Review Caputo's Market And Deli - Salt Lake City

This is an amazing little deli inside of an Italian shop. The shop has almost everything an Italian transplant would love to buy and boasts one of the best meatball subs according to the Internet. I have to agree! The sub was stuffed to full, incredibly toasted, and flavored to the max!!! It was by far the best meatball sub I have ever had and my previous favorite was from the Italian place around the corner from us. As with any Italian place, I will always try and judge them based on their Tiramisu. I was disappointed by the soupy appearance but the flavors did not disappoint in the slightest!!! I have never tasted a Tiramisu better than that one. They have officially raised the bar on what one should taste like. If you haven't eaten here yet, you are missing out!!

Caputos is a Salt Lake City staple. You must visit and partake of their wares. The foods are delicious. The market is full of unique options. The service is great. The ambience is the place is inviting and delightful. I really enjoy eating here. I highly recommend.

One of the few spots where you can get single cans of beer to buy. The shop is nice with a bunch of local goods, staff were super friendly and it was clearly popular. Have to avoid the lunch rush or the queue is out of the door. Went for the Pastrami which was huge, a half sandwich would've sufficed. Stood up to collect my sandwich (eat-in), and a woman took my seat, acknowledged that she took my seat, and then just stayed in it and shrugged.

The Fior Di Latte was okay. It was a bit dry and the Mozzarella was over powered by the tomato. The restaurant interior is impressive.

The sandwiches are massive and their ingredients are of a very high quality. Good atmosphere and helpful and polite employees!

I had been wanting to come here for a long time and was not disappointed at all. We got a couple sandwiches for lunch and they are huge! A whole sandwich easily feeds two people. They slice the meat a bit thicker than most places if that matters to you. The bread was soft and held up very well while eating. Over in the market area there is an amazing selection of chocolates from around the world. There is also the best canned fish selection I have seen and that was one of my main reasons for visiting. They have brands of fish that I really enjoy and can’t find where I live so I was also happy to hear they ship free too. A great place to come to eat or shop!

One spot to have your list of Downtown Lunch Options! Made an online pick up🔥 patio, parking space, if you forgot something …. Best of all ! They are a local business

I lived in SLC for 13 years and left. I discovered this jewel on a visit to town, I'm sorry I never got to enjoy it while I lived there. The service was attentive and just amazing. They have an incredible collection of chocolate bars in various flavors. Their deli had a good selection and ended up buying one of the best aged gouda I've ever had.

A great meatball sub should be nearly impossible to figure out how to eat. It should be messy, dripping with sauce and overflowing the bread. Caputo's nailed it. Once you get your hands around a piece of this decadent creation, you won't be able to put it down, simply because the logistics of it. The marinara sauce should be savored and when you get to a meatball, enjoy the simple flavor of everything coming together. The bread is also great but merely serves as a vessel to transport the ingredients to your mouth. Make sure to grab plenty of napkins before you start because you won't be able to after it's in your hands. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back in order to try everything else on the menu. Based off of this experience, I don't think I could go wrong with any choice. I will be back. I heartily recommended Caputo's!

Tony built an amazing place. I used to go every Friday plus some for sandwiches back when it was a smaller location with a line out into the street. The newer location has an awesome market, imported goods, chocolate, cheese fridges, chocolate, house made pesto is the best, meats, etc. did I say best chocolates in town? Best sandwiches too! Multiple locations now. Nice to see Caputo's thriving. I had long since moved out of state, though I always stop by when in town to shop & eat. I do wish the bread hadn't changed to be softer. Loved that hard Italian sandwich bread from years past. Still the best Italian sandwiches and so much more. Lately, "the secret", as Tony told me once, is the Balsamic. Love it!

One word? Beautiful. Authentic Italian market, deli and fish market. Fresh beautiful ingredients combined in a way that excites the eyes and tongue. From the outside to the inside it's got an incredible feel that is inviting and exciting. Worth the trip and I highly recommend the Muffaletta!

This is not a supermarket - they serve an exquisite array of deli meats and cheeses, both domestic and imported. There is a good selection of oils, vinegars, crackers, candy, fresh baked bread, and spices. They also serve short order sandwiches that are quite good.

Had a delicious sandwich today at the market. I would highly recommend trying this place out. The Hot Pastrami would be my suggestion but everything I have tried was delicious!

Love the sandwiches here. I've had the All American Turkey and the Muffaletta. They were both excellent. Can't wait to come back and try the other sandwiches and salads.

Authentic Italian deli! Reminded me of the east coast. Wish the bread was a little harder but didn’t detract from the quality.

My partner and I were passing through Salt Lake, we were only supposed to be here for the day. After breakfast, we came to Caputos to use the bathroom, but we left with the most beautiful cheeses I have ever tasted. After speaking to the man behind the counter who was well versed in cheese and food in general, we left for the climbing crag with this double skull and a baguette. After a few climbs, we snacked on our bread and cheese and couldn’t believe the quality and uniqueness of the cheese. We ate all of it without guilt or shame and returned later in the day to purchase more. This time we left with chocolates, more cheese, pickles and mini bread to pair with our cheese. If you’re looking for a staff who genuinely cares about the product they’re selling and a company that works with the owners of the products they carry, look no more. Caputo is unique in that they contribute to the well being of the company’s they work with, like certain cacao and meat and cheese company’s. We learned the history of Caputo through their employees and felt good supporting a business that supports family owned farms. The quality of their food is unmatched. I don’t know if I’ll ever find a place like this elsewhere, but fortunately they ship to states in the US. I highly recommend this market for all of your needs.

Very environmental friendly and real Italian food made in house and all from scratch. You can see the kitchen where they prepare your food and see everything they use to make it. Very clean and tidy place to eat. There is also butcher and Italian store so you can purchase what you need and cook at home. They have free chocolate and oil samples as well.

My visit was 21 Sep 21 during a business trip. My order was a Half Meatball sandwich. I had actually walked to the location. It’s a combo deli, eat in/out, with a very nice store to shop for imported delights. If I lived in this area, the store attached would be a place I would shop it. The sandwich was good and reminded me of home. It was large for the half so you will get your money’s worth. I wished I have had more time, because I would have liked to sit out on the beautifully flowery garden type setup for outdoor eating. So maybe next time I will get a chance. Thanks for the good food.

Really awesome deli! Tons of great hard to find products. Truly feels like something out of Europe. Tons of great meats, cheeses, chocolates, and snacks. My wife was a huge fan of the prosciutto and mortadella. The sandwiches are also super tasty. The prices are a bit high for a sandwich but it's made fresh with the best ingredients so definitely worth it. If you're looking for an awesome deli definitely check out Caputo's!
