We so enjoyed our dinner last night at "The Tavern Kitchen." Our friendly waiter was very attentive as was the lovely lady who filled our water glasses. All the staff were cheerful & extremely busy. We live in Florida & definately would welcome a restaurant such as yours in Sarasota. The salmon was cooked perfectly but the subtle snap of the jalapeno gratin potato side dish was a pleasant surprise for me especially since I am Texan who grew up with jalepeno peppers. Thanks so much. Here are photos of the Parmesan Crusted Salmon, Jalapeno Gratin & Pan Seared Salmon.

Great food and service! I had a shrimp dish and you get to choose from 5 different preparations. I chose the pan seared which came on a cauliflower puree, spinach and sun dried tomatoes recommended by our server. Phenomenal! My husband had soft shell crab sushi and said it didn't have a lot of flavor but it sure looked beautiful. The couple we were with each ordered a hamburger and said they were delicious. Salads and desserts were good also..... we sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the people watching as well.

Excellence in high-calory dining 😋 (Seriously) Thing is, the me u is a but scattershot, ranging from sushi, through "poutine", to Louisiana style spare-ribs (with expected diversions into Lobster machines 'n cheese, lobster bisque, and lobster rangoon). The one consistent thing though is that the higher the caloric content of the item, the better it is (the fish platters are meh, the "poutine" is stellar, and spare-ribs are destination-dining (the Tabasco seasoning *actually* makes sense here - with the crisp/sharp/acidic tang of the Tabasco helping cut through the unctuously fatty pork) Do get the poutine. Do get the spareribs. Don’t get the "platters" (trio of the mains, in smaller portions. Basically, meh) Oh, there is also a decent wine and beer list, and a more than decent cocktail bar.

I had brunch here with a friend, this was my first visit. The neighborhood is beautiful and the food was fantastic. I had the three waffles as shown in this picture. I'll definitely be back!

Service was excellent. I ordered the seafood trio and it was good but could have been better, salmon was a tad over and a bit bland, tuna was really good but super spicy (heads up). My coworker just ordered the salmon and it looked perfect. Next time I go, I'll just pick a regular entree and I'm sure it'll be done better than the trio.

Atmosphere was great, as was the food. We ordered sushi, the beet salad, peanut-crusted scallops and the butter cake for dessert. Everything was great. I like how there are a few different options to chose from in terms of ways to prep the seafood. The butter cake was gooey and so delicious. The blueberry ice cream on top was not so creamy, so it was very light and a great compliment to the heavier, gooey butter cake. The outside area is really trendy. I would love to return.

Great tasting plates - a cool way to get a variety of the many delicious dished on the menu. Sizable wine list and interesting looking cocktails. Great cast iron house made desserts, and good selection of after dinner drinks too. A little on the pricier side but absolutely worth it! Great place for a date night.
