One of my favorite place's to eat. Friendly, great service, reasonable price's, and the best fried chicken ever!!
I've tried fried chicken all over Saint Louis and I can truly say that the Original Crusoe's has the best fried chicken. Tastes just like the way my Grandma use to make it.
Love Crusoe's fried chicken, ribs and great fried mushrooms, etc. Portions are terrific and the personnel make you feel like you are at home with great service and best of all you don't have to do dishes, and no cooking either. Love this restaurant.
I always thought Hodak was the best until I tried Crusoe’s chicken. Also at Crusoe’s you can get all white or all dark which you cannot do at most restaurants.
The best pub food in south city. Always great service.
I have never been disappointed in the food wether it be the Mac&Blue, Trash wings, Chicken tenders or the tots. Everything I’ve tried is very good.
What a great place. The service was excellent and the food awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return.
I had not been to Crusoe's in a very long time so I was a bit unsure. We went for lunch and had great food and service! My husband had never been there and he loved the chicken wings. We will be back! 😃
It's always a perfect night out when you go to Crusoe's for dinner. The staff is amazing in the food is outstanding.
I have been coming to Crusoe's for year's with the family and have never done a review. Everything from the Service, to the food was amazing. But the best part was by far the dessert! I have never had a cheesecake like the one from Crusoe's.
We ordering the Trashed Wings. They were big, meaty, and tasty. The fried mushrooms were decent, and we ordered a 12" pepperoni and mushroom. The crust could have been crispier, but the sauce was good and there was plenty of cheese. Great waitress and an overall good time.
My partner, his daughter and I at at Crusoe's last week. My partner and I had dinner there before, but this was his daughters first time going. The food was great and I haven't eaten anything yet that didn't taste good and from here. I ordered a side salad, fried shrimp and onion rings. My partner ordered a chicken dinner with two sides. His daughter ordered an order of fries and a 3 Pepper Wings. She said the wings weren't hot at all, but we're good. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer.
Crusoe's has various specials during the week which is always a good thing. They also have a discount card that you can use each time you visit to save a percentage on your meal. Sign up is free. There prices are not bad at all with most menu items being under $20. They give you lots of food for the price you pay. We didn't have to wait long for our food and our waitress has been great each time.
Upon entering you do have to wear a mask until seated. Each booth is separated by a curtain shield which gives a nice touch to the ambiance of the establishment. This is a great place to take the family including the kiddos. This establishment is wheelchair accessible. There's ample parking outside on the street as well. We've been safe walking to this establishment, but we did be sure to watch out surroundings as usual.
What I love about Crusoe's is that there's pictures and memorabilia around the entire place. I love looking at them and noticing something different when we've been. I especially love the big giant soda cap. This is very different, but fun to see. You'll see what I mean when you visit. There's an outside patio, but I've never eaten out there, but I will at least once.

So ironically I heard of this place maybe two or three days before it was announced that they would be closing, and I said that I absolutely was going to go and so I have been twice since then. For the past two Sundays I have dined on the all you can eat chicken and fish. Now, if you get the oil you can eat chicken and fish and you leave hungry it is not their fault! I have left full both times. I even had their pumpkin cheesecake and key lime pie and both were delicious. One of the things that I've noticed is that the servers are spread thin. And I don't blame that on the servers whatsoever. I noticed that it doesn't seem like servers have sections versus they just get a timetables all over the restaurant and so they're running every direction which is not good. But in the server's defense they do run! As far as the food is concerned, if you enjoy seasoned food like I do, you will love this place. You will not get bland food here! Not at all! This is a must try! And just for reference the all you can eat fish and chicken is on Sundays!
I love this place. My neighborhood local bar and restaurant. Karaoke from 1030pm-230am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I Love the host of karaoke on Thursday and Saturday nights KJ TRACY and her hubby Gary. Come hangout and sing with everyone. Mics 🎤are sanitized between singers.
One of the best St. Louis style pizzas you’ll find! Great family-style restaurant that’s clean and spacious, great for large parties and impromptu get togethers. If you try and fall in love with the Mayfair dressing, ask for a bottle to take home!
Great food, awesome staff. Happy they are in the neighborhood!
A neighborhood favorite with good food and service, with clean, friendly surroundings. Chicken is their specialty. (Get the half chicken-- you won't regret it.) Efficient and friendly service, great prices. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I try to make it here a couple times a year.
My only complaint is it took us so long to try out this restaurant. Had fried chicken, salad, baked potato, slaw, chicken sandwich and onion rings. Everything was so good and our server was very friendly. Not to mention the prices were incredibly reasonable. Will definitely be back because there were a lot of other things on the menu we want to try.
I was driving by on new years eve trying to find somewhere to eat, and a little rainbow flag on a corner building coerced me into the parking lot of this restaurant. I went in not knowing what to expect. I texted my mom asking if she's heard of this place before, and she told me she used to take me here as a kid. Enough with my backstory, though. Everything here is absolutely top tier! My meal came with two sides, one of which I demolished (the fried corn). The waitresses here were very nice to me too, and complimented my outfit! Needless to say, if I'm ever in around here again with no idea where to eat I'm gonna come back here.
A true gem! Food was delicious, service great and decent prices! All you can eat chicken and fish with three standard sides for $11.99! Such a deal. Best fried chicken in St. Louis!
Great Restaurant!
Amazing décor, ambiance and well priced food!
Restaurant is in a bit of a rough area but you shouldn't have any trouble.
What gem of a restaurant and bar tucked away in Dutchtown, at the corner of Itasca & Compton. For those who know or follow me in Google maps know I like a good meal at a fair price. The Original Crusoe's has all of that and pleasant atmosphere to boot. Staff is as good as you could expect in any of the higher end restaurants in the city. I wouldn't hesitate to take family and friends there for a meal or a drink. Brandy, out waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. And this the first restaurant I've been to to tell me that what I ordered had become unavailable because they didn't think it was good enough to serve their customers. They offered anything else on the menus at the same price. Rare to see that sort of attitude these days. A return visit is a must.
