Review Applebee's - Salem

While the overall dining in experience is pretty good, online ordering lacks the ability for customers to add special instructions to their order and carside-to-go has its own issues. As for carside-to-go (depending on how busy it is and whether or not they're suddenly running behind), you may get your food quite late and/relatively cold, even if you were first to pull up and sat waiting in your car for 20 mins. Just remember--as a customer--your order is as equally important as those eating inside. Also, we often get white iceberg lettuce leaves on our burgers and in the salad. No one loves and prefers white/yellow lettuce! Mostly green should be the standard. There were multiple issues with our last order which shows that the quality of food and service needs attention--a hamburger "no pink" that was almost all pink, a burger with mostly white & yellow lettuce (both burgers pretty cold and with mushy buns), a salad with decayed areas of lettuce, and only 2 sliced almonds in the entire salad. Aside from having to nuke the burger in our microwave, we had to toss the leaves [and piece] of lettuce and deal eating mushy buns--not an exceptionally wonderful experience. Lastly, those answering customers calls have voices which convey great impatience, and feelings of being stressed and inconvenienced. They may "only be human," but there are such things as higher standards and greater service--something that this location is lacking at the moment--we all need to learn to better manage our time and stress. To those who strive to give 120% and go the extra mile to overcome stresses on the job and deliver service and food with a genuine smile, patience, and proper etiquette, we thank you greatly! ❤️

Food just isn’t good. The pictures on Uber eats for apple bees were misleading( especially the wingless hot Cheetos wings) didn’t have much seasoning on it at all. I ordered from here couple of times to test out different things on their menu to see if it would be better but it’s the same low quality food every time. There is something wrong with the way they fry their chicken too. Every time I ordered something that’s fried chicken it tasted like it’s been microwaved and super hard and tough. The lava cake is yummy though.

Waited a long time for the food to come, and when it arrived the burgers were burnt and there were no fries at all! The waiter did not give good customer service. She wanted to charge us double for a lemonade because me and my boyfriend wanted to share it. She said we need to buy two separate drinks and couldn’t share. I Don’t recommend this place

It was alright. Substitutions are not appreciated at this restaurant. Not many options for the Low-carb crowd, so making menu changes would be nice to be able to do without getting pushback or waiting for approval from upper management to make a simple, healthier change. What happened to pleasing the customer these days? They did accommodate after management authorization.

The food is ok. I had the fish and chips, the fish was hot but the batter was a bit simplistic. The flavor was acceptable however. The service was excellent in my opinion but it did take a while for our food to arrive (we went around 7:30pm).

Usually never had a problem with Applebees but I recently went after my graduation, and got on the waiting list, they told us it would be 15 minutes but we then proceeded to wait for an hour and 30 minutes. We were very patient and but we were getting attitude by everyone but our waiter. A lady brings out our food, tosses my plate to me as I tried leaning away, but the hot oil on the dish splashed onto my face, and not once did anyone apologize. on top of that, my food was not cooked all the way and I ended up getting food poisoning that whole night. Not the best way to end my grad night and we dont look forward to going again, even tho that has my family’s regular spot..

Seated quickly. Jessica our waitress was patient, friendly and efficient. Our group of four was satisfied with the high quality of food. Applebee's will always be our first choice.

The South Salem location seems to be hit or miss lately but usually I have no complaints. Food quality and friendliness has been satisfactory just make sure you check your order before you leave.
