This is my first experience with the village tavern. The staff were run just a little bit thin. Lexi was my waitresses. She was absolutely phenomenal.
I ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizer. I ordered the steak tip with a side Caesar, sweet potato fries, and also a side of asparagus. That steak was so so tender. Best steak I've had in a very long time. Everything else was really good as well. It would have been nice to have just a bit more sauce for the mozzarella sticks.
For an alcoholic beverage I had the mermaid day dream. (I'm not big on drinking alcohol) but this was a really good drink and I was actually surprised to like it.

We love to visit here in Village Tavern. We always had a great time and food was always good as well. Customer service was on top.
I was trying to find something good, and close to where I was staying on Carlton St. I was a little skeptical because of how centralized it is to everything, my experience is a lot of times restaurants that are that close to the main spots, are just a hype place. But it got good reviews and I found a few things on the menu that sounded good so I gave it a shot. I asked the bartender for recommendations, and he suggested the North Shore roast beef, and gave me some of the homemade chips. The picture in the menu does not do this justice! It is so much better then I expected. It was absolutely amazing, not a single thing I would improve upon. The chips, still hot, were a perfect addition. I have every intention of returning to Salem and there is no question, I will be returning. The only problem I have is do I get this again or try something else? Probably one of the top 10 sandwiches I've ever had, anywhere.
PROS: This place was a very nice restaurant to have lunch at. A lot of room to eat inside and out and it's perfect to watch the game. The staff was nice including our waitress Jojo. She was an amazing server and made the experience better for us. The menu had a lot on it and the prices were good.
CONS: Since they were in the middle of a shopping alley parking would be hard if you drove here. However, great for foot traffic so i won't mark that against them
OVERALL: I'd have to call you crazy not to eat here. I certainly will be coming back to this place once I go back
Beautiful area to sit outside and enjoy delicious food. The burgers were amazing and really nice size portion for the price. The brie burger was awesome!
Love this place! Prime Rib is amazing. Great atmosphere and fun staff. I live in Hyde Park, we go to Salem just to eat here.

Up playing tourist in Salem and thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had here. The menu provided a wide selection and we went heavy on appetizers. We had the coconut shrimp the wings and for the first time avocado fries. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The dry rub on the wings were fantastically spiced with just a little kick
