Visited from New Hampshire, on our way across the country to Texas. What a wonderful and welcoming place! It has super friendly staff that make you feel like you are a regular even though you just arrived. And not to mention how great the food is!!! I would love to come here everyday for breakfast if I could.

I was visiting the other afternoon to eat an amazing turkey avocado focaccia sandwich for lunch and two fellas came in without masks. They refused to put the mask on after the owner asked them to put it on, per health regulations. The owner also gave them other options, such as curbside service.
I was very upset by this. I also felt uncomfortable for the owner, while she was being confronted by the older one. I am a regular customer and eat here a couple days a week. The owners are wonderful people and very caring.
I saw the reviews these fellas posted and felt the need to write my own review and first hand experience.
Not that I want to promote the review, but see attached.
Please help keep others and yourself safe and please be kind to all these owners who are opening their doors to server YOU!

Small but warm, friendly people. We visited the Salem location and actually drove past it the first time! Look for a small white building with a blue roof on the corner. Praying is a little tight, but the food and service are worth it.
Deli style counter with a jaw dropping assortment of homemade pastries and desserts. The menu is a n unexpected assorted of yummy breakfast foods and delicious coffee. We were helped by Matthew aka "Beth" (he'll have to tell you his story), who knew every dish and had recommendations based on your preferences. Our barista and server (I regret not getting her name!) Was attentive, quick and detail oriented. The food was delicious and served with concern and care for our comfort and needs. If you're in Salem, Roanoke or Christiansburg you have to stop and eat there!!

They are a great place to grab breakfast, a hot chocolate, or just have an urge for somethings sweet. They sell all kinds of macaroons but I ended up getting the tiramisu and omelet. The staff were kind and the food came out in a matter of minutes.

The food is so amazing and delicious. You have to try the burgers. Our waiter was horrible though, and we were only one of three tables. The chef made us a dessert on the house because of the waiters mistakes. I will be back!!! Food is to die for

I wish I could brag on this place, but unfortunately the best thing going for them are (some of) the baked items. Went for lunch today - ordered a flatbread wrap and soup. Flatbread = flour tortilla, which I’m perfectly fine with but it was bland turkey with some lettuce, beans, and corn (no tomato per request). Salt and pepper perked it up a little, but the barely warm potato soup was the next letdown. The cashier and food runner must have just gotten a pay cut, because they clearly wanted to be anywhere else but there. Grabbed some macarons and a brownie to go - grasshopper brownie was divine! Sadly, macarons had a distinct freezer taste... not quite freezer burn, but not fresh. Even though close to work, I’ll continue on and find something else for a Friday treat. �

My grilled chicken pesto sandwich with roasted peppers was delicious and on homemade fresh ciabatta bread! To top that off I brought home dessert for dinner - macaroons and tiramisu!! Everything was amazing. Can't wait to go back for more!

We moved to Salem from Roanoke about 8 months ago. We used to go the Roanoke location every Sunday. We tried the Salem location and we were less than impressed with the service and cleanliness. We continued to go to the Roanoke location instead of going to the one 4 minutes from our house.
We saw the "under new management" sign and decided to give it another try. Exact same restaurant as before.
Update: I waited 34 minutes for my food. It came out and despite me asking for no hollandaise it had it on there. I asked for a refund and I could hear the manager complaining about me and saying "he didn't say anything about no hollandaise."
I will never come back here or the Roanoke establishment based on my experience here. The level of unprofessionalism displayed by their manager is unacceptable.
