It's a library-like setting with booze and games. Absolutely perfect. The concept is excellent and the food is very good. Quality ingredients are important. Also the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We played a Bob Ross painting game that we were confused about. We asked the server how to play and he knew exactly what to do. It was random and awesome. They have window seats which is a plus. I have a laundry list of people I want to take there. If you like games, you have to go!

I really like this establishment. I ordered the taco salad with chicken and avacado. The food I ordered was fresh, seasoned deliciously and large in portion. We got to sit in a 'new space'. Since parties tend to spend a bit more time at this restaurant than the average restaurant, they have added seating in a slightly remote area of the building. I was meeting up with friends who I hadn't seen in a while and this was perfect for us! We were not distracted by other parties. Our server suggested a few games and even sat with us and explained how to play. We tried two different games that she introduced us to and we have a super awesome time.

I’m actually upset I did not come here sooner. I’m awestruck at the community and how neat and casual it is. The menu is huge and everyone is super friendly; waitstaff is prompt. Reasonable prices. I’m currently obsessed. Will definitely be bringing some friends and family back! Side notes: The Butter Beer for someone who does not like beer was delicious. I’m totally keen on carbonated drinks but that is not the drinks fault. A must try. Also, the nachos are nothing fancy by any means BUT it’s absolutely a ginormous portion. My friend and I came thinking we were going to have an appetizer and dinner and ended up just sharing the nachos. I wish the establishment was larger too. We personally had no trouble with a wait but I could definitely see how waiting on a table to get up so you could play would be EXTREMELY frustrating. Reservations (even if pre-paid) would be nice!

I went to do a bit of tabletop gaming with a small group of friends, and had a great time! I was there for a ridiculous amount of time both before my group got there and once we got started, but the staff was very attentive and accommodating--I didn't feel rushed or like I was imposing by being there. The food was delicious as were the drinks, and super well priced at that! I will definitely be back.

Great place, and very friendly and helpful staff. This place has a HUGE game library, and all the games are very well-kept. Also, great beer selection, as well as non-alcoholic beverages for the kids and/or Christians.

I had a birthday party at Pieces for a group of 14 y-olds. Everything was perfect -- the cake from the inhouse bakery was gorgeous and absolutely delicious – it completely surpassed our expectations! All of the staff was very helpful and friendly, the food perfect, and of course the atmosphere a total delight. I give Pieces my highest recommendation. Looking forward to going again for a grownup party.

Really great place to enjoy family or friends and some good food and drinks to go along with quite literally EVERY board game you can imagine at your fingertips. The ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they have a fee of $5 PER PERSON just to sit down. I understand they don't want someone coming in and loafing all day playing games, but if we're ordering cocktails and food, it should be waived entirely.

Really enjoyed this place! They have like 1000 board games and can recommend whatever you are in the mood for. The food was good and we loved the friendly, laid back atmosphere.

Pieces Board Game Bar and Grill was a real treat and one I want to visit again soon. Fun and fantastic food, games, and atmosphere. When we went last night we were the first ones to try their newer flag system (literally brought them out and swapped them on tables while we were there). It is a little easier to understand than the old one. The flag system is great because it helps those working from interrupting your games. The concept is intriguing to say the least. When you come, there is a $5 “library fee” per person. It decreases by $1 for each food or drink item you buy. When you are ready to order you raise up the appropriate (blue) flag. If you need any help with games, you raise the red flag. When you are finished playing, eating, and drinking then you raise the yellow flag for your check. There are countless games from a wide range of genres that works for everyone including solo, two-player, family-friendly, and large group games. Even though alcohol is served, families with even young children should feel comfortable here. We went with friends familiar with the place, but it was our first time and I am excited to go back again soon.

Such an awesome cafe. Family friendly with games for kids of all ages, but also is open late for more adult gaming experiences. They have a bar on one side and gaming room on the other. Servers come when requested using a pretty neat system. Food was on the pricey side but delicious.

I went to Pieces for their board game meeting on Wednesday. We stayed pretty late and staff checking on us very frequently for drink re-fills and to bring food. They offer free water and food and drink menu with serving staff as desired. The atmosphere was decorated with class board games. They do have some board games available to play; however for meet ups usually people bring their own to play.

Drinks and board/card games? This place is awesome!!! Themed drinks and dishes are a really cool little feature, loved the Boba Feta Sandwich and the Nuka Cola cocktail is phenomenal. There's a great variety of games to choose from at a low flat rate that can be diminished by each food/drink item you order. Staff here is incredibly helpful and friendly, would highly recommend trying Pieces at least once.

Food was good. Had a breakfast burrito with sausage mushrooms potatoes and eggs. Cinnamon rolls are great. Kids love selection of games! Great for the whole family. They also have trivia nights with drink specials. Right next to the Darkness in the heart of Soulard. Great spot to hit before Cards game or after a stroll through the market. Give it a shot, you'll be back.

Absolutely adore this place. There are so many games to choose from. If they don't have a game you want to play l, they take suggestions! My group found a new game to play, and we are obsessed!

A very innovative concept and an absolute thrill if you're a big group, a couple, or even alone (yes they have one game that lets you play all alone) wanting to do something out of the box, quite literally! We would recommend the play area, but not the food. We called for the Midwest Poke Bowl and were so sick after. Don't know what's in the dish, but I threw up right after I got home and my husband had a bad stomach ache leading to diarrhea. In all fairness, it's just one dish we tried, but given how sick we were we'd much rather have fun minus the food. Summing up, Pieces is a wonderful place to be when you want to stay indoors, have a crazy time, learn more about board games, and find new friends (perhaps). They have over a 1000 games stocked and the staff is very friendly and will attend to you if you happen to find yourself stuck. We love their selection and would definitely go back to play more games!

Brilliant! Super busy, but it's so efficient and organized it feels super chill. The food and drinks are excellent. Vast selection of games and the service is friendly and prompt. I thought it would be a lot more chaotic, but I was very relaxed and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Pieces is a fun and unique concept! They have a massive collection of +1000 board games that can be played with friends while you enjoy a meal or some drinks. It’s a kid friendly cafe, but it also cater to adults. I’ve been in with a couple friends to have a causal board game night over a couple beers, and I’ve also come out for a board game meet up with strangers. It’s always a fun time, and it’s a great way to play some games you’ve never seen or don’t have enough people to play at home. Pro tip: order a couple drinks and food, and it’ll reduce the library fee by $1 per menu item. They also have trivia on Wednesdays from 7-9 Happy hour Wednesday- Friday from 4-6!!! Great time to take advantage of the $1 off library fee per order item. 😉

10 out of 10. Great for a date night, families, friends. I adore this place. My family goes as often as our schedule allows and often on one of birthdays. Cute story, was super pregnant and went in there for blt dip and it was taken off the menu and the lovely owner gave me the recipe to make at home. Love their whole system of ordering, getting help with a game and checking out. Drinks are great. All the food is amazing. The chef or chefs rock. Beautiful atmosphere that has housed so much fun and laughter for us.

I’d never heard of this place but what a cool vibe for people. The walls of games, good food and drinks are a steal. You are charged a $5 library fee which covers your use of game lay. For every food/drink you order, $1 is deducted from the library fee. All of the food is under $15 so therefore your bill will be reasonable. It is loud but not “bar” loud. It’s a lot of loud outbursts from game play. I cannot wait to go back. Also they offer a brunch with bottomless mimosas.

Pieces Game Cafe is a haven for food and board game enthusiasts. Their veggie skillet with tofu eggs and impossible sausage is excellent, and the caramelized onion dip is a must-try. With over 1000 board games available, it's a paradise for game lovers.

Had a private room for the family, and the $45 fee was worth the privacy and noise reduction. Mimosas could be a little stronger (no one needs that much OJ) but they said they’d had problems with guests getting a little rowdy so I could understand. Breakfast slinger was huge, with plenty of sausage, egg, gravy, and hash browns in just the right proportions. Games were well kept and clean, with our server providing a brief tutorial on ones we didn’t know.

For a person who LOVES to play games of all kinds… this place is AMAZING! They showed us around for our first time and explained how everything worked. They had party games, the classics, and games that range from simple instructions to complex. It was so nice to just sit, drink, and eat on some yummy cookies/sliders while just being with friends playing new games. I wish I had one of these close to home, but now I have a new game to get my hands on and play with my family and students. 🤍 There is a $5 fee to help with the maintenance of games, which is 100% fair. 👏🏼
