Captain D's Seafood Kitchen

I was there today at 1/24 @ 10:50am (the S Grand) location in St Louis and placed a drive through order that took a little over 20minutes to get so I was getting antsy when the woman brought my food out. (I’m guessing it took so long because the kitchen was probably just getting ready and the fryers needed to get heated up) I’ve never worked food service, but it occurred to me after I left that was probably the case:) I’m not sure if she was a manager, shift lead, or a cashier but she was so sweet and thanked me for being patient. I checked my order before leaving since they have so many bad reviews so I was worried, and then I wondered if I was at the same place that people had left bad reviews about because let me tell you, the food was steaming hot, well prepared, properly portioned, I had napkins, condiments and a fork to eat with. I haven’t been to a fast food restaurant since pre-pandemic so maybe around 2019 and this was worth the wait!!! Perhaps you got new staffing, maybe people who have positive experiences don’t post as often as they happen. But the black woman in the mint green shirt working today was delightful.. and she made sure that the food she sent out was top quality!! You’ll have to let her know that the lady who had 2 doodles (dogs) in her grey car today sings her praise. People don’t credit others enough when they deserve it.

The fish is usually pretty good, although last time it was a bit cold upon receiving my order. I love their cole slaw. I was quite preturbed on my last visit when I went to wash my hands in the restroom and they quickly said it's closed down before I even made it to the door. Gross, who wants to eat without washing their hands first!? They seemed irritated when I came in to place a carryout order, instead of coming to the drive through. It was way backed up, and I took a cab there anyway.

I frequent here often, but last night was I experienced the BEST customer service ever at this location!! It was 8:50pm and I was the 3rd car in line(waited abt 8mins to get to the intercom) and the Marvell asked me to please hold for about 2mins. I ordered the fish&shrimp meal w/green beans and Mac and cheese-he was just so welcoming!! Understand, I've NEVER had a pleasant time just placing a drive thru order here, let alone the smile, freshness and how quick my food came out!! Keep up the good work and give that man a promotion that includes a pay increase 😉
