Review The Park Cafe - Salt Lake City

Nick Pastore
Delicious! Haven’t had a good B&G all year being away and this definitely took care of my craving! The biscuits were a bit dense and heavy but that was their style I guess. The sausage gravy was rich and incredibly tasty. All the other plates ordered were fresh and good. The service was perfect and smiles all around

Great place to stop for breakfast! It was clean, great service and really fast. Prices were also very reasonable. We tried two of the specials, Tina’s porridge and fried chicken. Both were really delicious and we would order again. Sadly we live out of state so will not be able to return any time soon.

I love love love the food options!! The gluten free pancakes were amazing! My wife got their special but I can’t remember which one she got. They do have a gluten free bun but we did not try that since I’m the gluten intolerant one, not my wife. I grabbed the corn beef hash and it has the perfect amount of hash compared to the rest of the ingredients. I would definitely order it again. The side of sausage was also super delish! Not over or undercooked. We went during the peak breakfast/lunch time so it was a bit loud but you can sit yourself. Fast service and they’re super nice. One request. Clean the bathroom door! Especially near the door handle. It has yellow/brown finger prints on it and was not very pleasing to see when opening the door. Overall, 4.5/5 just due to the bathroom cleanliness.

Another great breakfast/brunch place in SLC. They had a pancake sandwich with eggs & bacon on the inside!!! As someone who loves the mix of sweet & savory it was perfect 😋 they did give me a free bowl of bananas for my baby and she enjoyed her breakfast too! Music was great, they played Afro beats the whole time! The only thing I was seated outside on a somewhat cold day with a baby. In my opinion they shouldn’t have placed us outside in the first place even though they had those heaters. If I wanted to be seated inside it would be another 10-15 so I just stayed. The host was nice to check in every now and then to make sure we were ok

We saw all the great reviews, so we had to make a stop to try this place out. The restaurant doesn’t jump out at you as you drive by, so you have to look for it a little bit. And I say that as a compliment. I love that it blends into the fabric of the neighborhood. We ordered a B’s and G’s (biscuits and gravy) and a Michigan Hash. The B’s and G’s were pretty solid. The gravy and sausage was nice. The biscuits were… fine. Kinda tasted like they were from Pillsbury, not homemade. Not the worst thing in the world, but they could have been a better. The eggs and hash browns were nice though. Overall, it’s a pretty good plate of food. The Michigan Hash was nice. I only tried one bite from my wife’s plate, but it was really good. A very solid hash, well-prepared eggs, and good hash browns. If you can, get a seat by the windows. The views of the park are awesome and the natural light is great. The service was pretty mediocre, tbh. A bit soulless and cold. The food made up for it though – if I had to choose between great service or great food, I’ll take the food 10 times out of 10. But if you’re looking for a place to improve the restaurant, I’d start there.

First thing, I want to say thank you to the staff, it is Always a pleasure going here. Staff are super amazing and always so nice and smiling and the restaurant is always spotless. I mean look at how amazing the food looks in my pic of the B’s & G’s. Yummmy!!! And it taste even better than it looks. We are so lucky to have this place for a great quality breakfast experience.

Stopped in during my drive through Salt Lake City. Everything was just superb. The food, atmosphere, and especially the prompt and friendly service we received from the staff. If you’re looking for a great place to have some breakfast, lunch, or brunch, look no further. The Park Cafe is your place!

If you want the best breakfast of your life, then The Park Café is the place to go. It is a happening place, but well worth any wait. The potatoes in particular are insanely good, and everything from the bacon to the French toast to the pancakes are incredible.

It’s our first time to visit Salt Lake City. Our Airbnb owner recommended the area and we randomly found this place. Super super super nice staff. Every single one brings the good energy. We have our dog with us so we asked for the patio seating. Super busy but everyone was super patient and nice. We had the egg breakfast and U Boyz omelette. The corn beef is just simply perfect and delicious. And I should say the size of the food is really big!!!

This place was fun and delicous. We immediately felt welcomed like family. My water was never empty, the server was so pleasant to speak with. Our food came fast and it was delicous. I have Celiac so finding a safe place to eat pancakes was a huge bonus. The serving sizes are big enough to feed two ppl and the price is more than fair.

Great place for a family breakfast

Took the family on Sunday for breakfast. We called ahead and the got a table for 11 ready on the porch. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We had a fantastic time and will continue to come back.

What can I say? The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly. It was crowded, but it didn't ruin the atmosphere and the food still came quickly and was delicious.

Good food, good ambience, nice view, and nice people. What more are you looking for? I ate here for breakfast and i cant even finish one whole plate! Lol the serving is really big or should i say i dont really eat a lot? Try it out 😊

The place was packed but I didn't have to wait long because they had a spot at the bar. The food was great and the service was fast and friendly. I now know why several people recommended this place.

Great location and consistently good food. That you can have coffee while waiting in line a awesome. Fairly priced. Interesting art work for sale to look at while you eat.

The Jazz omelette was delightful and the potatoes were pretty good too. Good value for sure but get there early if you wish to avoid a lengthy line of hipsters out front. This place is always busy!

Park Cafe is one of those "buzzy spots" according to my phone (I love how my phone sounds like a grandpa sometimes...) that everyone seems to be talking about, a place to see and be seen. So, obviously, I needed to see.

Finally ate there on my way to work this morning, big kudos on getting me in and out in 20-25 min. Great food and such welcoming, attentive and quick service that it felt like home. Will be back

If you're going on a weekend of holiday, plan on waiting a while to get seated - but definitely worth the wait. Best chai tea in town.

Good but. It's very "hipsterish." Food was good. And the service was quick. But to be honest. I won't be going back.
Dan The Door Man
Way overrated. If you don't have sleeve tats or facial piercings or if you own a car- this place is not for you. Go to eggs in the city or blue plate if you want to enjoy your meal with people that finished high school.

The food is very good and very fast, atmosphere is fun but some of the young ladies that work there are very rude and condescending. Need to improve their customer service skills but the food, coffee, and everything else is to die for
Jane
Delicious! Excellent home cooked food in fun, cozy and hip atmosphere.

Soooo good!!! Sooooo good! Great artwork from local artist. Could hardly believe the size of my pancake. Bacon is thick cut and perfectly crispy. Wish we had one where I live in Canada.

Filling. As one who spent a fair amount of time in the state I am not sure what is Michigan about the hash but it is a tasty combo of hashed/almost mashed potatoes, sausage, and savory veggies. Partner followed instructions of the guy at the next table (and given size of this place a guy at the next table is practically at your table)and ordered chili which he pronounced quite satisfactory. Very large portions;don't know where the skinny hipster customers can put it all.
A breakfast all day sort of place. We have had good experiences in the past but seldom revisit unless we can come on a weekday and slightly off time.
Pleasant light room and very efficient service.

Best breakfast in the valley! Can't go wrong with French Toast Foolishness or Huevos Rancheros. Bring your appetite.
Danny
10 dollar bliss. Sat up at the bar and had the "French Toast Foolishness". 2 eggs scrambled perfectly, potatoes were great, bacon thick and crispy, and the french battered texas toast was excellent! Along with a cup of coffee? $10 ...oh yeah, I'll be back.
Shawna
SO DELICIOUS!! I've been here twice for breakfast and both times ordered the Huevos Rancheros. Absolutely delicious. I crave it for weeks after. My sister ordered a small stack of blueberry pancakes and they were the best I've ever had. My other sister had some type of breakfast sandwich and the bacon was perfect. I would eat here AT LEAST once a month if I lived closer.

Busy, Cramped, and Delicious. It's about time we journeyed up to Liberty Park in the morning for breakfast. We arrived late on Saturday morning so we weren't surprised when the wait was around 30 minutes. But I would say the wait was well worth it.

The space is a little cramped as displayed in my pictures that show my plates hanging off the table. We had 4 people seated at a table that should only seat 2. But when you make awesome food, you have to cram people into tight spaces. The waiters often bumped us as we were eating (careful if you have coffee or hot chocolate in your hand!) because there is hardly any room to maneuver around the tables and chairs. We've eaten at popular dining establishments that had longer waits and smaller tables so I can't complain.

The hot chocolate was a good start to the meal on a cold morning. It bubbled over the edge of the mug and tasted delicious. My favorite breakfast food is French Toast so it was a foregone conclusion before I even saw the menu that I would try the popular French Toast Foolishness. And I will get it again every time I come back! The slices are generous and the syrup is nice and thick. The "side" dish is piled even higher with bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Come with an appetite or just wait outside for 30 minutes and you'll develop the appetite you need!

As per our waiter's recommendation, we also tried the shooter's sandwich which was pretty good and would probably taste great at another restaurant but I can't recommend anything except the french toast because it's just that good.

Enjoyed it for the most part. Food was great, fun staff, laid back place. My only complaint was that it wasn't that busy and my service wasn't that great. I will be back again, just feel the server could have been more attentive

Meh. Food quality was pretty good, but there are much better places for breakfast.

Best breakfast in SLC! Great food and amazing service.

It is impossible to be disappointed here. The park potatoes are out of this world! Good place to eat in the summer outside right by the park. A must eat when visiting salt lake city.

Breakfast!. Oh my gosh. I love breakfast here. It's right down the street from my old high school and we spent many a morning sluffing class in order to partake in delicious food. First and foremost, THE JAM! There are only two other restaurants I've been where I want to die for the jam and the Park makes it three. I'm honestly not sure, but it's got to be homemade because it is absolutely incredible. And they've got some of the best bacon and eggs around. Pair that with a bright, lax environment and breakfast becomes happiness.

Great food, great prices and a sweet location. Ideal hangover breakfast! It's become so popular the waits a bit much but worth it.

Thursdays!. The Park Cafe, while having INCREDIDLE breakfast's... can also make a pretty mean lunch! I would reccomend going on a Thursday. "Why Thursday?" you ask. It is simple... The Homemade Tomato Soup (quite frankly the ABSOLUTE BEST tomato soup in or around this universe! If it were legal in the state of Utah (and not much is) I would marry this soup!
Go for lunch... get a BLT, a Salad, a glass of water... I don't care (althougth the BLT is pretty legit as well) but get some soup to go with it. If it isn't so good that it makes you want to "slap yo' mama" then you truly need to evaluate your priorities in this life and the life to come!

Don't forget about lunch. Of course the breakfasts here are great but the waits can be unreasonable. I love to go here for lunch on weekdays. You can get their full breakfast menu, their burgers are big and don't use pre-made patties, and you can get their AMAZING hash browns as a side to the burgers and sandwiches.
Mike Sax
Good breakfast joint. Great burger at lunch, but needs to be served with fries instead of those gooey gross Utah hash browns aka "park potatoes." Chips aren't a good sub for good fries.

LOVE this place. Park Cafe may be a little "hole in the wall" joint, but it's more than the location or size. This place has great ambience and always has such a fun crowd of cool people. And the people watching at Liberty Park can't be beat.

I always get the French Toast Foolishness. It's two thick, huge slabs of french toast, perfectly cooked. With it comes a side of Park Potatoes and the most crisp, succulent bacon you have ever tasted. Perfect for Sunday brunch.

The bad - the wait is always pretty long on the weekend, but you can grab a mug from the hostess and filler up with fresh coffee while you wait outside.
Just My Opinion
Eeewww. So Sad,
Amazing location and bad food.
For a greasy spoon it's OK on a hungover morning(at best), if you like wonder bread toast and packaged kroger jam and don't forget the farmer brothers coffee then it's a must go.This location deserves so much better!

Best Breakfast. There are a few reasons I think the Park Cafe has the best breakfast. First, it's fast. My order usually comes out within 10 minutes of ordering. Second, it's inexpensive. I usually spend no more than $6 before tip, and the portions are huge! Third, it is delicious, I especially love the strawberry jam. Everytime I eat there, the place is packed. The servers are so friendly, and are really on top of it. And you get a view of the park while you eat!

Bargain Breakfast - Best Bacon in the City!. It is all good here. The setting next to Liberty Park is ideal. The service is always quick and the food wonderful.

The Bacon: Thick and tasty. Very Meaty.

The Pancakes: Get them instead of toast, you won't regret it.

The potatoes: Home fries at their finest.

The Eggs: Perfect

The Omelets: MMMMMM, MMMMM Good!

Perfect morning. This is something so wonderful about a brisk walk around Liberty Park, good deep-flavored coffee, interesting people watching and bacon and eggs at the Park Cafe. This place has been open for a long time and had some issues years ago - but they have created a great atmosphere and a great low cost breakfast menu. I highly recommend it! Check out www.CheapEatsSLC.blogspot.com for other upcoming reviews, discount offers, coupons and low cost recipes.

Great little place. I love their breakfast!!!! Cute little place with great service!

Good breakfast gathering spot!. The park cafe is a perfect spot to have a good breakfast with the feel of a neighborhood gathering spot. With paintings by local artists it gives you a great conversation piece and something to reflect on. The food is outstanding and the service is great.

Breakfast on Liberty Park. There's always a fun crowd, and the food is solid. If you can put up with the Denver Bronco's fans you're all set. Enjoy breakfast on the park!
Zilla
Great Breakfast!. The potatoes were so good they didn't need ketchup!

Gravy travesty aside, The Park Cafe is a delightful breakfast destination in a beautiful part of Salt Lake. The atmosphere is great, the staff extremely happy and helpful, and the food better than most. I recommend them the next time you find yourself looking for something tasty on a Saturday morning in Salt Lake. - See more at: http://thebaldgourmet.com/review-the-park-cafe-salt-lake-city-utah/#sthash.sSM1fHiE.dpuf
Taste Of SLC
Needless to say, I ordered way too much food, but what I was able to eat, it was great. I was totally stuffed and still had a lot left on my plate, so it is well worth the price.

The pancake sandwich—featuring four slices of bacon and two eggs—looks enticing, as do the thick slices of French toast and overflowing omelette plates at neighbouring tables. But I stick with a lighter but still carbo-loading order of multigrain pancakes, the denser texture offset by liberal handfuls of blueberries and a topping of sugarless syrup.

The Park Cafe is definitely a place where you eat, relax, linger, socialize, read the paper; much like Blue Plate Diner. It has a very inviting atmosphere; being an old bungalow home remodeled to a restaurant helps with the hometown feel. This place has a huge weekend following. If you drive by late morning on a Saturday or Sunday, there are people waiting out on the street.

Well I went to the Park Cafe and now I can safely say, that this is one of the best breakfast spots, not just in Utah, but anywhere I’ve ever lived. The portions were amazingly big, the prices were awesome, the food was amazing!

Our food came freakishly fast. Breakfast food I don't have to make, comes super fast and tastes awesome? That's my kinda place. The Park Cafe is right across the street from Liberty Park, giving you the opportunity to take a stroll around the park after eating such a hearty meal, it was the perfect start to our Saturday!

Weekend big breakfasts were something that I always looked forward to as a kid. During the week we always ate something quick like cereal or toast - usually on the go on our way to school. But on the weekends my folks would cook up big meals, with multipl
