Market Street Inn

Amazing service, the waiter was so nice. The atmosphere was amazing for a date. Prices were very good for the amazing food they had. Would recommend for a date night or to catch up with a friend. It wasnt loud out all and allowed for conversations, plus the bar area is separate from the dinning area, which was really nice because we didn't have to deal with the drunks.

So, here's my experience. I walk in at around 4 on a Friday, and get seated instantly. The server immediately fills our glasses and we start perusing the menu. We order and the food arrives in about 10 minutes. I got the jerk chicken sandwich, which is good but not filling. We then order dessert, which is also good. All in all, it was a great experience, not overly expensive either, though not a place to go for the best bang for your buck. The parking situation is somewhat unfortunate, but normal for downtown Salisbury. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, which is nice.

I have some fond memories of dining at Market Street Inn. I don’t believe I’ll be coming back though. I understand the restaurant issued an apology for the employee that wrote the sign, but it also must be a pretty high up employee or a team effort for it to be put on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The apology stated that no employees at Market Street Inn hold transphobic views that the sign portrayed, yet someone who works there, or multiple people, still posted it? The owner claims to take full ownership for the sign but yet blames it on this repeatedly stated “employee”. Lastly, someone was assaulted outside of your restaurant for being transgender, by restaurant staff, and nothing was done? Come on, Market Street Inn. I expected more. It’s great that the owner has done so much for the community, but it does not quell the issues that are at hand here. I will not eat at a restaurant where I would not recommend the place to my friends or family; that includes my LGBT+ identifying friends and family.
