Visited here for a work lunch, and the food was fast and amazing! There were eight of us total, and the wait time was short. Had the quesadilla ranchera, and it was delicious. The tables were clean, and the food was priced fairly. Will come back again.

This restaurant is rarely busy, which I am totally fine with. I know that when I'm having a craving for Mexican, I won't have to wait very long. I wouldn't say I've ever been completely blown away by the food hence the 4-star review, but it satisfies the craving. They do have plenty of vegetarian options, too, if that is what you're seeking.
The service has always been great, and the prices are affordable.

It has been my experience since the early 90's that El Maguey stores reliably offer good Mexican-style entrees at a reasonable price whether in Paducah, Kentucky or in Columbia, Missouri. This site in St. Louis is no different. The food was good as was the service. I often find that Mexican restaurants over salt their dishes. A tip, I prefer minimal salt on my food so I make a point of bringing that to the attention of my server.

I come here atleast 2-4x a month! We're regulars and I love that they know this. The food is ALWAYS fresh and the staff is wonderful-best part is the drinks are strong 😋

Edit: We return time and time again for the good Mexican food, good price and good service. Today a waitress stopped and talked to me about the mole sauce they use. Very good.

Good Restaurant! Our waiter (David?, I'm pretty sure) did wonderful with our group 👍. The ambiance was colorful & festive... piñata-ish? But cool and clean! Place wasn't busy (afternoon time). I had the Mexican burrito/w ground beef. ⭐⭐⭐½'s Guacamole bowl 😁!

Really good American-Mexican comfort food. The portions are big, prizes are fair and flavor is there.
In our group of 6, we have tried 6 different dishes and everybody loved theirs.
The nachos taste delicious - not too greasy and the salsa and queso are tasty as well.
Love the convenient location and would definitely go back.
