Review Chipotle Mexican Grill - Saint Paul

I have no idea what management is trying to do but I'd be convinced if the goal for this Chipotle location is to deter customers. Every time I pass by this store or try to get something from here, they're often slammed and don't have enough personel. It's sad, I know that chipotle can be better than this, but it's almost as if the higher ups aren't giving enough attention to this store and the demand it has. Hopefully they'll read this post and understand that customers are just tired of this level of service. This is below the minimum standard.

This used to be a fantastic Chipotle. Never had an issue. Over the past year or two the management has completely fell on their face. Online orders coming out 30-45 minutes after they are supposed to be ready. Even being that late the orders are wrong. I think the past 3 or 4 times I've gone here the order has been wrong. Not coming back.

The food was good, but the wait time was much longer than expected. Mobile orders shouldn’t take longer than ones that are ordered in store. I showed up to pick up our orders at the quoted time. It wasn’t ready and multiple groups were in and out with their food who ordered in store. The line of people kept growing for online orders and I received my food 20 minutes after the pickup time. If you are going to this location, I recommend just ordering in store and not through the mobile app!

Our family enjoys the food but quality and service is so uneven! Last time my carnitas burrito bowl had no meat, and they didn't give us our chips. (But at least the order was ready on time.) Staffing is a problem, apparently, as half the time it's not open! So, order at your own risk. You might get lucky.

Restaurant is supposed to close at 10 PM - according to the doors, also posted online. I placed a pickup order via the web to pick up at 9:10. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:15 and my order was sitting in the front room of the restaurant, not on a pickup tray, the front room in the cold by the glass doors. The tag was facing out, with the doors locked. I tried calling, and all four employees inside the restaurant ignored the phone. It took 5 minutes just to get an employee’s attention to get the bag, mind you this is forty minutes before they are supposed to be closed. The employee looked at me and asked me “how did this happen” once they opened the door for me, as if, so silly of me, I had locked it in the entryway myself somehow. I get home to eat the food, and I had ordered two bowls, one chicken and one steak with rice. There was no rice in either bowl and both were chicken. Obviously they had run out of ingredients for the day and closed early, making my meals wrong and then refusing any accountability at all by placing it where I could ostensibly pick it up without talking to anyone, except they had also locked the doors. I am appalled at the lack of service, the fact that I might have just had to go home without my prepaid order (which was wrong anyway) if no one had seen me standing outside. You can see from my public record as a google local guide that I leave a trail of 5-star-reviews in my wake, but this has earned my all time third one star review. I work at a restaurant and I would probably get fired if I did something like this. Do better.

I legitimately cannot rate this store higher than 2 stars. It took me 25 minutes to get through a line with only 4 people ahead of me. Their process is way off, starting orders but not passing them down the line and getting so many piled up that people are mixing up who’s is who’s, a total mess. Somehow this store is always insanely slammed but the employees still manage to have smiles on their faces and be nice *shrug* I feel bad that Chipotle lets its employees work in such a disorganized, hectic environment. Let’s just say this location needs a Hulkish Woman in charge.

Have had a ton of bad experiences here mixed in with a few good, and I’m not one to write reviews at every place I go to…but today was the straw that broke the camels back. A loyal customer, I walked to the door as they closed early at 6 pm and the staff literally closed the door in my face as I saw people still in line. I pointed in to the customers standing in line and was rudely told “we’re closed”. I’m sure I’ll be back to get a hastily made mess of a burrito again because I’m addict, but management should know what’s going on here.

45 minutes late for an online order. Had about 40 people standing in the dining area waiting for their order. Meanwhile, they continue to serve walk up guests as if they are not 45 minutes behind online orders. The workers seem fine, but obviously they’re online ordering system is not functioning properly if it is taking more orders than they can fill. Management of this store is really lacking. When I finally got home, I found that my food was humorously incorrect. The solution to their problem does not seem like rocket science to me. If they are short staffed, or cannot keep up with orders for whatever reason, they should not take as many online orders or they should increase the “promised time” when the food will be ready. I made my order at 5:50, with the “promised time” that the food would be done at 6:00. When I arrived at 6:00, they were for filling orders with a 5:30 promised time. So obviously, when I ordered, their computer system should have known they were 40 minutes behind and the online ordering should not have made it seem as though the food could be ready in 10 minutes. Frustrating and avoidable. I will not be going back to the chipotle.
