This is definitely a little gem in St Louis. The food is simple, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The aesthetic is cozy, and inviting, and the staff was wonderful.
This is definitely a place for a date, meeting, or brunch.
The food is affordable, and competitive with many chain restaurants offering a much cheaper quality.

First time to visit was a good experience. Food was excellent. Service was mediocre. Drinks were tasty. Parking in the evening was pretty easy.
The location is a neat old building with simple table seating in multiple rooms and brick walls. They offer a rotating menu with a variety of great options.
Would return!

One of the best restaurants in StL! Everything from the food to the ambiance to the service is incredible.
For dinner: We got the charcuterie, gouda cheese, osso busco, scallops, pumpkin cake, and chocolate tart. All of it was to die for! The pumpkin cake might be my favorite dessert.
For brunch: the avocado Benedict and the chicken and waffles are both very tasty. The chicken in particular was juicy and well seasoned. My friend also loves the shrimp and grits.

Absolutely outstanding. Food was fabulous, servings generous, and a lovely selection of wines and spirits. Highly recommend - you won’t be disappointed!!

I’ve come here several times this year and it’s become one of my go to places for special occasions. The food is always delicious and the wait staff are so friendly and accommodating. The scallops are my go to and the goat cheeses are always a delight! The only complaint I have is that it gets quite loud due to the exposed brick, so if you’re seated near a large group as a party of two it can be a bit difficult to converse.

Four of us had dinner here this past weekend and while the food was excellent, the drink service was so slow. We waited almost 20 minutes for the first round and then ordered a second round which took at least another 20 minutes. We weren't driving and it was a holiday dinner so we would have ordered another round but we didn't want to wait that long -- so we saved the $60 and went elsewhere. My sister had also just visited and her experience with the cocktails was the same. We ordered straight from the menu so you'd think those would be a safe bet. Anyway, the meal will be great but the drinks will be slow.

Our first time here, the mood and ambiance were just what we wanted. The server was very busy, therefore service and wait time was quite slow. Nevertheless, he was friendly and helpful. The food was so delicious. I ordered the scallops with bacon risotto. I was going to order steak, however the server suggested something else when i specified well done, stating that it would be leathery. Perfect!! My guy ordered the mussels. Pumpkin cake with vanilla cream and caramel for dessert. Soo delicious. Red rum and bullfighter were scrumptious and I was tipsy. We definitely recommend.

Met all expectations. Cocktails and food were exceptional. Service was friendly and helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. We wanted a quick and unpretentious meal, and that's what we received. But we would have been equally welcomed for an extended experience for certain. Cool vibe with multiple rooms and good combination of community and intimacy. Crazy good value, too. We left with an unexpectedly reasonable bill for what we received. Not a cheap date, but unquestionably worth every penny.

We had the tuna poke and PEI mussels as appetizers. The poke was very tasty and paired well with the provided crisps. The mussels were good, but the broth they were in was out of this world. For entrees, I had the salmon and she had the scallops. The salmon was a bit done for my liking and there was a grain between the beets and cheese that I didn't think it needed. But the beets and cheese made it up. A great dish.
However.
The scallops were the star of the evening. Fresh scallops are difficult to best when prepared simply. These were prepared perfectly with sear and a bit of caramelization. They sat like monarchs on a throne of risotto. As if the squash blossoms didn't deify the risotto enough, the thick, smoky bacon confirmed this dish's royalty.
The cocktails were delicious, too. I sampled a couple of whiskey based delights and would gladly do it again.
A+100. We'll be back.

What a great spot for weekend brunch next to Lafayette Park. I Google searched for best brunch spots and Polite Society came up at a 4.7. Anything over 4.5 to me means they are doing something right and that is absolutely correct. Six of us shared a brunch meal and all left happy. The chorizo eggs benedict is a great variation to the breakfast classic. The home fries are cooked perfectly and the coffee strong and dark. Next time I would also add the bottomless mimosas. Kind, attentive, efficient, and friendly staff.
