghetti and veal and garlic bread! Service was awful!!! There was a convention in town but that's no excuse! We never got water refilled. Had to ask over and over for lemons butter water and my grandaughters order was wrong and finally they brought her meatball when we were ready to go! We won't be going back again!!

I thought it was an excellent place after not seeing my niece since I was 14! It was absolutely great!!! No problems with me or my niece!

Great food, service, and ambiance first time going an will definitely be back, love all the pictures, statues, our waiter was awesome, had the stuffed chicken breast with bruschetta was delish an my husband had the Rigatoni of course we shared LOL, thanks for a great first time experience

Been here several times in the last 6 months. It has markedly improved in the past 3. This could be attributed to the new head chef and management. The previously abysmal service is coming around and the food, which was the only previous saving grace is still delectable and fresh.

Had a family get together. The food was incredible. Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti, and garlic bread. Justin provided great service, drinks never empty very professional.

Don't let this restaurant,The Salt Lake Location, park your car for valet service.They put a dent in my new dodge truck and denied they did it.I know they did because I had just got it out of the body shop a week prior and it was shiny new and they backed it into something where we had just had it fixed.They denied they did it and refused to take responsibility to fix it.

I ordered the chicken BLT with garlic fries. These fries are hardly garlic, and I got a salad instead of the LT.

Went with my hubby and it was SO much delicious food! Our server was excellent, enthusiastic, and helpful at providing suggestions. We left full and happy! I would totally go again!

My family and i went there for my birthday. We really enjoyed our dinner. Great atmosphere, good food, wonderful service but a little pricey. But the service is worth rating it 5 STARS EXCELLENT

Pizza very disappointing. Service very slow even though the place was empty. No napkins! No cutlery! Some silly rule that you can only order family sized share plates even when dining alone.

Well I came here highly recommended. But was disappointed with the food. No taste in the spaghetti marinara. Very bland. Veggie options were limited and all in all a disappointment.

It's been a while since I have been to Buca, mostly cause I no longer live near this location. Tonight started out rough for some reason. We got to the restaurant and waited for about 10 minutes before ever seeing a host/hostess. When he finally showed up he reluctantly tells us it will be a 10-15 minute wait. We had a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids), but it was his attitude that was so strange. I felt as though we were burdening him by showing up for dinner at 5:pm. Regardless he kept his word and we were seated within the allotted time frame. We were walked to our table by another man and we asked for a couple of kids menus for the little ones. He said he would be right back with those. 30 minutes went by with no sign of him. Finally our waiter shows up and complained about having a full list of customers when he started his shift. Those were his first words to us! No "hi, how are you's" just more of us inconveniencing the restaurant staff. 10 minutes later he returned with the kids menus and finally asked if we wanted anything to drink. (We were more than ready to order being that we had been there for an hour at this point) Drinks came about 15 minutes later when he took our order. Another burden I suppose? We ordered our food and appetizers and somehow received our appetizers after we had received our entrees. To top off our terrible experience the restaurant was freezing. The 14 degree weather outside was a blessing compared to the freezing cold dining area. We all had to wear our coats during our dinner! Overall I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone I know! Ever! I will not return to this place and hope no one else does either. By far the worst customer service I have ever had at a family style restaurant.

Good food, service was shamefully slow. The waiter would disappear and then return and tell us how busy they were when more than 80% of the tables were empty. The service was literally shameful, it took over an hour to get our food.

Great food.. Horrible customer service. We went in with a party of 12 for a birthday party. Our waiter Sean was rude and snarky to us all evening. When it came time to pay the tab he mistakenly put it all on one. I politely told him that it would be separate checks and he then proceeded to yell at our entire party with comments like "are you kidding me??" "Have you ever been to a restaurant before??" Yelling at us and the person whose birthday we were celebrating. We had to get the manager involved and after awhile finally got our checks. Sean hovered around to see the kinds of tips he was being left, which were little to none with how he was acting towards us. He then yelled "God d$mnit!" when he saw the tips, all while our party was still there. It was a terrible experience and I will never return.

Ordered takeout, arrived to pick up and couldn't waited on to get our food. They texted me an hour later asking if I was coming in.<br/><br/>Too many options downtown for this service.

Yummy Americanized Italian food! The food was good, we had calamari which was amazing and stuffed shells. We left full and had leftovers. The only complaint is that the dining room was very warm which was uncomfortable while eating. Other than that it was great and service was adequate.

Bleh. . .. Our meal was fairly expensive and exceedingly boring. I had the chicken piccata which wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. My husband had penne with meat sauce--there was minimal sauce and the pasta was sticky and rubbery. Service was friendly but mediocre. We've noticed a decline, but the location is so great. Never again, though. There are too many other great places to suffer

Mixed feelings here. Pasta dishes are bland. Appetizers are good. You come to this place for the family style dining experience, plus all the conversation pieces around you. I really want to like the place but not all the food is great. I guess that's expected from a chain restaurant.

Tasty. I went there for lunch. We were seated quickly. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt. I loved the bread with vinegar and olive oil. Reasonably priced for lunch. Great atmosphere. The red sauce I had on my pasta was a little bland but the meatball my dad had was quite tasty (btw it was a 1/2 lb. meatball). I would go there again. In fact, I plan to take my wife there for dinner. :)

This is a great place to sit around a table of good food and laugh and share memories. <br/>We sat at the kitchen table. A lot of fun talking to the chef and all the help. We all had so much fun when they would show us everything else that people ordered. <br/>The chef was VERY nice. <br/>Great food

The food isn't bad and the service is better than expected. It's corporate chain so don't expect the owner to have a seat with you and tell you about the origins of your entree. It's not a bad place and it's a notch above olive garden but not really a good place for Italian. Try out a few small local restaurants before you eat here.

Fantastic family style meals. Amazing service...they even give you a tour of the kitchen before sitting down...by the way the brownie sunday is the size of someones head

Disappointed. Had Thanksgiving there, the food was great the portions for the 3 meal sucked. Now i see why they weren't busy. For 3 people, we got one small salsa bowl of potatoes, gravy and stuffing and 6 turkey strips that were about an inch think and about 5 inches long. The beans weren't cook, harder than crap. Can you imagine dividing up a small bowl of everything for 3 people? REALLY??? I have never been to this place and i will never ever go back. Not to mention paying $39.99 for the meal. I could of got take out at Smith's and get a heck of alot more for the buck. I call it highway robbery!!

Good for groups. We enjoy getting a group together and sharing meals. The prices are high, but if you know how to order right it can be a good meal, reasonably priced.

We had a large group and the waitress was great. No Sangria and the food was just so so, bread was dry. Not worth the drive downtown no parking

I've never had any problems with this restaurant, I've been here 20+ times, including to go. Service is always exceptional, and the food is great!

Typical American spot. It's not horrible, but it also is not the kind of spot that has you running back. Straight-forward American franchise "Italian" food.

Great portions and delicious food. Great for families and groups of friends. Any of the dishes are great I reccomend the pesto pasta.

Large portions of average Americanized Italian food. Decent if you have a lot of mouths to feed. Good service.
