I love this restaurant, very much. I've been visiting since they opened a number of years ago. It's honestly the best option for Thai food on South Grand, and the best value for your $$$- King & I has decent food, but is seriously overpriced for what you're getting. The ambiance and eating environment is wonderful, and they have a vegetarian section that's easy to find and filled with a lot of delicious options. Make sure you let them know on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most spicy, how hot you would like your dish. Personally, I can't handle anything above a 2, but if you're feeling adventurous you need to live your best life. Come here for a cozy date night and walk next door to get gelato afterwards.

Very Thai restaurant. Takes me back to the days we visited Satahip Thailand and my first introduction to Thai cooking. Thai spicy is not like South American spicy. If you don't mind being drenched in your own sweat, go all the way. I can't wait until my old team-mate Lonesome Ray comes to visit, he's going to love this place.

Wow, I am vegetarian and love when there is a distinct vegetarian section on the menu. I ordered Pad See Ew (spelling?) With tofu, it was the most flavorful dish and as a dish I order often I was extremely impressed. The atmosphere was very pleasant, great service, the two other companions with me enjoyed the basil chicken and yellow curry that they ordered. I will be returning again soon

By far some of the best Thai food and the kindest restaurant owners I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We got our food and drinks super quickly (within 5-10 minutes of ordering), and everything was INCREDIBLE. The chicken pad Thai in particular warms the soul and stomach. The owners remembered all of my friends and I when we came back again the next day for lunch (which is ridiculously cheap; $7 for a large plate of noodles), and even remembered each person’s spice level tolerance (haha)! Can not recommend this place enough.

We got the drunken noodles with Tofu, which was excellent. Much better value than the nearby King and I in my opinion, even if the atmosphere isn't as good.

Basil Spice is a little known GEM in the heart of STL International district. Fresh ingredients made with distinctly traditional Thai flavors. I LOVE the spring Rolls, Green Curry w/ coconut milk, lemongrass, and basil. Healthy sweet and sour chicken for the kids with real chicken breast. Yummy yummy yummy!

Basil Spice is a good place to go if you're favorite thai place is closed or you just want something different. The workers are all very friendly and we got our food very fast. I got the Pad Wun-Sen which had plenty of flavorful noodles mixed with vegetables and an egg. I also tried the ginger Chicken which was unique in that it was served in almost a broth. Basil Spice is a solid Thai place, though I was expecting a little more after reading some other reviews and having multiple people recommend it. I think there are better thai places around but if you're in the mood for Thai food, it will scratch that itch.
