My favorite Mexican on the street. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are massive. The California burrito is the size of a baby, even if it isn't a real California burrito. The service is slow because it's a family restaurant, but they're always very nice. The good isn't quite as good as it was a year or more ago, but still definitely worth your time.
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Tower Taco for the first time last week. I had a huge burrito and he had the mole chicken. Delicious! Nice atmosphere, good service, and very reasonable prices. It’s located a few blocks away from the crowded section of the street, which made it easier to find parking. What a great addition to Cherokee Street!
I highly recommend this place. Very cozy and friendly. Food was amazing and full of flavor. If you looking for more of an authentic menu then give Tower Taco a try. Oh and they have the apple soda.
As the kid and I continue the quest to try a new Mexican place every two weeks, it took us to Tower Taco in conjunction with another errand. The dining room was cozy, and could see it getting crowded pretty easily, but the decor was nice and the chairs were comfortable. However, the air temperature was a bit hot.
Food was taco-centric, as one would expect from the name. However, the fajitas and chimichanga were pretty damn tasty. My only complaint was the water not being refilled, and seemingly only one server available, which probably led to the lack of H2O.
Finally, I saved the star of the show for last... the salsa. It was awesome! Both the mild and hot, I just wish they gave bigger bowls initially. Salsa took this place from average to above.
I love coming to Tower Taco!!! This place is not expensive and the food is good. I like how it's not by all of the other restaurants on Cherokee so it has never been extremely packed when I have stopped by. In result you do not have to wait long for your food or drinks.
Cozy space, very quick, friendly service, clear menu, and huge portions of tasty food. (I went for the "house special" burrito with chorizo).
A nice medium salsa and another salsa with a more flavorful, spicier kick to it.
After watching the taco documentary on Netflix my husband and I wanted some authentic Mexican tacos .... Corn tortillas and more than beef chicken and steak...I tried the tongue taco and it was delicious... Had the strimp and marinated pork all finger licking good... I like everything on the side so I can add as much toppings as I want...
Awesome food. But was little suffocating place for the crowd. Should have been a little spacious as the food was really worth it.
Love the enchiladas with mole sauce and the gorditas taco. The mole sauce was great. Service was excellent with a comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be going back.
Holy Mole! This burrito was so good!! Well, the half of it I could cram down my burrito hole. I ate two delicious meals for $10.
