Shell City Crab Shack

My husband and I went to STL for my birthday. I wanted to try something different. Please do not be deceived by the building. Their food is fire. They give you plenty even enough to share. I was so pleased we ate here twice while we were in town for the weekend. The batter on the fish and shrimp was excellent. Seafood Mac and cheese was my favorite. I will definitely eat here again when I’m in STL.

Magnificent! I dont even think this word I can think of the describe the good that I just ingested. This was our first time ordering from here and we will definitely return for more business. The prices are even unbelievable. We ordered the fried lobster platter which cake with seafood mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. ALL THAT FOR $26.50?! We also ordered the crab leg platter which came with corn and sausage for ONLY $20! The butter sauce was like nothing I had ever tasted before. I am in love with shell city and you will be too! Oh yeah and I forgot to tell you guys how quick the service was. All done in 15 minutes. There was only one guy working there and he was nice, fast, and efficient. Thank you.

I'm visiting from Northern Kentucky and my buddy found this place. I was born in Texas and know a lot of Cajuns from Louisiana. This guy must be part Cajun because the food is cooked perfectly. And that sauce is phenomenal! Like WOW I love the sauce! I can't get over it. The only critique I can make is the portion size. I understand shell fish is pricey, so I would recommend adding some more potatoes and corn on the cob (it's cheap enough to where you don't need to increase price). Because when I was done eating, there was so much left over sauce that I was dying for something to sop up the rest of that sauce lol.

So glad that I didn't judge the book by it's cover...the location had me skeptical and the lack of seating and the square hole they talk to you through really let you know that you were in the hood- BUT the food freshness and DELICIOUS flavor made up for it all. Hopefully when they expand, they keep the recipes but make it more open and customer friendly.
