With just two nights to dine in the Twin Cities, we did a lot of searching and after deciding on St. Paul, W.A. Frost and Company came up as a favorable option by all of the locals we asked as well as online reviews. Our group was pleased to find that it lived up to its reputation. While the inside looks nice, if it's a pleasant night, the patio, which is somewhat immersed in a garden, is simply spectacular (see photo). The menu is extensive and includes an entire page of cheese selections, many of which are very interesting. If all of the options are overwhelming, the night's tasting menu or vegetarian tasting menu provide a great multi-course option. I'm no vegetarian, but I love vegetables and the night's vegetarian tasting menu included a lot of ingredients that I'm fond of, including several cheeses (including a cheese course), roasted cauliflower, pasta and mushrooms and was kicked off with watermelon gazpacho, another favorite. Every course was outstanding. Others at my table who ordered off the regular menu were equally pleased. The restaurant also offers some creative cocktails and a great wine list. As if the peaceful setting and delicious food weren't enough, the service was top notch!
My wife and I had a small reception party here the other day and the food drinks were great! The wait staff was very attentive to refill water and take away plates when you were finished. We only heard great things from our guests and many of them said they would like to come back and enjoy the patio. I would highly recommend this place for any small get together!
