Henry's In Soulard

I don't know where to begin. 🤣 I saw a guy standing in what I thought was a garage and kept walking. Tried the front door and it was locked. Went back to the "garage" and said, "Uhh...is this...the entrance?!" It was. He didn't card me or charge me a cover, he was just...there. I'm 10 months sober and just needed a place to rest after walking too much around Soulard carrying a coat and umbrella on an unexpectedly warm but rainy day. I ordered a soda and asked if it was okay to take pics of the interior. I got a lot of really cool pics then headed out to the patio, which was even more, like, post-apocalyptic surreal art installation. Some of it was covered, which was nice, so I rested my feet and jammed to 90s tunes for what felt like 10 minutes. On my way back through the bar, there were suddenly multiple patrons, only adding to the sense I had stepped out of time. Tl;dr Soulard is haunted and this place is wonderfully weird.

This bar has a fun atmosphere and a neat mix of people. The bar itself doesn't have any food, and isn't the broadest selection on the drink side. To counter that, the bartenders are fun and work with what they've got. It's super open, so in the winter it's a bit chilly. Probably my favorite bar in Soulard for just an easy night out. Feels like they always have a special going on.
