I have been going there for many years. Love and miss the whole family that runs the place. I live in Texas now, but always try to drop by when ever I come through town!!!!
I’m only a couple of blocks away from Urzi’s and really enjoy this market. I almost never know what I’m going to buy until I get there. Once I’m there I just let the food speak to me. On this occasion I ended up with pizza shells, sauce, pizza cheese (provel but you can’t call it that) and chicken spiedini skewers. I had the spiedini for dinner and used the leftovers to make a spiedini pizza. It was delicious and all made with items I purchased at Urzi’s. I highly recommend giving them a shot and helping to support a small local business.

Wonderful selection of spices and Italian foods. There is a small deli and meat department also. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This is a great little Italian store and deli. The sandwiches were delicious and the staff are friendly. A good place for getting fresh bread or frozen raviolis. Lots to explore.
I LOVE THIS STORE. Everything they sell is wonderful. I especially like the seasoned olive oils and the lemon oil. They are so very nice to me every time I go there. It is a MUST go to!
This is a part of local grocers that is far too rare nowadays. If there's something you can't find I've have no idea what you could be looking for. This is old school American Italian. Bulk spices are great! The sandwiches are great. Nice selection of wines and liquor and beer! I always buy my olives and my Italian cheeses here. I'm in my seventies and I've been coming here for at least 65 years I think if I remember right I remember dad bringing me up here stock up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It smells right. The Frozen pastas and sausages are all things I remember from my youth. If you think this is a love letter it is! If you miss this place it's your fault! Help keep Mom and Pop going for the next generation.
You have never seen more stuff in one small place! You want to buy so much food! Try to pace yourself and just make another visit! Lots of stuff you have never seen before, but now suddenly need. It's a great experience to visit this little store on the Hill.
This is a fantastic little neighborhood grocery store, loved the selection of wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, etc. We stopped by on a whim to do a little shopping and walked outside to realize that the keys were locked in the car. An employee (or maybe the owner) named Joe came to the rescue and could not have been any more helpful. He called a locksmith for us (used a benefit available on his own personal policy) and we were on our way within 25 minutes.
We will be back and left with a great impression of St Louis and The Hill.
Excellent, excellent market! Great competitive prices and the bonus is their own brand tastes great. The spices that are made there are out of this world. The Urzi's special Italian Seasoning is phenomenal!
Been a shopper there for six years now and wish I had have heard of them earlier. (I'm not from the area at all)
Staff is super helpful, and in positive moods.
