Even though it can be a 30-minute wait for a table, they do offer a seat at the bar if there's a seat available. The food is always good and the service is always fantastic.

We stopped for a quick breakfast before an appointment. The server was amazing, I told her we were in a hurry, she said she would try to help. She delivered coffee/water quickly, then a hot plate and soon after our meal. We ordered their biscuits and gravy meal which was enough to feed 3. The food was delicious. Their coffee could use some work, tasted like it was strained a dirty sock. Hubby could not drink it and that says a lot.
The atmosphere was loud but tolerable. Not a fan of the scribbled on walls, partitions etc.

A bit noisy atmosphere, but its expected because of how busy their breakfast rush is. Walls are awesome, can write your name on it. Majority of the food is southern food styled. Not my forte' and its good they had a classic breakfast which i got. Pancakes are HUGE. 1 will fill you up. Its about 3 normal sized pancakes into one.

Edit… We have been going to the Shack in Valley Park for years. I can say today was probably the worst experience we’ve had. One buttermilk pancake costs $6.99. Fair enough, pancakes are HUGE. One Belgian waffle costs $9.99, Belgian waffle was TINY. See pic. Other things were not on point, but the nail in the coffin was the price for the waffle. Mind you, it was only 1 waffle served. Enough said. Still keeping the 5-Stars for other previous visits.
I love you Shack! However, you have a WEIRD idea of how the waitlist should work…So I put in my name on the waitlist while I am at home. The wait time is 75-105 minutes. I arrive at The Shack about 70 minutes later. Lo and behold, the hostess tells us we never checked in with her. Sure we did, we checked in at home using the waitlist!!!! But no no no, she says, you needed to let us know you checked in with the hostess before we can seat you, so your name was never moved up on the waitlist. Basically, telling me this…..Put your name on the waitlist through Google. Then drive to the restaurant as soon as possible to check in. Of course, the wait may still be 70–105 minutes long. But please, come sit around for 70-105 minutes because that’s the way we do it here. This is so WEIRD. Please start using Yelp waitlist again, it’s so much more time efficient!!

I ordered coffee, biscuits and gravy.
Great coffee.
Biscuits and gravy did not have near enough gravy and was very dry. The waitress brought me more gravy and it was fine. Good breakfast. Very fast service. Nothing not to like.

Birthday brunch after a morning at the Botanical Gardens. This place is always hopping. They only serve breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays but who isn't up for breakfast anytime. We had called ahead so we only had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. Our food came out fast considering how busy this place is and everything was hot and delicious.

Loved, loved, loved The Shack. Is there anything better than breakfast! Yes! Someone else making the breakfast and serving it up with a smile. The biscuits and gravy were amazing! The baconator sandwich was to die for! We had an amazing server named Ava who was so friendly and welcoming! We truly felt like we were at home with friends. A great experience and incredible breakfast options. It gets busy so be patient. The food comes out amazingly fast once you order!

Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the I Don't Usually Order Hash Browns, But When I Do, and she loved it. The eggs were cooked over hard (just the way she likes it), as were the hash browns and the avocado ranch dressing. My son enjoyed eating the Mother Clucker Wrap. He enjoyed the crispiness of the chicken, the fresh greens and the chipotle aioli. The Spicy Cole Slaw was crunchy, tangy and flavorful but not spicy. It was still delicious, and I enjoyed every bite. I ordered the Cease 'N Desist Burger. The smashed burger patties were meaty, and balanced well with the 1000 island dressing, mixed greens and smoky thick cut bacon. The soft pretzel bun held up well to the burger patties and the toppings. It was delicious. I also had a side order of fries that I upgraded to Jersey Girls Don't Pump Gas. The meatloaf gravy was meaty, salty and creamy. It was in between each of the fries as was the melted White Cheddar Cheese which made me realize that I made the right choice by upgrading the fries.
